Afghanistan and climate change: the West’s twin failures both have the same cause – a failure to accept reality

The West’s humiliation in Afghanistan has an older brother: climate change.

As siblings, the two share characteristics, most obviously an inability to confront unwelcome facts. In Afghanistan, there was a large constituency led by the Pentagon invested in the mantra of proclaiming progress in the fight against the Taliban. Climate has its own industrial complex of NGOs, climate scientists, renewable energy lobbyists profiting from the energy transition, eager helpers in the media, and politicians posing as world saviors.

Woke Colleges Have No Tolerance for Freedom or White People

In the list of 45 communist goals, as read into the Congressional Record on January 10, 1963, you’ll find #17:

17) Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teacher’s associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
How are they doing? If you’re a communist, you’d be breaking out the Stolichnaya.

Terry Glavin: Why Trudeau Liberals don’t want to talk about China

Of the many obstacles that have been strategically placed in the path of the voting public’s comprehension of where the parties situate themselves in the federal election campaign that’s just now heading into its final lap around the track, there’s nothing quite so peculiar as the cordon sanitaire Justin Trudeau’s Liberals have been allowed to construct around any serious discussion of foreign policy.

We are about to hit a production wall setting us up for all-time high oil prices

The world is hurtling towards an energy crisis, one in which the demand for oil, in my opinion, will grow for at least the next decade, yet the global oil supply chain can no longer adequately respond to it due to stringent environment, social and governance regulations and pressure from investors.

It could lead to all-time high oil prices in the years ahead that could crimp global economic growth, despite the decades-long runway for oil substitutes needed to reach critical mass and achieve decarbonization.

‘Mad Max’ and why his party is on the rise

Canada is edging closer to its federal election on Monday, with Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party and Erin O’Toole’s Conservative Party in a tight race for first place. But the once fringe People’s Party of Canada has emerged as a potential spoiler, riding a wave of anti-lockdown and vaccine mandate sentiment.

In 2018, after a falling out with his party and amid a backlash over statements he made about immigration and multiculturalism, then member of Parliament Maxime Bernier quit the Conservatives and formed his own federal party.

Mr Bernier, a former Canadian foreign minister, is a populist with a libertarian bent who supporters have nicknamed “Mad Max”. He has previously described his upstart party, the People’s Party of Canada (PPC), as a coalition of people “disenchanted with traditional politicians”.

Trudeaus agreed to father’s book being published by Chinese Communist-run company in 2005

It turns out a 2016 edition of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s memoirs was not his family’s first foray into Chinese state-run book publishing.

In 2005, a Communist Party-affiliated company won the family’s approval — and a preface from brother Sacha Trudeau — for a Chinese-language edition of a book their father, former prime minister Pierre Trudeau, co-authored in the 1960s.

German police detain 4 after receiving reports of threat against synagogue

German police arrest muslim terrorist

Police in the German city of Hagen announced on Thursday that they have arrested four suspects, after a significant police force was deployed near a synagogue on Wednesday amid concerns about a possible attack.

In response to the reported risk to the synagogue, police imposed restrictions on traffic and pedestrians outside the religious site and surrounding area, with officers also searching several buildings as part of their investigation. The synagogue was forced to cancel an event due to the security situation.

Another minority looks likely but it could be very different from the last one

OTTAWA — Canadians have chosen minority governments in four of the last six federal elections and Monday’s vote seems likely to produce a fifth.

Whether it will be a Liberal or Conservative minority is anyone’s guess.

Polls suggest the two parties are locked in a dead heat, neither within reach of winning a majority of seats in the House of Commons — much as they were in 2019 when Justin Trudeau’s Liberals won a relatively stable minority.

But that doesn’t mean this election will produce the same result.

Masks for waiters and servants — but not for AOC and the rest

Let’s face it: AOC is a genius. By “genius” I mean “massive talent,” not “extremely smart person.”

Barbra Streisand is a genius singer, but you wouldn’t want her analyzing your X-rays. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Moscow) may be so dumb she hadn’t heard of John Maynard Keynes’s famous (-ly wrong) prophecy about a 15-hour work week until years after graduating college with an economics degree (and also thought his name was “Milton Keynes”), but she is in a class of her own when she’s doing her job, which is getting people to look at her.

Under Trudeau’s Watch: Chinese PLA general collaborated with fired commie scientist at Canada’s top infectious disease lab

Justin Trudeau Xiangguo Qiu Keding Cheng – Everybody say Xi

A high-ranking officer in the People’s Liberation Army, recently lauded by President Xi Jinping for developing a Chinese COVID-19 vaccine, collaborated on Ebola research with one of the scientists who was later fired from Canada’s high-security infectious disease laboratory in Winnipeg.

The joint research conducted by Major-General Chen Wei and former Canadian government lab scientist Xiangguo Qiu indicates that co-operation between the Chinese military and scientists at the National Microbiology Laboratory (NML) went much higher than was previously known. The People’s Liberation Army is the military wing of China’s ruling Communist Party.

Maj.-Gen. Chen Wei and Dr. Qiu, who until recently headed the vaccine development and antiviral therapies section at the Winnipeg lab, collaborated on two scientific papers on Ebola, in 2016 and 2020.

Those papers did not identify Maj.-Gen. Chen as a high-ranking officer and the Chinese military’s top epidemiologist and virologist. Instead, she is identified as Wei Chen, who held a PHD and worked at the Beijing Institute of Biotechnology, part of the Academy of Military Science.

Islamist Paris attacker rants in trial that France ‘knew risks’ of striking jihadists in Syria – says it was nothing personal

Salah Abdeslam Muslim Terrorist

The sole survivor of the jihadist cell that killed 130 people in Paris six years ago Wednesday claimed France “knew the risks” of attacking jihadist targets in Syria, as he spoke out again one week into the trial into France’s worst postwar atrocity.

“We attacked France, targeted its population, civilians, but there was nothing personal,” said Salah Abdeslam.

“(President) Francois Hollande knew the risks he was taking in attacking the Islamic State in Syria,” he said, referring to the decision of the French president at the time to authorise strikes against the jihadist extremist group in Syria.

Pope OK’s communion despite Biden abortion stance

Pope: No place for politics in Biden Communion flap

ABOARD THE PAPAL PLANE (AP) — Pope Francis said Wednesday that Catholic bishops must minister with “compassion and tenderness,” not condemnation, to politicians who support abortion rights and warned that clerics shouldn’t let politics enter into questions about receiving Communion.

Francis was asked en route home from Slovakia about the debate in the U.S. church about whether President Joe Biden and other politicians should be denied Communion because of their stances on abortion. U.S. bishops have agreed to draft a “teaching document” that many of them hope will rebuke Catholic politicians, including Biden, for receiving Communion despite their support for abortion rights.

“Aboard the Papal plane?” This is the same guy who lectures us about Global warming.
