Greenpeace must pay pipeline company nearly $667 million over Standing Rock protests, jury says

(Reuters) – Greenpeace must pay a Texas-based pipeline company nearly $667 million in damages for the environmental advocacy group’s role in 2016-2017 protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota, a jury said Wednesday.

The verdict in North Dakota state court came after two days of deliberations in a trial where pipeline company Energy Transfer accused Greenpeace of paying protesters to disrupt construction of the pipeline unlawfully and spreading falsehoods about the controversial project, located near the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.

Anthony Furey: Guilbeault’s Talk of Halting Roads Investment Makes It Clear His Policies Can’t Be Taken Seriously

While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has rightly been criticized for going overboard with climate activism zealotry, Environment and Climate Change Minister Steven Guilbeauilt’s latest remarks on climate, electric vehicles, and public roads are on a totally different level.

As Calgary Herald columnist Don Braid put it, Guilbeault’s remarks are “so far out on the crazy edge of climate activism that it was easy to confuse his own Twitter account with the one that parodies him every day.”

From Science to a Suicidal Cult

Replete with terrorist fanatics and an anti-human worldview.

The death in prison last week of ecoterrorist Theodore Kaczynski, the notorious Unabomber who in the Nineties killed three people and wounded 23 with package-bombs. The occasion of his death reminds us how an environmental movement that started by focusing on improving human well-being––providing clean air and water, and practicing prudent resource management–– has devolved into an irrational cult replete with terrorist fanatics and Disneyesque fantasies about humanity’s relationship with the natural world.

Extinction Rebellion founder posts furious 391-word 11-point Twitter tirade after hospital staff served him with boiled carrots for dinner

Extinction Rebellion co-founder Roger Hallam has taken to Twitter to share his frustration in an 11-point thread after he was served carrots and a handful of potatoes for dinner as the ‘vegan option’ in hospital.

Mr Hallam posted a photo of an almost empty plate from his bed which had just a portion of carrots on it, writing 391 words on the environmental benefits of going vegan – but did admit he had already eaten the ‘six’ potatoes that were served on the side.

The controversial environmentalist, 56, who also helped form eco mobs Insulate Britain and Just Stop Oil, has been in hospital after ‘crushing’ his leg during an accident while riding his bike.

They should break his legs.

German climate protesters glue themselves to Berlin streets

Let them become one with the environment.

Activists protesting at what they see as too sluggish government action to combat climate change glued themselves to streets all over the German capital, Berlin, on Monday, causing severe traffic disruption.

The group behind the protests, Last Generation, is calling on the German government to take more drastic measures to cut greenhouse emissions, including stopping the use of all fossil fuels by 2030 and imposing an overall speed limit on highways.

IN-DEPTH: RCMP Shares New Details on Pipeline Attacks by ‘Anarchist’ Protesters

The RCMP has shared new information regarding masked, axe-wielding protesters who descended on a Coastal GasLinks pipeline worksite in Houston, British Columbia, in February last year.

The RCMP has not yet made arrests—and has said little about the investigation since—but Chief Supt. John Brewer told The Epoch Times recently that they have suspects and they have been building up strong evidence against them for more than a year in the hopes of presenting “the best investigative package” to ensure a likely conviction.

When anarchists attack

I’d start my investigation by tailing this asshole.

How police say a peaceful, Indigenous-led protest over a B.C. pipeline was hijacked by violent outsiders

A security guard was swarmed in a truck near a worksite by a group of people in masks and camouflage firing flare guns. He was then forced to flee into the dead of night, while the assailants escaped.

When the RCMP released those details last week about a recent incident along the Coastal GasLink pipeline project near Houston, B.C., they could have copied and pasted them from a news release they issued more than a year ago.

But that’s where the comparison ends.

BUT WHITE SUPREMACISTS ARE THE REAL THREAT!
