Pharmaceutical genius Trudeau offers reassurance on AstraZeneca safety as European countries suspend use

MONTREAL — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau offered reassurances on the safety of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on Monday as the list of European countries suspending its use due to safety concerns grew.

Germany joined others in Europe pausing their use of the AstraZeneca vaccine over reports of blood clots in some recipients, even though European regulators say there’s no evidence the shot is to blame.

Erin O’Toole says he needs 1 million more votes in the next election. Where will he find them?

Erin O’Toole says he needs 1 million more votes in the next election. Where will he find them?

“…What we have to do is grow in Ontario and in British Columbia in particular, and in Quebec. We have to make sure we have a million more Conservatives going to the ballot in the next election. And that’s going to mean we have to grow who we’re speaking for,” O’Toole said.

“We need to reach out … We have to enlist more people in our mission. And I’ll tell you, reaching out is working. Because Mr. Trudeau, Mr. Singh, all the parties on the left, they don’t stand up for working families anymore. They stand up for protest groups and people on Twitter more than they do the pipe fitter, or the electrician, or someone that wants to get back to work so they can save up for their kids’ education.”

“We’re going to fight relentlessly for these people.”

Beats me how supporting mass immigration to please corporate interests is “standing up for working families.”

Policy that in the real world translates to a “A smaller piece of the pie for you” doesn’t sound like it will win over hearts and minds.

Perhaps it’s just too nuanced for me to understand and the conservative brain trust can explain it all to to me.

Pope Francis Calls for ‘New World Order’ After the Pandemic but that won’t include blessing same sex unions

Pope Francis Calls for ‘New World Order’ After the Pandemic but that won’t include blessing same sex unions

ROME — Pope Francis insists in a new book things will never be the same in a post-pandemic world, calling instead for the establishment of a “new world order.”

In a book-length interview with journalist Domenico Agasso titled God and the World to Come, scheduled for release in Italian on Tuesday, the pontiff reiterates his case for the Great Reset with a shift away from financial speculation, fossil fuels, and military build-up toward a green economy based on inclusiveness.

Update… Catholic Church ‘cannot bless same-sex unions’

The Catholic Church does not have the power to bless same-sex unions, the Vatican office responsible for doctrine has said.

It is “impossible” for God to “bless sin”, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) said on Monday.

But the CDF did note the “positive elements” in same-sex relationships.

In October, Pope Francis said in a documentary that he thought same-sex couples should be allowed to have “civil unions”.

“There’s no good reason why 65% of people working in science and engineering should be white men,” Khan tweeted on Saturday, citing figures from the British Science Association. Khan went on to claim that “inequality costs people’s futures & the economy billions,” but reassured voters that “we’re working on fixing it.”

Family of UK officer called racial slur by Harry says royals aren’t racist

The family of a Pakistani army officer called a racial slur by Prince Harry in 2006 claims Meghan Markle’s allegations of racism in the royal family are “wrong,” according to a report.

The Duke of Sussex apologized three years later for calling his then-Sandhurst colleague Ahmed Raza Khan a “Paki” in a video that he shot himself, The Sun reported.

Harry also used a racial slur against another comrade-in-arms in the clip, which he made a year after sparking outrage by dressing up as a Nazi at a party, according to the outlet.

I liked Harry till he was Meghanated.

Rogers signs deal to buy Shaw in transaction valued at $26B

Rogers Communications has signed a deal to buy Shaw Communications in a transaction valued at $26 billion, including debt, which would create Canada’s No. 2 cellular operator — but is likely to face stiff regulatory scrutiny.

Under the plan, Rogers will pay $40.50 in cash for each of Shaw’s issued and outstanding class A and class B shares. Shaw’s class B shares closed at $23.90 on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Friday.

As part of the transaction, the companies said Rogers will invest $2.5 billion in 5G networks over the next five years across Western Canada.

Is this really a good idea? In Crony Capitalism Canada it is!

Rogers fines 91-year-old woman unable to return equipment due to lockdown

The family of a 91-year-old woman is outraged Rogers had demanded she pay hundreds of dollars for failing to return phone and internet equipment while her long-term care home was under lockdown.

The family cancelled those services for Joan Davis in early May after noticing her dementia was worsening and she was struggling to use them.

They kept basic cable to help her pass the time. Her daughter, Lori Davis, says Rogers told the family a technician would pick up the equipment, but never showed.

Ontario reports 1268 new Covid cases … and no border reopening plan

Ontario reports 1268 new Covid cases … and no border reopening plan

The Canada-U.S. border’s been shut down for a year — and there’s no reopening plan

The one-year anniversary of the quasi-shutdown of the Canada-U.S. border will come and go next week, with no end in sight to disruptions that have affected lives, businesses, and communities touching the world’s so-called longest undefended frontier.

Once again, the tightening will be extended on March 21 for another month as it has every month since the pandemic crashed onto this continent last year.

Once again, the people most affected will wonder what the plan is for reopening and what sorts of public-health stats would allow regular travel to resume.

The truth is: There is no plan.

Sexual Assaults on and Forced Conversion of Christian Women

“With their faces covered, they looked like thieves, but instead they wanted sex and started beating me up. As I tried to disentangle myself, I recognised Mohammed Alam’s face [a neighbor]. They kept beating me; I was scared and helpless. I asked for some water and they gave me a glass mixed with a sleeping pill that made me unconscious for three days.”

When her husband returned home from work on “the next morning he found the door open and his wife on the floor, undressed and unconscious.”

China’s internet was hailed as a path to democracy but the Communist Party reshaped it in its own image

In 2000, then US president Bill Clinton famously said in a speech that he was confident the rise of the internet would push China towards democracy.

“There’s no question China has been trying to crack down on the internet,” he said. “Good luck. That’s sort of like trying to nail Jell-O to the wall.”

There were 22.5 million internet users in China in early 2001. By last year, that figure had ballooned to 989 million – more than three times the entire population of the United States and exceeding the 639 million internet users in India, according to the state-run China Internet Network Information Centre.

The Poor Boston Marathon Bomber Is Suffering, and He Wants Justice

All the Boston Marathon jihad murderer Dzhokhar Tsarnaev did was murder three people; why is everyone being so mean to him? Young Tsarnaev is suffering, and he wants you to feel his pain: CBS Boston reported Wednesday that he has filed a hand-written lawsuit claiming that he has been mistreated in prison. This complaint shows that the killer, besides being a confirmed jihadi with the deaths of several infidels on his record, has also mastered what has proved to be in many cases the most lucrative game of all: the game of victimhood.

The Chinese TV commercial that the NBA doesn’t want its players to see

The National Basketball Association has climbed into bed with the Chinese Communist Party because the nation it rules is a huge market that seems to be in love with basketball.  So eager to please the ruling communists is the NBA that fans with protest signs supporting Hong Kong democracy protestors were kicked out of games.

The NBA does, however, love protests against the United States, especially Black Lives Matter protests, even though those have led to death and destruction in this country.

Big White Lies

A revitalized and restorationist Republican Party will never take shape until white America finally gets off its knees.

A new poll of more than 1,000 registered voters released by Echelon Insights offers a startling glimpse into the psyche of Joe Biden supporters. Among Democrats, the top three issues over which they say they are “extremely” or “very concerned” are “Donald Trump supporters,” “white nationalism,” and “systemic racism.”

Among the actions Biden took during his first week in the White House was to rescind President Trump’s ban on critical race theory training in the federal government. We can now expect the cultural revolution to resume in the federal bureaucracy, a bureaucracy that will now explicitly demonize huge segments of what is (supposed to be) our country.

Will FBI ‘Chats’ Send Conservatives To Prison?

Across the nation, FBI agents are swooping down upon conservative activists, Trump supporters, and anyone suspected of any tie to the January 6 clash at the Capitol. Conservative author Candace Owens tweeted on March 3: “About 10 of my friends who attended Trump’s speech but DID NOT go to Capitol building thereafter have had the FBI turn up at their door to ask them why they went to D.C. … Our FBI is trying to scare conservatives against ever gathering in the future.”

Actually, the potential problem is far worse for people targeted by the feds. FBI chief Christopher Wray, who is scrambling to deliver the indictments that will please his congressional overlords, says the agency is conducting 2,000 domestic terrorism investigations. Few Americans recognize how badly the legal playing field is tilted against them.
