Why an amateur sleuth says he’s solved TWO of the world’s most gruesome unsolved murder cases.. and now the FBI is investigating

Carried out with gruesome, sadistic relish by killers who seemed to revel in their notoriety, these are murders which still transfix America today.

In 1947 an aspiring Hollywood actress known as the Black Dahlia was found dead in Los Angeles. Her mutilated body was severed clean in half at the waist, a grotesque smile carved into her cheeks.

Two decades later, the ‘Zodiac’ killer emerged from the shadows and plunged northern California into a world of fear. Stalking young couples under cover of darkness, this second monster claimed at least five victims and taunted the police and newspapers with letters and cryptograms, daring them to unravel his identity.

Can a Statue Be the Victim of Sexual Assault?

Can a statue be the victim of sexual assault? This is a very serious question that recently stirred up Parisians for several weeks. In the heart of Montmartre, the famous hill where artists and lovers of Paris have gathered for nearly two centuries, stands a bust of the Egyptian-born singer Dalida, known to the French for several immortal songs that have become part of the national musical heritage.

Like so many others, Dalida frequented Montmartre for many years and made it her home from 1962 until her death in 1987. She now rests for eternity in the Montmartre cemetery overlooking the hill.

Blacklock’s Reporter says internal 2024 memos show staff were instructed to come up with a rationale for the polling project as cabinet publicly pledged to rein in unnecessary expenditures.

GOLDSTEIN: Mark Carney says Justin Trudeau blew $200 billion on a failed climate strategy

After years of nonsense spouted by Canada’s Liberal government, Prime Minister Mark Carney acknowledged in year-end interviews with CBC that “Canada is not going to reach our 2030 and 2035 climate targets” under former PM Justin Trudeau’s climate change plan.

He said it had “too much regulation, not enough action” with a lot of talk “and then nothing happens,” thus admitting the failure of Trudeau’s taxpayer-financed, $200-billion-plus strategy.

In, out and just hanging on: A tumultuous year in politics for Justin Trudeau, Mark Carney and Pierre Poilievre

OTTAWA—By the time you read this it is entirely possible that everything has changed.

It’s been that kind of year.

Think back to January, when Mark Carney was just a former central banker quietly making phone calls to nervous Liberal MPs. Pierre Poilievre was cruising towards a Conservative majority government that appeared all but guaranteed. And Donald Trump was only getting started.

Navy ponders concept of Canadian-built amphibious landing ship for Arctic operations

Arctic Helicopter Patrol Barge – Almost on time and only a billion over budget

The commander of the Royal Canadian Navy is floating the idea of an ice-capable amphibious landing ship to move troops and equipment around the country’s Arctic — and perhaps elsewhere.

But Vice-Admiral Angus Topshee is quick not to get his hopes up — and has even, occasionally, taken pains to downplay it.

How terrorism changed Christmas

Christmas Market Anti-Muslim Terrorist Patrol

Christmas is traditionally a time of joy, merriment and peace on Earth. Not so in the little town of Erbach, Germany, this year, where depraved individuals destroyed a living nativity scene, tortured two donkeys, vandalised and looted the Christmas market, and proceeded to smash up and defecate in a nearby Protestant church. Tidings of comfort indeed.

No luck in central Brussels, either, where the head of a baby Jesus was removed and stolen from a nativity scene. Another Jesus met a similar fate in Amiens, France. The plexiglass was smashed, the infant’s head knocked off, and other nativity figures damaged. The perplexed president of the neighbourhood committee informed a radio station that ‘the nativity scene has existed for about 30 years and nothing like this has ever happened.’

In the West, peace means “live and let live.” In Islam, peace means the world has bent the knee to Allah.

Our love is greater than their hate.

That is the sign I received after Oct 7-from a Jewish organization.

This was their response to the barbaric attack by civilian Muslims on Jews who had provided work and healthcare to them in the name of peace and love.

Our love is greater than their hate? So what? Who cares? How does that protect the Jews from the barbaric, evil, terrorist organization called Islam which seems to be hiding behind “religion?”

How Iran’s Sanctions-Evasions and Willing Support Retinue Keep It Alive

No matter how many sanctions are imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran, its regime continues to survive, adapt and expand its influence. This endurance is not the result of economic strength or internal legitimacy, but of a carefully constructed system designed to evade restrictions, exploit loopholes, and rely on foreign actors willing to ignore or undermine international enforcement.

As long as the Iranian regime can breathe through these openings, sanctions alone will not weaken it; instead, the regime will continue to fund repression at home, empower militant proxies abroad, and project dominance across the region.

The year of Trump terror is Canada’s wake-up call.

On a Saturday night in late October, I was at a wedding reception, surreptitiously checking my phone for the Blue Jays’ score.

That’s when I saw the text message from a journalist.

“Any chance of a quick comment re Trump’s latest insanity?”

I silently spoke the words uttered by countless Canadians, countless times this year: What’s he done now?

You can feel the Star’s terror!
