Brigitte Bardot dies aged 91

Brigitte Bardot, the French actress turned political activist, has died at the age of 91.

The international sex symbol achieved fame with her film And God Created Woman, going on to embody the archetypal “sex kitten” role, before retiring from the screen and becoming an animal rights advocate.

In a statement, her foundation said: “The Brigitte Bardot Foundation announces with immense sadness the death of its founder and president, Madame Brigitte Bardot, a world-renowned actress and singer, who chose to abandon her prestigious career to dedicate her life and energy to animal welfare and her foundation.”

Proof the Border Is Historically Secure Can Be Found in CBP’s Monthly Stats

Lost in the din of a violent week is CBP’s release of its statistics for agency “encounters” for the month of November. They reveal that not only is the border secure, but historically secure and becoming more so. Illegal migrant “travel season” starts in February, however, and we’ll soon see how long it lasts, but for now the greatest border accomplishment of Trump II can be measured in the record low number of alien children who are attempting to cross illegally – news you likely won’t hear about anywhere else.

Canadian politics in the year ahead

The year 2025 was a sharp reminder of just how unpredictable Canadian politics can be. Events moved quickly, and long-held assumptions collapsed almost overnight.

At the start of last year, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was still clinging to power. The Liberals were far behind in the polls, and it seemed all but certain that Pierre Poilievre would soon lead a Conservative super-majority government.

We all know how that story ended.

Canada has a ‘disturbing undercurrent of Jew hatred,’ advocate Aviva Klompas says

Hamas support rally Toronto

After the October 7 attacks in Israel, Aviva Klompas noticed that rather than sympathy and support, what surfaced was a “disturbing undercurrent of Jew hatred that was apparently lying dormant in Canada.”

“The nature of what has exploded from under the surface is shocking, particularly for a country like Canada that prides itself on multiculturalism and the ability to live together,” said Klompas, a writer and the CEO and co-founder of Boundless, a think tank dedicated to educating groups about Israel and combatting antisemitism.

Ms. Klompas advised on the settlement of Syrian refugees.

AUBUT: Trudeau, Freeland, and Carney turned credentials, identity, and symbolism into substitutes for governing competence

The decline of merit is the story of modern Canada. It began as a slow corrosion under Justin Trudeau, whose rise was fuelled by name recognition and emotional politics rather than achievement. It deepened under Chrystia Freeland, who turned fiscal management into performance art. And it has continued under Mark Carney, whose credentials might suggest competence but whose actions have proven the opposite. These are not isolated examples; they are milestones on a national journey away from merit and toward mediocrity.

Just Call It Islam

Almost a quarter-century has passed since September 11, when 19 Islamic radicals murdered nearly 3,000 people in line with the blunt teaching of “The Verse of the Sword” (Quran 9:5). That cataclysm should have sufficed to cause Western leaders to examine the doctrines of the Muhammadan religion in order to understand why the killers carried out this crime.

But that didn’t happen. Instead, we can summarize the Western leaders’ response in two statements.

How to destroy a country, part 4

Introduce mass immigration. The white working class ‘betrayed’ the hard left when they failed to rise in the much longed-for proletarian revolution, and they failed to rise because they had become too affluent. The Marxist solution was to introduce a new, foreign-born ‘oppressed proletariat’ as a means of enabling Socialism’s march toward total power. The number of Third World immigrants in Britain runs into the millions. This deliberate racial dilution and dispossession of an indigenous people has never happened on such a scale – unless under threat or use of extreme violence.

‘Hiding their Jewish identity’: Professor warns antisemitism is making campuses intolerable for Jews

“Bondi was a warning shot,” cautions Cary Kogan, professor of psychology at the University of Ottawa. “If Western governments aren’t going to deal with the issue (of antisemitism), this is what we’re going to end up with. And I worry; the intelligence community has told us very clearly that there are bad actors here in Canada, and you know, the government needs to listen.”

The trans blob is still waging war on women

Around this time last year, I ended my spiked review-of-the-year piece with an optimistic flourish: ‘For the first time ever, I can say that 2025 will be the year the trans trend crashes.’ Twelve months on and I can’t decide whether I should feel smug or a total chump. To misquote the fox-bashing trans activist, Jolyon Maugham: ‘At a deeply technical level we won. At every substantive level we lost.’
