Antisemitism Tsarina: If the DEI Cabal grants Jews victimhood status then they can continue hating on White People.

Eliminating religion as a hate speech defence an idea worth exploring, says antisemitism envoy

Canada’s special envoy for combating antisemitism says she’s “very interested” in exploring the idea of eliminating religion as a possible defence against hate speech charges.

Deborah Lyons, whose mandate also includes preserving Holocaust remembrance, appeared Thursday before a parliamentary committee that is studying antisemitism on university campuses.

Jewish leaders, students and faculty have been voicing concerns about an increase in hate speech and violence since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas war last fall.

Lyons said she believes universities’ equity, diversity and inclusion strategies are “failing Jews in this country” because they don’t make much mention of antisemitism specifically.

So our Antisemitism Tsarina is saying that if the DEI Cabal grants Jews victimhood status then the cabal can continue hating White People.

Why not call for the dismantling of the DEI Cabal?

Does she not get that DEI is all about anti-White racism? Or is it that she approves?

Trudeau’s promised made-in-Canada vaccine plant hasn’t produced any shots

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a multi-million dollar funding commitment to build a vaccine plant in Montreal to churn out Canadian-made COVID-19 shots by the end of 2020.

Four years later, not a single vial of usable vaccine has rolled off the line.

The publicly owned Biologics Manufacturing Centre (BMC) was built quickly on National Research Council-owned land at the site of a former animal vaccines plant, thanks to a cash injection of nearly $130 million from the federal government.

‘It’s not enough’: Israeli official calls on Canada to be a more steadfast ally

I think that ship has sailed Israel. Justin needs the Hamas vote.

OTTAWA — Canada should be a more steadfast ally to Israel, says Ronen Gilor, Israel’s special adviser on Canada.

In an exclusive interview with the Star, Gilor pointed to several points of tension between the two countries, including that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told the Israeli government in March privately there would be “no more deals” to export Canadian-made light armoured vehicles to Israel despite written assurances that the equipment was not for military use in Gaza.

‘Overpaid bureaucrats whining’ about forced return to office

As federal public servants start returning to their offices more often under new rules from their employer, many are taking to social media platforms to vent and voice their discontent.

“Feeling pretty despondent about RTO,” reads one post on the Reddit forum CanadaPublicServants, which has more than 69,000 members, and advertises itself (in both official languages) as the “unofficial subreddit for employees and former employees of the Federal Public Service of Canada.”

Poilievre is poised to benefit from a potential Trump victory

Conventional wisdom dictates that as he’s preparing for the Canadian election, Conservative leader Pierre Poilevre is probably praying that Donald Trump loses the American presidential election, now only six months away. The Liberals are betting on it, having launched a new ad campaign that directly compares the leader of the Official Opposition to the reality TV star-turned U.S. president, who is now appearing in court. Justin Trudeau and team are certainly hoping to stoke fear around the idea of putting two uncooperative outspoken conservative populists in power, while feeding the idea that Poilievre is just as brash, untruthful, and controversial as Trump.

Western countries are gearing up for war for the first time in decades

Western nations are taking steps to put their armed forces on a war footing for the first time in decades, according to the boss of defence-technology company QinetiQ.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, concerns about China’s ambitions in the Pacific, escalations in the Israel-Hamas conflict and Houthi attacks on shipping in the Red Sea have spurred Britain, the US, Australia and their allies to invest time and money in testing the readiness of air, sea and land forces, said Steve Wadey, QinetiQ’s chief executive.

Canada is 4th from the bottom in NATO expenditures.

U.S. senators write to Trudeau asking him to meet 2% GDP defence spending commitment

A bipartisan group of 23 U.S. senators have written to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau urging his country to live up to its commitment to spend 2 per cent of GDP on defence amid concerns that key members of the NATO alliance are not pulling their weight.

“As we approach the 2024 NATO Summit in Washington, D.C., we are concerned and profoundly disappointed that Canada’s most recent projection indicated that it will not reach its two percent commitment this decade,” the senators wrote. “In 2029, Canada’s defence spending is estimated to rise to just 1.7 percent, five years after the agreed upon deadline of 2024 and still below the spending baseline.”

Philanthropist who gave $30M to U Manitoba condemns ‘hateful’ valedictory speech, university for allowing it

The philanthropist behind the University of Manitoba’s largest-ever personal donation — $30 million — has denounced a speech made by a valedictorian for medicine grads and admonished the university for letting it happen.

… “I’m sure that some of you here today are worried that you might face censure for speaking about the genocidal war that Israel is waging on the people of Palestine, that it could jeopardize your career before it’s even begun,” Newman said in his speech.

“But … surely, I don’t have to remind any of you that advocacy is literally in our job description.”

A video of the convocation that included Newman’s speech had been posted to the U of Manitoba’s YouTube page. By Tuesday, the video was no longer available there.

Trudeau government offers emotional support program for foreign spies

The release of over 600 pages of classified documents concerning security breaches at Canada’s National Microbiology Laboratory (NML) in Winnipeg this past February shed a light on one of this country’s most shocking cases of espionage.

NML scientists Xiangguo Qiu and Keding Cheng essentially used Canada’s highest-security biohazard lab as a lending library for Chinese military interests. During her time as head of Vaccines and Antivirals in the NML’s Zoonotic Diseases and Special Pathogens Division, Qiu repeatedly acted on China’s behalf, including by transferring knowledge and materials from the NML to Chinese institutions. The files led bare Canada’s shocking inability to protect its own secrets.
