Jason Kenney is latest conservative leader to be pushed out for not being ‘extreme enough,’ federal tourism minister says

As conservatives across Canada reacted to the fall of Jason Kenney, a defining voice in their political movement, a Liberal from the Tory heartland offered an outsider’s diagnosis into the state of conservatism in the country.

“Mr. Kenney was pushed out of his party because he wasn’t extreme enough,” Tourism Minister Randy Boissonnault, an Edmonton MP, declared Thursday.

“It’s time for the moderates in conservative movements in this country to step up and ask themselves: Where is this train going?”

Huh? O’Toole was a case of false advertising and Kenney won the confidence vote but decided to push himself out. Certainly in the CPC’s case not one of the current leadership candidates will be able to alter the party’s leftward tilt.

Where are Ontario’s crime guns coming from? New data shows top U.S. source states

On Sept. 22, 2018, Canadian Border Service agents seized a vehicle attempting to cross from New York.

Inside the vehicle, a so-called “trap” compartment secreted 20 firearms, including several .40 calibre Smith & Wesson handguns, 9mm Taurus pistols and a silencer. Court documents show the individual driving the vehicle was a Canadian citizen.

‘This can’t be real’: Grubhub promotion turns New York City restaurants into a ‘war zone’

What were they thinking?

That’s what customers, restaurants and delivery workers want to know after a surprise promotion by the food delivery platform Grubhub went badly awry – and proved there’s really no such thing as a free lunch.

Grubhub’s plan was ambitious: to feed everyone in New York City and the surrounding Tri-State area for free, during lunch hours on Tuesday. The platform cited a survey it had conducted that found that 69% of working New Yorkers said they had skipped lunch.

Iran Trying to Force the US to Meet All Its Demands

As the European Union is trying to revive the stalled talks on restoring Iran’s nuclear deal with world powers, many Arabs are again warning the Biden administration against rushing to strike a deal with the mullahs, saying this could jeopardize Washington’s relations with its Arab allies in the Middle East.

The Arabs are saying that they cannot understand why Biden is prepared to allow Iran’s mullahs to “humiliate” the US by setting their own conditions for restoring the nuclear agreement, including the demand to remove the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from the list of terrorist organizations.

‘Now we get hit too’: Belgorod, the Russian city on the Ukraine frontline

The sounds of war have become louder in Belgorod, a mid-sized Russian city about 25 miles (40km) from the Ukrainian border. And the blasts are more frequent.

“On Sunday, we were woken up again by explosions. You never know if it’s them or us firing,” said Vladimir, a shopkeeper in the city.

Locals such as Vladimir first witnessed Russia’s military buildup at the start of the year, when thousands of troops amassed near Belgorod prior to Moscow’s attack in late February.

Trudeau Defends Invoking Emergencies Act as Bergen Says Justification Is ‘Falling Apart’

With recent revelations that neither the RCMP nor the Ottawa police requested that the federal government invoke the Emergencies Act, Conservative interim leader Candice Bergen said the Liberals’ argument for invoking the order is “very quickly falling apart.”

Both Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino have repeatedly said the act was invoked based on advice received from law enforcement.

“The Liberals are simply not telling Canadians the truth.

Disinformation Killed the Disinformation Board, Says Its Former Chief

Freaky DisInfo Chick

If only Old Joe Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board had been in place to protect the Disinformation Governance Board! The ardently partisan Biden wonk who had been all set to be crowned America’s Disinformation Czarina, Nina Jankowicz, appeared on MSNBC’s “All In” Wednesday to lament that the coronation has now been “paused,” and it’s all the fault of those evil right-wingers who had the temerity to be concerned that a government agency dedicated to combating “disinformation” could all too easily become a tool of authoritarians who wished to quash dissent. Jankowicz is shocked, shocked, that anyone could have thought that at all, and finds it “ironic” that disinformation killed the Disinformation Board. If only it had been up and running to silence and punish the miscreants.

Amber Heard’s toxic femininity For men’s rights activists, she’s the embodiment of women who lie

The Men’s Rights Movement was born to weigh in on cases like Johnny Depp’s. The movement gained prominence during the Seventies and Eighties in response to what some men saw as preferential treatment of women in family court cases, especially where custody arrangements, alimony, and divorce settlements were concerned. As the historic injustices faced by women gained more attention in the media, legal system, and politics, these men organised to cry, What About Us?

Canada’s indigenous leaders ask for royal apology

Indigenous leaders met Prince Charles in Canada and asked for an apology from the Queen over the “assimilation and genocide” of indigenous schoolchildren.

RoseAnne Archibald, Assembly of First Nations national chief, said the prince “acknowledged” failures in handling the relationship with indigenous people.

Canada is dealing with a scandal which saw indigenous children die or be abused in residential schools.

I don’t see GB giving up its Royal tradition but I wonder if the Firm will cut all foreign ties of their own initiative. It must be a lot of bother being heckled everywhere you go and the woke nagging just isn’t playing well.

Constitutional monarchy serves us well — but its figureheads have a serious image problem

There was some tittering on the Internet last week when Prince Charles, opening a new session of the British Parliament on behalf of his ailing mother, relayed the government’s commitment to helping “ease the cost of living for families” while sitting upon a golden throne.

In fairness to Charles, he was only doing his job. For that matter, a case can be made that the event at the Palace of Westminster — what’s called the Queen’s Speech in the United Kingdom and the Speech from the Throne in Canada — was actually less ridiculous than the self-aggrandizing and airy State of the Union address the American president delivers each year.

John Ivison: A banker’s cars firebombed in the night and progressive politicians stay silent

It’s time that progressive politicians condemn left-wing extremist violence with the same lack of equivocation as most conservatives denounce right-wing extremism

Former Conservative minister and senior RBC executive Michael Fortier and his family were asleep in their Montreal home at 1:30 a.m. on May 4, when he was woken by a neighbour banging on his drain pipe to warn him that the Jaguar and Land Rover parked in the driveway were on fire.

Well John that would require that your associates in the media also condemn “left-wing violence” and call out progressive politicians when they fail to do so. Facts are that the media for the most part are willing minions of the political class that seeks to criminalize “right-wing views.” Antifa, BLM, the Eco-Terrorists etc are their foot soldiers and they will continue to willingly turn a blind eye.

Kinder Gentler Taliban order Afghanistan’s female TV presenters must cover their faces

The Taliban have ordered female Afghan TV presenters to cover their faces while on air.

Media outlets were told of the decree on Wednesday, a religious police spokesman told BBC Pashto.

The ruling comes two weeks after all women were ordered to wear a face veil in public, or face punishment.

Restrictions on women are being tightened – they are banned from travelling without male relatives and secondary schools are shut for girls.

Can’t they just rub Malala’s head and make it all go away?
