John Ivison: Lessons from a heckler on Trudeau’s six years of failed promises of affordable housing

HAMILTON, ONT. – It’s only 8 a.m. but the sun is already beating down on a half-built subdivision on the outskirts of the city. A smattering of journalists, Liberal staff and party supporters are sweating spinal fluid waiting for the arrival of the party leader and his entourage for an announcement on housing policy that has already been leaked to the Toronto Star.

No, COVID-19 vaccine passports and mandatory vaccination do not ‘protect the health and safety of Canadians’

Public health officers and political decision-makers continue to misrepresent the limited scientific knowledge about the vaccines, a group of academics write

New Democratic Party Leader Jagmeet Singh was quoted last week with the suggestion that public servants who refuse the COVID-19 vaccine could be disciplined and ultimately fired using existing collective agreement clauses.

The Corners-to-Prison Pipeline

This past June, federal prosecutors, working with the Baltimore Police Department, indicted 15 members of a lethal gang known as “CCC” or “Triple C” (which, in a revealing indicator of our cultural decline, reportedly stands for Cruddy Conniving Crutballs, not the Civilian Conservation Corps). Gang members had allegedly committed 18 murders and attempted 27 more between 2015 and 2020. Though that’s less than 1 percent of Baltimore’s stratospheric homicide total during that period, onlookers might still be tempted to find in the news grounds for optimism that Baltimore’s long-running crime wave is cresting.

Baltimoreans know better.

Biden asks for ‘contingency plans’ to extend Afghanistan withdrawal in stunning reversal

In an abrupt about-face, President Joe Biden has asked defense officials to put together “contingency plans” for keeping American forces on the ground in Afghanistan beyond the end of this month — despite claiming earlier Tuesday that the White House would abide by the Taliban’s “red line” of a full withdrawal by Aug. 31.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters that while Biden had asked for the backup plans, he believes the US is “on track to accomplish our mission” by the Aug. 31 deadline he set to have all American forces out of the country after two decades of conflict.

Who Is Directing American Policy?

The images of our desperate Afghan allies begging for rescue as their nation falls into the darkness of the Taliban will become permanently etched in the legacy of the Biden Administration. So too will infants being handed by frantic parents into the arms of U.S. Marines, more than 800 people jammed into a departing C-17 cargo plane, and Taliban beating and whipping those seeking access to the Kabul airport.

Yet the Biden administration was repeatedly told by military brass and intelligence officials that this was going to be the nightmare scenario if they unilaterally pulled American forces out at the end of this month. President Joe Biden’s order that created heart-rending havoc ignored all professional advice, insight, and guidance. His Kabul chaos has made the disorderly evacuation of Dunkirk during World War II look like an act of military precision.

The Taliban reward Biden’s deadline appeasement with new aggression

President Joe Biden, on Tuesday, refused the request of allies to extend an Aug. 31 deadline for the withdrawal of U.S. citizens and allies from Afghanistan.

The Taliban have quickly rewarded Biden’s appeasement. Politico’s Lara Seligman and Alex Thompson reported that the Taliban are increasing their obstruction of Americans and Afghans who are attempting to access Kabul’s airport.

Minnesota mosque bomber identifies as a woman, claims ‘inner conflict’ over transgender secret drove attack

A US militia leader, facing life in prison for bombing a Minnesota mosque in 2017, now reportedly identifies as a transgender woman – and lawyers are asking for a lenient sentence, alleging that gender dysphoria fueled the attack.

According to court documents seen by local media outlets, Emily Claire Hari – the founder of the right-wing group ‘White Rabbits’ that bombed the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in the state – has claimed that she had been suffering from an “inner conflict” at the time.

Canada ‘ready to stay’ in Afghanistan ‘if at all possible’ past Aug. 31 deadline set by U.S. says weasel worded Trudeau

Tell Justin it’s Kabul Pride Week! That’ll get him over there in a flash.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada is prepared to keep its military personnel in Afghanistan after an Aug. 31 deadline set by the Americans for the withdrawal of their troops.

Trudeau made the announcement after meeting today in a virtual summit with fellow G7 leaders who were convening to discuss the crisis and the re-emergence of the Taliban as the country’s rulers.

“Canada is ready to stay beyond the Aug. 31 deadline if at all possible.

If at all possible? In other words not bloody likely but there’s an election so he’ll try to sound tough. No one trusts a word Justin says, not even Justin.

Here’s his out – US military has reportedly started pulling troops from Afghanistan — as Biden admin reportedly tells anyone left after 8/31 that they’re ‘on their own’
