Thinking of adding solar panels to your home? Here’s what this Ontario man learned after spending $50,000 on them

In the push for green energy, more people are installing solar panels, given that there are government incentives and rebates that can help with the cost.

However, before buying them, there are many factors to consider. They may lower your electricity bill, but it could take a long time to break even and installing them could affect your home’s resale value and insurance premiums.

What a waste.

‘This is disgusting’: N.S. Premier slams judge’s order prohibiting poppies while on duty

Nova Scotia’s premier is slamming a recent order prohibiting workers in certain court facilities from wearing poppies while on duty.

In a post on his X account, Premier Tim Houston said the order was issued under the guise that the poppy is a political statement.

“This is disgusting,” he said. “The poppy is not a political statement. It is a symbol of remembrance and respect for the fallen and those who served and continue to serve our country. Poppies have been worn in Canada since 1921.”

Trump Is Not To Blame For Democrats Electing Violent Extremists

While liberal America is justifiably triumphant about Tuesday night’s election results, a lot of professionals are quietly worried about extremism infecting the party. Certainly, electing a mayor of New York who’s an unfortunate hellbroth of communism, Islamism, and “defund the police,” is not someone you want defining your party nationally.

Judge, Discriminate, and Hold Prejudices

Theodore Dalrymple is one of my favorite living writers. He makes complex notions seem obvious and self-evident while employing a sporadic dry wit. His is reliably enjoyable reading that feels like a guilty pleasure.

He has a fascinating history as an English psychologist working in some of Britain’s slums and its prisons. He encounters the modern philosophies through the people who live them, who have really internalized the concept that their crimes were the fault of anything except their own will: their bad upbringing, their parents, their anxiety, their addictions, their ancestry, and so on.

The Reaction of My Mental Health Nursing Students to Being Shown an Image of a Black Murderer and White Victim Shows Why Ideology is Putting Us All at Risk

With a spring in his step, senior lecturer Jeroen Ensink left his home in Holloway, London, to send cards to his friends and family, announcing the arrival of his baby daughter. Seconds later his life was over. A young black male (the relevance of which will soon be clear) suddenly pounced on him, and in a state of frenzy savagely stabbed his random victim. Femi Nandap, a psychiatric patient, was arrested and sent to a high-security institution.

The fight against climate change appears to be officially dead

When Microsoft co-founder and global philanthropist Bill Gates recently released a 17-page memo recalibrating his position on climate change, he knew controversy would ensue. Still, it is difficult to overstate the impact of his observations, and the alarm, disappointment and bewilderment it has caused.

In some quarters, though, Mr. Gates was met with pure elation. “I (we) just won the war on the climate change hoax,” U.S. President Donald Trump said on his social-media platform Truth Social. “Bill Gates has finally admitted that he was completely wrong on the issue.”

Ritzy suburb of NJ’s new governor stunned as cops pounce on ‘yuppie jihadi’ neighbor at his $1.2M home over alleged bomb plot

Norman Rockwell’s Jihad

A wealthy New Jersey suburb that is home to the state’s new governor-elect has been upended by the arrest of two teenage terror suspects, as details emerged about their alleged plans.

Milo Sedarat and Tomas Kaan Jimenez-Guzel, both 19, were taken into custody on Wednesday, after the FBI uncovered a plot to bomb gay bars in Detroit in an ISIS-inspired attack on Halloween.

The alleged scheme was uncovered last week by the FBI and the NYPD’s Intelligence Bureau, which said the bombing was intended to copy ISIS’s terror attack in Paris in 2015.

Canada’s Low-Scrutiny Immigrant Mortgages Rebrand Risk As Inclusion

Canada’s recent real estate boom—and bust—was followed by an immigration surge charting a similar trajectory. Together, they expose generous high-leverage mortgage programs that shift risk off lender books and onto public and private insurers. These programs enabled buyers with minimal credit and few local ties to purchase homes at peak prices. With values now plunging, the lack of transparency raises questions about how these will perform—and whether the loans amplify the market’s downside risks.

Jamie Sarkonak: Immigration levels plan doesn’t solve Canada’s overcapacity problem

The immigration levels plan Prime Minister Mark Carney released Tuesday addresses Canada’s population overload in the same way that partially mending a plumbing leak helps drain a flooded basement. It doesn’t.

Carney intends to give 380,000 people permanent resident status per year from 2026 to 2028 through regular streams; over the next two years, another 148,000 refugees and work permit holders will be granted PR as well — which means not everyone is going home, despite their temporary status. The government will also bring in 385,000 temporary residents (workers and study permit holders) in 2026 and 370,000 in each of the two years after. Altogether, that’s over 800,000 per year.

Poilievre is right about Trudeau – but the press won’t have it

For the past couple of weeks, since Pierre Poilievre appeared on YouTube’s Northern Perspective, members of the dominant media in Canada have sounded like scorched rats howling in protest about his unfair comments regarding former prime minister Justin Trudeau. The problem with their frustrations seems to be more about what he said than about the facts. Poilievre simply recited some basic knowledge that everyone is familiar with. His conclusions irritate members of the Laurentian media because they bear responsibility for helping the RCMP keep this matter underreported.
