If you were to celebrate the Tucson Pride Festival this past February, you were out of luck. Organizers of Tucson Pride had to dissolve their organization and cancel the annual festival, which for some reason wasn’t held during national Pride Month, which is in June.

Canada’s LGBT revolution has been funded with millions of taxpayers dollars

Taxes in Canada are exceptionally high – in provinces like British Columbia, leftist governments are wringing even more cash from the pockets of beleaguered taxpayers. But the federal government continues to spend millions of dollars on LGBT activism.
I’m often asked how things in Canada got so bad, so quickly. There are many answers, but one is that in Canada, the revolution was funded by the taxpayers. While organizations that attempted to defend Canada’s moral foundation fundraised from fellow Christians, radical LGBT organizations and abortion groups were funded by the government.
The New York Times Wonders Why Americans Are ‘Turning Against Gay People.’ Isn’t It Obvious?

This week, the New York Times published an article called “Americans Are Turning Against Gay People,” and if you’re wondering whether the paper has completely lost touch with reality, the answer is yes.
The piece opens with some gushing about a show I’ve never even heard of — and I suspect you haven’t, either — called Heated Rivalry, featuring gay hockey players, suggesting that its success proves “acceptance of queer love continues to grow.” The authors, Tessa Charlesworth and Eli Finkel, lament that this is not the case. “We wish we could share that optimism,” they write, before citing research showing that acceptance of gay people peaked around 2020 and has “sharply reversed” since then.
The Perversion of Pride

Pride parades now look and feel more like a victory march over a conquered people than a scrappy revolt for rights.
Pride Month seems to come round quicker and quicker each year. Every June, we are subjected to the colours of the rainbow being injected into every aspect of our lives. Businesses change their logos for the occasion. Your bank will fire out emails to breathlessly reassure you that it doesn’t care who you do or don’t sleep with. Pride parades erupt across every town and city, big or small, in Europe, making the high streets temporarily unusable.
Trudeau’s participation was always meant as an insult to Canadians who didn’t share his obvious taste for perversion.
No More Woke: German Parents File Lawsuit to Take Down LGBT Flags in School

The parents of a schoolgirl in Berlin have filed a lawsuit against the state authorities for allowing the rainbow-coloured Pride flag to fly on top of the after-school care centre, which the girl attends.
The parents argue that the use of political symbols is not permitted in state education institutions, and they see the flag as part of a “politicised” agenda that is not suitable for children.
Pride Toronto forges ahead with $900K shortfall while looking for more sponsors

Pride Toronto’s shortfall has increased to $900,000 — a jump from $700,000 10 days ago — due, in part, to such corporate sponsors as Google, Nissan, and Home Depot pulling out.
But the organization’s executive director Kojo Modeste is hoping others will still come on board — including the province and the feds — with other sponsors like The Ballroom, No Frills, Shoppers Drug Mart and SEIU Healthcare Union now stepping up to the plate.
Pride Toronto faces another setback as Google, Home Depot pull sponsorship

Pride Toronto has faced another setback, losing two more major corporate sponsors — Google and Home Depot — just before Pride Month begins, Pride Toronto executive director Kojo Modeste told CP24 Saturday afternoon.
This latest setback follows several other sponsorship losses Pride Toronto experienced in recent months. Modeste spoke to CTV News about those earlier losses in February.
The non-profit in charge of the 2SLGBTQ+ festival is facing a loss of around $700,000 in corporate sponsorships as a result of all the withdrawals, he said.

‘Ridiculous’: Legal fight over Ontario town’s refusal to mark Pride month ongoing
When Douglas Judson asked the Township of Emo to declare June as Pride month and display a rainbow flag for a week in 2020, he never imagined the request would turn into a years-long legal dispute that still has no end in sight.
“This is generally a non-controversial thing to ask for,” said Judson, the co-chair of Borderland Pride. “There’s often flag raisings that are done, proclamations are made for various dates or other causes in the community.”
WARMINGTON: Next date in Battle of Emo between mayor and Pride is on Friday The 13th

The Battle of Emo and the horror show between Pride activists and a defiant mayor is set to come to a head on Friday The 13th.
That’s when the five-member township council, located in Northern Ontario, is expected to announce its decision on how to move forward in its war with Borderland Pride which not only won a Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO) ruling but also won a $10,000 penalty from the town and $5,000 from the mayor, which he has already had garnished from his bank account.
Tiny Canadian Town, Fined Thousands for Refusing To Recognize Pride Month, Emerges as Flashpoint in LGBTQ Culture Wars

A Canadian mayor is fighting back against a Pride organization that has persisted in a years-long crusade against him and his remote township for refusing to issue a “Pride month proclamation” — as the tiny town has become a flashpoint in culture wars over LGBTQ issues.
The dispute centers around Emo, Ontario — a township along the American border directly north of Minnesota, which in 2020 refused to oblige a local group’s request to formally declare June as “Pride Month” and fly a Pride flag.

WARMINGTON: Mayor who stood up to Pride group has bank account garnished

LGBTQ2+ activists have literally made Emo Township Mayor Harold McQuaker pay for daring to stand up to them.
Although the Northern Ontario municipal leader vowed not to honour a $5,000 fine the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO) levied against him for comments surrounding town council not approving a motion to approve Pride month, he wasn’t given a choice.

Nowhere is safe from the tyranny of Pride

There is a tiny rural township in Ontario, Canada, just over the border from the US state of Minnesota, that glories in the name of Emo. Emo has a population of just 1,300, and until fairly recently was known (though not by many) for its picturesque waterfront park, its annual Rainy River Agricultural Fair and its catch-and-release fishing tournament, the Emo Walleye Classic. It looks idyllic, with simple straggles of wooden houses and vivid verdure bordering the enormous Clearwater Lake.
Allan Stratton: There is no pride in alphabet activists shaming a small town

In 2020, Borderland Pride asked the township of Emo, Ont. (pop. 1,300) to proclaim Pride Month and fly the Pride flag. In a 3-2 vote, the council declined. It was a petty decision; Pride proclamations are generally considered pro forma, and Emo’s refusal was a bad look for a township seeking to attract business and newcomers.
In fairness, Emo only had four such requests that year, two of them from Borderland Pride. This was a far cry from the 1990s, when Hamilton and London discriminated against Pride by excluding it from similar resolutions passed for everyone else.
Resources are out there for LGBTQ2S+ travelers looking to stay safe

Do LGBTQ2S+ tourists have a green book-like system for staying safe while traveling in these politically precarious times? They don’t have one. They have many.
In recent years, there’s been an outpouring of specialized blogs, cruise and tour operators, and booking sites for accommodations. There are organizations that certify the support of transport operators, destinations and special events. And there are watchdog groups with eyes on the laws and customs of the world.
