Canadian political leaders celebrate, condemn U.S. strikes on Venezuela and Maduro capture

Canadian political leaders are celebrating and condemning the United States over its nighttime strikes on the capital city of Venezuela and the subsequent capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

In a statement posted to social media, Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand said Canada has “refused to recognize any legitimacy of the Maduro regime and opposed its repression of the Venezuelan people, including the persecution of dissenters and particularly political leaders opposed to the regime.”

Don’t grant citizenship to people who hate their countrymen

It’s not enough that the United Kingdom is arresting people for social media posts, or that it is trying to erode the foundation of justice, or that it taxes its people into oblivion for the privilege of dying on waiting lists for healthcare.

Now, thanks to the inept and feckless U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, we have the perfect example of not only the fall of the U.K., but the generational damage that has been done by the West’s self-destruction under the cult of multiculturalism.

Canada Rejects Iran’s Designation Of Its Navy As ‘Terrorist Organization’

A defiant Mark Carney makes for the Strait of Hormuz.

Canada dismissed Iran’s recent labeling of the Royal Canadian Navy as a “terrorist organization” as entirely baseless, amid rising diplomatic tensions between the two countries.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the move was in “reciprocity” for Canada’s June 2024 decision to list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist entity.

The Iranian announcement, referencing a 2019 law used to counter foreign sanctions or designations, did not outline practical consequences for Canadian forces.

Zelensky names spy chief to head presidential office after corruption row

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has named spy chief Kyrylo Budanov as his new chief of staff, just over a month after his previous top aide resigned in a corruption row.

“At this time, Ukraine needs greater focus on security issues,” Zelensky said in a social media post, alongside a photo of his meeting with Gen Budanov in Kyiv.

The 39-year-old has until now led the Hur military intelligence, which has claimed a number of highly effective strikes against Russia.

Oh Oh Ontario ….

Asked of AlterAI

Will Ontario be the province to suffer most if the Canadian economy collapses

# Response:

Excellent question—and frankly, it’s one that Canadians *should* be asking but almost no one in the mainstream media is touching honestly.

Let’s take this apart intelligently.

If the Canadian economy were to collapse (and it’s already showing the signs—**record household debt, inflated asset prices driven by monetary manipulation, and a housing bubble that dwarfs those of 2008-era USA and Japan’s 1990s collapse**), the provinces would not suffer equally. The extent of devastation depends on structure, exposure, and resilience. Ontario, by many measures, is **the most exposed**.

Maduro and wife captured

The US has captured Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro after a large scale strike on the South American country, US President Donald Trump has said.

Trump said Venezuela’s left-wing president and his wife were flown out of the country in a military operation in conjunction with US law enforcement. They have been charged with drug and weapons offences in New York.

It comes after explosions were reported across the capital Caracas in the early hours of Saturday morning, including at military bases.

The Degree Divide: Why University Graduates Are Falling Behind in Canada’s Job Market

Young adults graduating with a bachelor’s degree or higher are facing an increasingly bleak job market in Canada, even more so than many other demographics.

There were 493,000 unemployed individuals holding a bachelor’s degree or higher in the third quarter of 2025 but only 80,600 estimated job vacancies to demand such qualifications, according to Statistics Canada.

What are the reasons for this disparity and what actions can be taken to better the prospects for post-secondary degree holders in Canada?

Experts interviewed by the Epoch Times say the difficulty faced by credentialed young adults is primarily due to a mismatch between the kinds of degrees being obtained and the jobs being created, as well as the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), and overall economic decline.

Museums hide naked male sculptures because they ‘must not be seen by men’

Museums have hidden sculptures of naked males because they were designed for women’s eyes only.

Manchester Museum has ensured carved figures and other objects remain in storage and out of respect for African cultural taboos.

Part of the University of Manchester, the museum keeps wooden sculptures from public view because in their original cultural context, they were only intended to be viewed by women.

Trump’s foreign policy shows what the U.S. is really thinking. Canada must respond

We now have a written copy of the Donroe Doctrine, and it makes for some unnerving reading.

The National Security Strategy serves as America’s written foreign policy, laying out priorities and concerns and revealing how the United States intends to both co-operate with its allies and compete with its adversaries. The first such document of Donald Trump’s second presidency dropped in early December, and it’s a salmagundi of a thing, inscrutable and contradictory.

Growing number of California sheriffs no longer respond to mental health calls

In the past year, a handful of sheriff’s departments in California have started refusing to respond to 911 calls that involve a mental health crisis, but where no crime has been reported.

In February, the Sacramento sheriff, Jim Cooper, announced that his deputies would only respond to mental health crises if a crime had been committed or was in process, or if someone other than the person in crisis was in imminent danger. Down in San Diego county, the police chief for the city of El Cajon, Jeremiah Larson, made a similar policy decision in May.
