Growing list of Canadian politicians caught travelling abroad despite pandemic

TORONTO — An expanding list of Canadian politicians are in hot water after being caught vacationing or travelling abroad amid a worsening COVID-19 pandemic at home.

Current federal public health guidance says to avoid all non-essential travel outside of Canada, something Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and health authorities have repeatedly reiterated in public briefings.

Nearly 800 killed in Chicago as murders skyrocket in 2020

Shootings and murders skyrocketed in Chicago last year, after three years of declining violence in the city.

In 2020, the city saw 774 murders, an increase of more than 50% compared to the 506 murders in 2019, according to data compiled by the Chicago Sun-Times. Ninety percent of Chicago Police Department districts reported more murders in 2020 than in 2019, and nearly a quarter of homicides occurred in just three districts on the west side of the city.

When Amir Abdulraman and his 17-year-old friend were pulled over by police on New Years Eve, there was already a warrant out for the older teen’s arrest.

Abdulraman, 19, was wanted for assault when Sgt. Andrew Harnett initiated a traffic stop in the city’s northeast. The vehicle he stopped struck and dragged him, killing him.

Both Abdulrahman and the 17-year-old youth are now charged with the first-degree murder of Harnett.

Hollywood: No Man’s Land

Only beggarly “male feminists” and posturing macho women survive — barely.

Sherlock Holmes may have deduced where we would be a hundred years later:

“There’s an east wind coming, Watson.”

“I think not, Holmes. It is very warm.”

“Good old Watson. You’re the one fixed point in a changing age. There’s an east wind coming all the same, such a wind as never blew on England yet. It will be cold and bitter, Watson, and a good many of us may wither before its blast. But it’s God’s own wind nonetheless, and a cleaner, better, stronger land will lie in the sunshine when the storm has cleared.”

BBC Says Jesus Was a Black Palestinian

As I noted in discussing Hilaria Baldwin yesterday, to be white today is to be evil, as far as the Western intelligentsia is concerned. And so it was not a big surprise when, a week before Christmas, the BBC World Service radio show Heart and Soul aired a segment called “Black Jesus,” and has since then rerun it more than once. It’s more “realistic,” the BBC assures us, to see Jesus as a “darker skinned Palestinian.” Realistic or no, it’s certainly in line with the mythology of the age, in which only those who are darker skinned could possibly be righteous. In such a context, how could the one whom Christians worship as the Savior of the world have anything but the darkest possible skin?

UK hits daily virus record, is urged to keep schools closed

LONDON (AP) — With daily coronavirus infections surging as a result of a new virus variant, the British government faced mounting pressure Saturday from teachers’ unions to keep schools in England closed for at least another two weeks.

The government, which oversees schools in England, has already decided to keep all schools in London closed next week to try to stem new infections. Unions want the policy extended across the whole of England, expressing fears about the health of both teachers and children.

Adam Carolla: Mainstream Media, Big Tech Rigged Election for Biden

Adam Carolla never jumped aboard the Trump Train.

The two worked together on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice years ago, a union which gave the podcaster a unique perspective on the future President.

Still, it wasn’t enough for Carolla to don a MAGA hat. Partisan politics isn’t his style, and his eclectic positions put him all over the ideological map.

Police Officers Were Shot At. Ilhan Omar Called Their Response ‘Murder’

Ilhan Omar called the shooting of an armed suspect who shot at police “murder” in a Thursday tweet.

In response to a tweet from a news reporter, Omar, a Minnesota House Democrat, denounced the shooting of 23 year-old Dolal Idd as “state-sanctioned murder.” She further complained, “MPD is a joke, this isn’t transparency or accountability.”
