Black Freedmen struggle for recognition as tribal citizens

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — As the U.S. faces a reckoning over its history of racism, some Native American tribal nations that once owned slaves also are grappling with their own mistreatment of Black people.

When Native American tribes were forced from their ancestral homelands in the southeastern United States to what is now Oklahoma in the 1800s — known as the Trail of Tears — thousands of Black slaves owned by tribal members also were removed and forced to provide manual labor along the way. Once in Oklahoma, slaves often toiled on plantation-style farms or were servants in tribal members’ homes.

Profiteers of Biden Administration’s Open Borders Policy

Malfeasance has it rewards.

It has been said that “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”

The border crisis endangers national security, public health and public safety, yet for the Biden administration, the border crisis that creates consternation for most Americans, incredibly, is viewed as a success story by Biden and the radicalized Democrat Party.

Why are the police handcuffing street preachers?

Why are the police handcuffing street preachers?

British police are arresting and investigating people over entirely legal speech.

This week police in Uxbridge, Greater London, handcuffed, arrested and detained a 71-year-old grandfather for fear he might have offended someone.

Naturally, the whole incident was filmed and uploaded to YouTube, where we can watch in horror at our hard-fought freedoms slipping through our fingers.

How science has been corrupted

How science has been corrupted

The pandemic has revealed a darkly authoritarian side to expertise

When I was small, my father would conduct experiments around the house. When you blow across the top of a wine bottle, how many modes of vibration are there? How do you get the higher notes?

Another time, the matter under investigation might be the “angle of repose” of a pile of sand, as in an hour-glass. Does it depend on the particle size? On their shape? Do these factors determine the rate at which an hour-glass empties?

Kim Potter – Don’t Confuse an Accident with a Crime

For those who think now-former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter should be charged with a crime – let alone murder – I have a simple question: if a surgeon accidentally nicks an artery and kills a patient when she mistakes the scalpel in her hand for a prober, should she be charged with murder, or even manslaughter?

Answer: no.

After all, the surgeon did this thing we all do: she made a mistake. She had no ill intent, let alone malice.

Justin Trudeau’s mishandling of sexual misconduct in the military strikes yet another blow to his feminist credentials

MONTREAL—News of the appointment this week of former Supreme Court justice Louise Arbour to conduct yet another external review of sexual misconduct in the Canadian military predictably went down like a lead balloon.

Arbour’s qualifications for the job are not in question. On the contrary, she comes to it with a solid reputation for bringing a no-nonsense approach to such tasks.

To this day, her 1996 report on events at Kingston’s Prison for Women still stands out for the clarity of both its findings and its recommendations.

But if the recent past is any indication, Arbour’s strong credentials may well be wasted on the Liberal government.

Miami Imam: If You Love Jesus, Islam Is the Religion for You

Dr. Fadi Yousef Kablawi, imam at the Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah in north Miami, struck a blow for interfaith harmony recently when he preached a sermon in which declared: “If you truly love Jesus, this [Islam] is the religion for you.” Kablawi’s sermon was an excellent illustration of why Muslim persecution of Christians continues unabated in Nigeria and elsewhere.

Rex Murphy: A pandemic’s not an ideal time to hold an election. But can Trudeau resist?

I have been struck by a sudden insight.

I have so few, I thought I’d give the announcement its own one-sentence paragraph.

It’s not Newton level — you know, apple, gravity, laws of planetary motion. But it can hold its own. Here it is.

Pandemics are never an ideal time to hold elections.

Can the Conservatives exploit Junior’s criminally negligent handling of the pandemic? Doubtful.

The carbon tax is starting to bite. 99 dollar plywood? Oh that’s right the Con’s have their own Carbon tax plan.

Junior doesn’t need an election, the Bloc and NDP are partners in crime and ensure he remains PM.

U.S. Corporations Critical Of Georgia Voting Bill Linked To ‘Nightmare’ Conditions In Chinese Factories, Forced Labor

Corporate America quickly condemned and chastised Georgia over its recently-passed voting legislation — suggesting the bill “undermin[es]” American democracy, and some going as far as moving business away from the state in response. Additionally, hundreds of corporations, celebrities and executives announced their unified opposition against any “discriminatory legislation” that “prevent[s] any eligible voter from having an equal and fair opportunity to cast a ballot.”

I find this to be a perfect snapshot of the degeneracy of our ruling class.

Is Black Lives Matter Really Left-Wing?

Black Lives Matter is now more powerful than it has ever been, and it’s just getting started. But will the rise of black nationalism conflict with the rise of other radical factions of the modern Left?

Tucker Carlson said back in 2020 that the Black Lives Matter movement had become so powerful that it was now essentially operating as a political party, and held just as much influence. If the recent verdict in the Derek Chauvin case is any indication, then BLM has already become more than a party; it is now its own institution. From the nationwide race riots of last summer through today to directly intimidating defense witnesses, there is no question that BLM made this verdict happen; even the jurors will (indirectly) admit to this.

Canadian throuples and the future of parenting – A legal decision about polyamory is a bad omen for family life

Progressive campaigning, by definition, seeks to bring into being a desired world that — we’re told — would be an improvement over the existing cruel and ugly one. Recently, such campaigning has taken a radical new turn: the pursuit of legal reforms designed to enable everyone to bring into being the particular version of the world they wish to inhabit — often regardless of the degree to which that conflicts with others’ versions of reality.

Woke Up Call: Academic who backed ‘decolonising’ curriculum dropped from museum board

The chair of an influential museum group has resigned after an academic whose work calls for “decolonising” the curriculum was dropped from the board, amid reports of a government-sanctioned culture war.

… In a sign that ministers believe that a battle against “woke” culture plays well with voters, there have been a number of recent attempts to ratchet up a culture war. Following the Black Lives Matter protests last summer, Dowden threatened to cut funding to museums and galleries that removed statues associated with British colonialism.

In a warning to institutions last October, Dowden wrote: “As publicly funded bodies, you should not be taking actions motivated by activism or politics. The significant support that you receive from the taxpayer is an acknowledgment of the important cultural role you play for the entire country.”

Good for Great Britain.
