A furious passer-by confronted Just Stop Oil protesters today after a ranting man hurled a female activist to the ground and smashed another’s phone.

Extinction Rebellion co-founder Roger Hallam has taken to Twitter to share his frustration in an 11-point thread after he was served carrots and a handful of potatoes for dinner as the ‘vegan option’ in hospital.

Mr Hallam posted a photo of an almost empty plate from his bed which had just a portion of carrots on it, writing 391 words on the environmental benefits of going vegan – but did admit he had already eaten the ‘six’ potatoes that were served on the side.

The controversial environmentalist, 56, who also helped form eco mobs Insulate Britain and Just Stop Oil, has been in hospital after ‘crushing’ his leg during an accident while riding his bike.

Activists protesting at what they see as too sluggish government action to combat climate change glued themselves to streets all over the German capital, Berlin, on Monday, causing severe traffic disruption.

The group behind the protests, Last Generation, is calling on the German government to take more drastic measures to cut greenhouse emissions, including stopping the use of all fossil fuels by 2030 and imposing an overall speed limit on highways.

In a video set to emotional piano music posted on Twitter last night, activists from XR offshoot Animal Rising – formerly Animal Rebellion – claimed Merseyside Police officers and security guards from G4S broke their bones, unleashed dogs and used pepper-spray on them.

The World Snooker Championship has been interrupted by a protestor who climbed on a table at The Crucible and covered it in an orange powder.

The protestor, who appeared to be wearing a ‘Just Stop Oil’ t-shirt, did so during a game between Robert Milkins and Joe Perry.

Florence mayor physically intervenes to stop climate activists from defacing ancient building

A mayor has been likened to Superman after springing into action to stop climate activists who were spraying paint on an ancient city building.

Florence mayor Dario Nardella intervened to stop activists defacing the facade of Palazzo Vecchio, the city’s town hall building, with bright orange paint.
