JD Vance says what needs to be said about illegal aliens and due process

We here at American Thinker have noted that the current Democrat plan regarding illegal aliens is to force them into the legal system to run out the clock. Now, Vice President Vance has chimed in to make the same point. (And no, much as I’d like to think it’s true, he probably hasn’t been reading American Thinker. Instead, what he says is common sense.)

The Reason Why Chicago Canceled Their Cinco de Mayo Parade Is Hilarious

Chicago announced they’re not doing Cinco de Mayo this year. The parade has been canceled for the most obvious reason: ICE likely would’ve had a detention buffet. I’m not kidding. The city decided to close shop on the celebration to avoid their illegals being arrested and deported. It shows that state officials who declare they won’t help ICE is just empty talk—these are federal operations. Federal immigration officers can still arrest and detain illegals, and they’re doing it…

Do You Know Why the Beatified MS-13 ‘Maryland Father’ Was ‘Mistakenly’ Deported?

MS 13 DACA Dreamer

It’s worth reminding readers of the reasons the man being described as the innocent “Maryland father” was “mistakenly” deported from Los Estados Unidos.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia is now cooling his heels in the most famous El Salvadoran prison in the world. He’s gotten more love from America’s left than, say, the 14-year-old girl MS-13 hacked up with machetes in 2019 in Maryland. It’s strange, isn’t it? Ariana Funes-Diaz was hacked with a machete and hit with a baseball bat, and her lifeless and bloodied body was left in a ditch, but nobody seems to remember or care.

Illegal crossings at US-Canada border drop — but enforcement shrinks: ‘Opportunity for terrorists’

Liberal Party Voters Every Last One.

US officials are pleading for help at the Canadian border, claiming the “most dangerous people are coming through” the largely unchecked crossing.

The number of illegal entries from the often-overlooked northern border have plummeted since President Trump’s election in November, but the gains have mostly stalled in recent months as Customs and Border Patrol has turned its full attention to Mexico.

“They had to shift manpower to the southwest border which opened up an even greater opportunity for terrorists to come through our northern border,” said Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA), who co-chairs the Northern Border Security Caucus.

Trump Authorizes Military Occupation Of Public Land Along Southern Border To Repel Migrant ‘Invasions’

President Donald Trump signed a memorandum authorizing a “military mission for sealing the southern border of the United States and repelling invasions,” giving the U.S. military the ability to occupy public land along the border in order to secure it.

The directive, released late Friday, allows the military to use federal lands for military activities, including constructing border barriers and using “detection and monitoring equipment” to deter would-be migrant invaders.

I work at a migrant hotel. Many of them will never work a day in their lives

I am the clinical lead in an asylum hotel in the north of England. We’re right in the centre of town. Though we try to keep a low profile, that’s not always easy with 24-hour security guards in hi-vis patrolling the entrance. The building is modern, but it was never intended to house hundreds of people long-term. It’s starting to degrade quickly. My role is to provide a GP service within the hotel.

“It’s not racist to take sovereignty seriously”—U.S. Border Patrol Agent Vincent ‘Rocco’ Vargas

Vincent “Rocco” Vargas was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and went on to serve three combat deployments with the 2nd Battalion of the elite 75th Ranger Regiment. In 2009 Vargas became a Federal Agent with the Department of Homeland Security, and was a medic with the Special Operations Group. After temporarily leaving his federal career for film and television, he returned to the Border Patrol’s Strategic Planning and Analysis Directorate (SPAD) in March 2025—while continuing to work with veterans, and as a writer,  entrepreneur and motivational speaker. He runs the popular Borderland and VinnyRoc podcasts.

Vincent Vargas is a giant of a man who fills the screen from his home ‘operations room’ throughout our interview. He refuels on protein bars as we talk, while making it clear just how plausible he was as an army sergeant (in real life) or as the Capitan Del Camino of a fictional outlaw biker gang (on Mayans M.C.). His fame acquired from appearing in films and on TV also guaranteed publicity for his SPAD appointment. While good-humoured—and slightly disappointed he can’t also offer me a protein bar—it’s clear he is entirely serious about going back into homeland security. Could he really be giving up acting to concentrate on a real-life role in Border Patrol?

Three Words Explain March’s Illegal Border Crossing Numbers

Border crossing numbers hit a new low in March, with federal agents encountering about 7,000 people entering the U.S. illegally last month, mainly through the San Diego and El Paso sectors.

Compared to March 2024, when 137,000 individuals crossed the southern border illegally, that’s a 94 percent decrease.

Homeland Security officials told the New York Post it’s easy to explain the decline: “the Trump effect.”

Inside the online effort to foil Trump’s deportation raids

On social media, immigrants and their allies are working together to track ICE officers in real time.

NEW YORK — When Sheidriany Pomales was scrolling TikTok during a break from her job at a kindergarten, she came across a video that made her stomach sink. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were hanging around the entrance to the subway on 125th Street and Lexington — right next to where Pomales, her mother and many of their friends live.

She quickly exited the app and called her mom with a warning and a request that she pass the information along. Her mom used WhatsApp to reach out to undocumented friends and co-workers who made plans to take alternate routes to work or skip errands such as grocery shopping. Pomales made her own video about the alleged sighting on her go-to social platform, TikTok, using the algospeak code phrase “ice cream truck” instead of ICE or the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Trump Admin Moves to Cut Federal Funds for ‘Sanctuary’ Cities

The Trump administration is ramping up efforts to hold sanctuary cities accountable, preparing to withhold federal funds from municipalities that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration laws. This bold move signals a firm stance against local governments that prioritize illegal immigration over the safety and security of their communities. By cutting off funding, the administration aims to communicate that cities that flout federal immigration policies will not be subsidized at taxpayers’ expense. This action is a significant step in the Trump administration’s ongoing battle to enforce immigration laws and uphold the rule of law nationwide.
