Canada’s environmental ‘realism’ looks more like surrender

Last week, the United Kingdom did something all too rare: it chose leadership by backing science and prioritizing public safety. The Labour government announced it would ban new oil and gas licences in the North Sea, strengthen a windfall tax and accelerate phasing out of fossil-fuel subsidies.

These are not symbolic gestures. They are an acknowledgment that the global energy system is shifting and that mature economies must shift with it.

Under the United Kingdom’s Communist-Islamist alliance energy impoverishment is a feature not a bug.

Besides Carney is at best playing a long game, he wants Canada desperately poor as well.

“Why Not Celebrate in Damascus?” AfD Asks As Syrians Hold Rallies in Germany

German migration policy came under renewed fire after the right-wing opposition AfD sharply criticised large gatherings of Syrians celebrating the first anniversary of the fall of the Assad regime—not in Damascus, but on the streets of German cities.

As many critics have pointed out: the scenes are evidence that Germany’s approach to asylum and integration has fundamentally failed.

Time to send the Syrians back.

Liberal Party opened the door to more than a million foreign students working in Canada without ever examining how the move would affect young Canadians

Ottawa says it opened the door to more than a million foreign students working in Canada without ever examining how the move would affect young Canadians trying to find jobs.

Blacklocks’ Reporter says the immigration department now acknowledges it relied on a single survey sent only to foreign students, even as unemployment for Canadian students climbed above 16% in several provinces.

‘Vigilantes’ to defend town from migrants

Residents of an East Sussex town have created a “vigilante” group in response to Home Office plans to house 500 illegal immigrants in a former Army barracks.

Members of the “Crowborough Patrol” said they would walk in the town centre day and night to be a “visible deterrent” to “unwanted activity”.

As many as 540 single, male asylum seekers will be housed in a 37-acre cadet training camp near Crowborough, as part of a Home Office bid to reduce the use of asylum hotels.

Saskatchewan Introduces Involuntary Drug Treatment Legislation

Saskatchewan has introduced involuntary drug treatment legislation on the final day of the fall legislature sitting.

If passed, the Compassionate Intervention Act, Bill 48, would allow those with addictions to be committed to treatment without their consent.

Premier Scott Moe said the legislation will allow the province to “put families first” by providing treatment and care to those “unable to seek help on their own because of their severe addiction.”

American Taxpayers Are Paying Somalis Millions To Not Assimilate

Civil war and famine spurred many Somalians to immigrate to the United States in 1991 and settle in Minnesota. That was 34 years ago. Somalians could have assimilated into U.S. culture by now, but American taxpayers have been roped into funding programs that coddle Somalians’ Third-World culture and disincentivize their assimilation.

The myth of unified Indigenous opposition to a West Coast pipeline

The political reaction from Indigenous groups to the new energy agreement between Alberta and Ottawa so far paints a seemingly unambiguous picture of fierce resistance to any plan for a new oil pipeline to the West Coast.

But that wall of opposition is not as clear-cut as it appears.

It’s true that the Assembly of First Nations (AFN), which advocates for more than 600 communities, voted unanimously to defend the northern B.C. tanker ban and to urge the federal government to withdraw the said memorandum of understanding (MOU) last week.

But look a little closer, and a more nuanced discourse starts to emerge, suggesting a complex, but not impossible, path forward for any such pipeline to materialize.

Elon Musk is right about the EU

Europhiles – the most maddening tribe on the internet – are coming for Elon Musk. After Musk dared to blaspheme against the Brussels bureaucracy that they so fervently simp for, they called him a stooge of Vladimir Putin. ‘Putin wants a weaker EU’, said the EU-loving centrists of Renew Europe, and now Musk is doing his bidding by calling for a ‘break-up [of] the EU’. It’s the same low trick every time – utter one word of dissent against their beloved EU oligarchy and they’ll have you down as a running dog of Russia.

The Meaning of Hate

In November, the Daily Sceptic reported that a policeman had told a Christian preacher that some words painted on his van “could be seen as hate speech in the wrong context”. The words were a Biblical verse: Chapter 3, verse 16 of the Gospel according to John, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.”

Margaret Atwood: The Handmaid’s Tale has become ‘more and more plausible’

Margaret Atwood -Old Elbows Up Crank

Margaret Atwood has said the plot of her book The Handmaid’s Tale, which tells a story of an authoritarian regime under which women are forced to reproduce, has become “more and more plausible” in recent years.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Atwood said she believed the plot was “bonkers” when she first developed the concept for the novel because the US was the “democratic ideal” at the time.

“It was the land of freedom … and people in Europe just didn’t believe that it could ever go like that,” she said.

“I’ve always been somebody who has never believed it can’t happen here. It can happen anywhere, given the circumstances.”

Has this crank ever raised her voice against Islam and sharia law?
