A U.S. congressional committee has summoned the country’s Director of National Intelligence for a briefing on the firing of two Canadian scientists from Ottawa’s high-security infectious-disease laboratory in Winnipeg.
The House of Representatives committee on energy and commerce, which is investigating the origins of COVID-19, want to know about the activities of Xiangguo Qiu and her husband, Keding Cheng, at the National Microbiology Laboratory.

The Canadian military never evaluated how operational readiness would be affected by the expulsion of soldiers refusing COVID-19 vaccination before imposing its mandate, internal records indicate.
“The CAF did not conduct a pre-policy risk analysis since CDS, based on solid medical advice, decided to accept any impacts this policy would/could have brought to bear,” wrote then-Brigadier-General Erick Simoneau in a May 2022 email.

A leaked video recording shows the Public Health Agency of Canada’s (CPAC) health chief Theresa Tam and BC health authority Bonnie Henry laughing at Canadians.
Tam hosted a roundtable meeting over Zoom to discuss the H5N1 Avian flu and where to test for it with several provincial health officials and PHAC staff.

If you regularly scan the headlines of major news sources of late you will have noted a curious tendency. When it comes to terrorism, the only stories which seem to get any traction are those which lament the “rise” in what is widely termed “far-right extremism.” This umbrella description covers everything from neo-Nazis to white supremacists to anti-vaxxers to, believe it or not, violent “incels” (involuntary celibates who apparently target women out of frustration over their lack of sexual gratification).
We are led to accept that this form of terrorism is ubiquitous, on the increase, and poses some kind of “existential threat” to Western societies. Even our public safety ministry here in Canada is keen to trumpet this menace, although they have elected to label it “ideologically-motivated violent extremism“ or IMVE (as if not all terrorism is, at its core, ”ideological”).

In October of 2022, when I started working on my book about Justin Trudeau’s government, I told my interview subjects that I thought history would judge him favourably.
It seemed to me then that Mr. Trudeau had changed the country more than Jean Chrétien, Paul Martin or Stephen Harper, and that his record could be measured against Brian Mulroney’s. Justin’s father, Pierre – who gave the country the Charter of Rights and Freedoms – is more significant, but I thought history might put Justin ahead of other recent prime ministers.

Justin Trudeau says Benjamin Netanyahu is blocking two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians
OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of impeding progress toward a two-state solution between Israel and a Palestinian state, saying Canada “fundamentally” disagrees with his government’s position on achieving peace.
“Canada’s position has always been that the solution to the extraordinarily difficult challenges in the Middle East are a two-state solution, a peaceful, secure democratic Israel alongside a peaceful, secure, democratic Palestinian state,” Trudeau said Friday during a news conference in Nova Scotia.
What a vote whore.

… The covenants can “leave restrictions or exclusions on competitors that extend beyond ownership of the land, sometimes for decades,” the applications say.
The probes are also looking into “exclusivity clauses” in commercial lease agreements that “limit or restrict” who a landowner can lease to and which products can be sold by other parties close to another leaseholders’ business.
The property controls, the commissioner says, may give the companies “the ability to exclude actual or potential competitors from selling food products within certain geographic areas or to dictate the terms upon which they carry on business.”
Canada is a Banana Republic.
I wonder if these covenants are allowed in the US?
In the US the perps behind the Bread scam would have done hard time. In Canada the government gives you new freezers.

Last week, the federal government announced a $1.7-million subsidy for a pasta manufacturer in Brampton, Ont., citing the creation of 10 jobs. This may appear insignificant compared with the tens of billions allocated to industries such as electric vehicles, but it highlights just how normalized corporate welfare has become across our economy.
The Canada Pension Plan Fund had a bad year last year. You’d never know it to read the latest annual report from the fund’s managers, the CPP Investment Board, which spends much of its nearly 80,000 words boasting how, thanks to the herculean efforts of its employees and the sophisticated investment stratagems of its managers, it eked out an 8-per-cent return on investment for the CPP’s beneficiaries.
But of course it did: asset markets generally were up wildly last year. As an investment manager, you’d have to have gone pretty far out of your way not to have earned a sizable return. Indeed, the fund’s benchmark “reference portfolio,” a composite of global equity and bond indexes, gained 19.9 per cent on the year.

Canadians fleeing major cities was supposed to be a temporary trend, but it’s accelerating at a breakneck speed. Net interprovincial migration, the balance of people who arrived and left provinces, accelerated in 2023. Economists at BMO are warning this trend was unusually strong in the country’s traditional economic hubs—Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. The bank attributes the unusually rapid flight to a number of reasons, but ultimately the biggest one is affordability. That issue is about to reshape these cities, and Canada’s economy.
I am growing curious about white flight from Toronto. No records are publicly available assuming they even exist.

CALGARY – The truck driver who caused the horrific bus crash involving the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team has been ordered to be deported.
The decision came Friday at an Immigration and Refugee Board hearing in Calgary for Jaskirat Singh Sidhu.
Sidhu’s lawyer had said the decision was a foregone conclusion, as all that’s required to deport Sidhu is proof that he’s not a Canadian citizen and he committed a serious crime.

A gunman who is accused of killing a young Ontario man and shooting four of his family members at their small Mississauga restaurant in 2021 was allegedly part of a trio who had pledged allegiance to the listed terrorist group Islamic State, a Crown attorney said in an opening statement in the Brampton murder trial this week.
The victim, 25-year-old Naim Akl, became a target when he realized the loyalties of the group, which operated a warehouse business in the Greater Toronto Area, and planned to go to Canadian authorities, said Crown Attorney David D’Iorio.
OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he supports an order from the International Court of Justice for Israel to stop any military campaigns in Rafah.
Hamas should lay down its arms and release the hostages still in the group’s custody, but it’s also time for Israel to stop its military campaign, said Trudeau.

Since the deadly October 7 attacks in Israel, much ink has been spilled on the naked antisemitism and anti-western hatred raging across major Canadian cities, even as concerns mount over radicalization, terrorism and foreign interference. While these are acute national security issues that should be appropriately addressed, they are merely symptoms of a far bigger and deadly threat that requires more attention: Islamism, or Islamist extremism.
Mass deportations are in order and the bastards that orchestrated the mass import of the death cult should be in shackles.
I’ll probably be arrested for Islamophobia before that happens.
