Jimmy Doyle, a British academic who taught philosophy, says transgender rights have provoked ‘the most obvious social contagion since the Children’s Crusade’

One Tuesday evening last month in his mother’s house on the Wirral, the recently ex-Harvard philosophy professor Jimmy Doyle took to X to say, at last, what he really thought about the state of free speech in American academia.

In one tweet he wrote: “For unrelated reasons I’ve resigned my position at Harvard. But I haven’t been able to speak frankly with anyone for [about] five years. And it’ll be hard to forget the spectacle of this nation’s intellectual elite enforcing moral auto-lobotomy as a condition of entry to polite society.”

In the weeks surrounding Trump’s inauguration, the left-wing media insisted the administration’s effort to remove trans troops from the military would weaken the force — some outlets fearmongered that up to 15,000 service members would be booted. But numbers recently obtained by journalist Chris Bray from the Department of Defense indicate that only four “transgender servicemembers” have been “removed from the military so far under the new Trump administration policy.”

The Ontario Human Rights Tribunal on July 28 dismissed a complaint by a transgender activist against a beauty pageant company for not being included in the competition.

The complaint was brought in 2019 by Jessica Simpson (born Jonathan Yaniv and going by Jessica Yaniv at the time) against Canada Galaxy Pageants (CGP) after the company asked Simpson for proof of full transition from male to female before being allowed to compete in its beauty pageant.

Back in late January, it was just another headline in the flurry of headlines that assailed the average American voter. While it was all very exciting to watch a president do what we, the people, had elected him to do, it felt like if you blinked you’d miss the signing of some monumental executive order.

An Indiana IKEA employee was fired after refusing to call his co-worker “they/them” and filed an official complaint due to “unlawful termination,” the Indiana Family Institute said in a Wednesday press release.

Steven Ressler, a “devout Christian who believes there are only two genders” and who’s worked at IKEA since 2019, was under investigation in December for “misgendering” his co-worker. Soon after, Ressler filed for a “religious accommodation request” to “inform my employer of my religious beliefs and engage in the interactive process in good faith,” the press release said.

VANCOUVER — The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms says a nurse who was sanctioned by the B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives has filed two human rights complaints with the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal.

A disciplinary panel with the college determined Amy Hamm committed unprofessional conduct for making “discriminatory and derogatory statements” about transgender people earlier this year.

Last November, the Alberta Medical Association (AMA) released a statement taking aim at the Smith government for its new legislation banning puberty blockers and hormone therapy for trans-identifying youth. The AMA stated, among other things: “There is no place for the government in the medical decisions being made by parents and their children in conjunction with physicians.”

In an ideal world, the AMA would be absolutely correct — just as in an ideal world there would be no hunger, poverty, discrimination or violence.
