Mystery Solved: This Is What It Takes for Local Cops to Arrest Somebody at Portland ICE HQ

Antifa riots and mayhem at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters in Portland, Oregon, have been on the wane since the wintry rains began to blanket the city.

Until Friday night, that is, when Portland Police made a rare arrest.

Friday night is when Portland Police arrested one of the costumed weirdos populating the scrum of leftover Antifa and Trantifa activists who collect outside the ICE HQ and attack federal officers to keep them from rolling up bad guys.

The alleged attacks, hatched by the so-called pro-Palestine Turtle Island Liberation Front, were discovered by law enforcement after four of its members were allegedly caught testing out the pipe bombs they planned to plant at five LA businesses.

The press release announcing the move was issued in Hungarian and English by the American embassy in Budapest. Not coincidentally, Thomas G. DiNanno, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, was in Hungary that day for what was his first official visit abroad since he took office in October.

Why the U.S. Is Going After Antifa’s Money in Europe

The U.S. Department of State on Friday announced rewards of up to $10 million for information leading to the disruption of the financial networks of several European Antifa organisations, marking a turning point in Western security policy.

For the first time, the U.S. government is directly, formally, and decisively targeting violent far-left groups operating in Europe, treating them as an international terrorist threat, rather than a mere radical protest movement. The decision reflects a shift in U.S. security policy under the new administration, following its National Security Strategy, which identifies violent ideological movements as a growing transnational threat.

End of Impunity: Antifa, Public Enemy No. 1

On November 13, 2025, the US State Department added four European terrorist organizations to its list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs): Antifa Ost (Germany), the International Revolutionary Front (Italy), Armed Proletarian Justice (Greece) and Revolutionary Class Self-Defense (Greece).

This decision by the US administration was based on overwhelming evidence: knife and hammer attacks, shootings, bombings and the use of improvised explosive devices that targeted civilians, public infrastructure and private businesses.

German Government Promotes Antifa With Publicly-Funded Guides to Political Violence

While some European countries have hastened to follow US President Donald Trump’s example in designating Antifa as a terrorist organisation, Germany is not one of them. In fact, the German Government actively promotes Antifa.

Thus, as first disclosed by German journalist Stefan Frank on the Achse des Guten (‘Axis of Good’) blog, last year the German Government funded a full-fledged “guide for Antifa thugs”, as the title of Frank’s piece puts it. The description alludes to the Antifa movement’s well-known proclivity for violence. The brochure itself is titled Nazis Hate These Tricks: 20 Reflections on How to Combat Right-Wing Extremism. It was funded, believe it or not, by the German Ministry of Family Affairs – or, per its full title at the time, the Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth – as well as one other German public agency.
