In 2020, college and university presidents lined up to issue statements about George Floyd’s tragic death, despite the event’s lack of any direct connection to higher education. They were much quieter after Charlie Kirk’s horrific murder last month, even though that incident was a direct assault on the very purpose of their institutions.

Kirk was assassinated as he debated students on a college campus. This heinous attack stoked concerns across American universities about safety and the free exchange of ideas in academia.

Left-wing ideology holds that conservative speech causes “harm.”

A murder should unite people in shared revulsion. The killing of Charlie Kirk did not. When the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA was assassinated last month, leaders in both parties condemned the attack, and many mourned the husband and father of two. But some progressives on social media had a different reaction: they rationalized, mocked, and even celebrated the killing.

If my gentle attempt at open dialogue led to vilification from intolerant academics, then violence against influential non-radicals is foreseeable.

Critics observe that the increasing polarization of many Western societies and frequent violence against dissenters are due in part to leftwing indoctrination in their educational institutions. In my experience, few radical leftwing academics advocate violence. Yet many of them helped build an environment that condoned violence through their blind adherence to dogmas.

Oxford Union alumni plan to descend on the university city this weekend in an attempt to oust the president-elect.

Former members of the debating society are considering travelling from as far afield as Hong Kong and New York to vote against George Abaraonye in a poll on his leadership on Saturday, sources told The Telegraph.

University alumni have been encouraged to attend the in-person vote in order to preserve “the reputation of Britain’s historic institutions”.

The Democrat-run state of Oregon is reportedly set to spend more than twice as much on a program that provides healthcare benefits to illegal aliens as it will spend on police. This explains so much about the state that contains violence-plagued Portland.

Over at last few years, people on the left have taken exception to the mission of Turning Point USA (TPUSA).  Our leftist university campuses in particular have criticized the TPUSA mission, since it advocates conservative and religious values.

I was gently chided recently by a fellow writer for being insufficiently polemical in my writing. My initial reaction: “right then… here goes!” Before I knew it, I had shipped the entire progressive Establishment of the Western world off to a gulag. The whole damn academia-preaching, social justice-legislating, human rights-lawfaring and commissariat-regulating lot of them. That great cancerous legal/managerial progressive Blob that has been growing inside the entrails of Western civilisation for many decades now – all the millions of them. Then I mentally ran through the paucity of course-correcting options realistically available in a liberal democracy and reminded myself why I don’t go in for ‘What we, as a society, need to do is…’ rhetoric.

One thing right-wingers have got to stop doing is brushing off the deliberate intentions of Democrats as “insane,” “crazy,” or “unhinged.” They’re not, and to do so is to give them an excuse for their sick behavior, the way a proven murderer hopes to get off with a “temporary insanity” defense.

The temptation is admittedly strong. Democrats do a lot of crazy things, like support and champion every single policy that makes life for the average American poorer, more dangerous, and less meaningful. They’re in favor of open borders and rampant crime. They’re opposed to free speech and fair elections. Anyone would be forgiven for calling them insane.

If Jay Jones were a Republican, he’d probably be a household name by now.

Imagine if there was a Republican candidate in a hotly contested race that was convicted of reckless driving, caught wishing death on a politician and his family in texts, accused of wanting to see police officers shot, and was called to drop out of the race by the sitting President of the United States?

It is striking how in many recent cases of violent acting out behavior in America the mass shooter or perpetrator of assassination has been a very angry, conflicted, and unstable transsexual young person acting out violently towards political figures or children’s schools, often religious schools.
