How Canada has been helping China hunt for fugitives for decades

The Canadian government has given Chinese law enforcement assistance in their pursuit of fugitive Chinese nationals living abroad for decades, an investigation by CBC’s The Fifth Estate has learned.

In Canada, that help has sometimes come as a result of quid pro quo deals, people with first-hand knowledge of the relationship, including two former Canadian ambassadors to China, told The Fifth Estate.

Canada-U.S. refugee pact changes expected to ‘exacerbate existing threats’: memo

OTTAWA – A newly released memo shows federal officials warned last spring that expanding a bilateral refugee pact to the entire Canada-U.S. border would likely fuel smuggling networks and encourage people to seek more dangerous, remote crossing routes.

Officials feared the development would also strain RCMP resources as irregular migrants dispersed more widely across the vast border.

The April memo, made public by Public Safety Canada through the Access to Information Act, was prepared in advance of a Cross-Border Crime Forum meeting with American representatives.

Ottawa prepares for evacuation of thousands of Canadians of convenience from Lebanon … again

Ottawa prepares for evacuation of Canadians from Lebanon; could be its largest civilian evacuation in history

Canada is preparing for what could be the biggest civilian evacuation in its history, one that is raising questions about the country’s obligations to its overseas passport-holders before it has even begun.

Tens of thousands of Canadian citizens live in Lebanon, where fear of a looming war between the powerful militant group Hezbollah and Israel — in the wake of its war with Hamas — has driven airlines to cancel flights and some embassies to begin evacuating staff and diplomats.

It is embarrassing to live in a country so frequently and routinely taken advantage of. Our political class are swine.

Lebanon is virtually governed by Hezbollah. Why do we want to bring back a horde of Isamist haters?

TikTok Exec Confirms Chinese Parent Company Has Access to User Data, Mum on CCP’s Law Requiring Cooperation

A TikTok senior executive confirmed that the video sharing app’s Chinese parent company has access to user data, but did not confirm whether the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) can also access this data under its National Intelligence Law.

David Lieber, head of TikTok’s privacy public policy for the Americas, was asked by NDP MP Matthew Green at a House of Commons Ethics Committee on Oct. 18 whether TikTok has “a parent company in China that has access to user data.”

Mr. Lieber responded “yes.” TikTok is owned by ByteDance, which has its headquarters in Beijing.

Avi Benlolo: Trudeau Liberals leave world questioning whose side Canada is on — the terrorists or their victims?

The question for Trudeau is who has more votes the terrorists or their victims?

The heinous Oct. 7 attack by Hamas on Israel left many Canadians, particularly in the Jewish community, deeply shocked and concerned about the questionable tone coming from our government.

This week, a number of world leaders have visited Israel to show their solidarity with the Jewish state. However, Canada’s response has been marked by efforts to evacuate its citizens from the region and a pledge of $10 million in aid to both sides, reflecting a faulty and shameful desire for neutrality.

MANDEL: No more house arrest for ISIS bride repatriated from Syria

When ISIS bride Dure Ahmed left Toronto for the caliphate in Syria, she insists she had no clue what her notorious husband was up to, including the kidnapping and savage beheading of American journalist James Foley.

According to a recent interview she gave to the CBC and BBC, Ahmed claims she was “oblivious to what was going on” while her then-British husband El Shafee Elsheikh was committing atrocities as part of the British-accented ISIS terror cell known as “the Beatles.”

Simian Virus 40: Health Canada Confirms Undisclosed Presence of DNA Sequence in Pfizer Shot

Health Canada has confirmed the presence of a Simian Virus 40 (SV40) DNA sequence in the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, which the manufacturer had not previously disclosed. There is debate among scientists with regards to the significance of the finding, with some saying it has the potential to cause cancer, and others saying it poses little to no threat.

“Health Canada expects sponsors to identify any biologically functional DNA sequences within a plasmid (such as an SV40 enhancer) at the time of submission,” the agency said in an email to The Epoch Times.

Canada pulls 41 diplomats from India after diplomatic immunity stripped

All but 21 Canadian diplomats in India have been pulled out of that country, Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly said Thursday, confirming the slashing of diplomatic staff by roughly two-thirds amid ongoing tensions between the two countries.

Joly said India has formally conveyed its plan to Ottawa to strip diplomatic immunity from 41 Canadian diplomats and their 42 family members by Friday.

Canada has facilitated the safe departure of those diplomats and their families from India, she added, noting the stripping of immunity “would put their personal safety at risk.”

Canada is considering a guaranteed universal basic income program. Here’s what that means

Canada is taking its baby steps toward a basic income program meant to broadly address poverty.

The Senate’s national finance committee began looking into Sen. Kim Pate’s proposal for a national framework for a universal basic income program on Oct. 17. Since as far back as the 1970s, Canada has flirted with the idea of a basic income program.

The push for a basic income program gained more momentum during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, as the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) — which paid out $2,000 a month to millions of Canadians — raised the possibility of a permanent income program.

Conservatives call return of ISIS wifey ‘unacceptable’

ISIS whore Dure Ahmed – back in Canada

The Conservatives say it’s “unacceptable” that the federal government allowed a Canadian woman with ties to ISIS to re-enter the country.

CBC News reported Tuesday new details about the identity of a 33-year-old woman the government repatriated with her children in April from a detention camp in northeastern Syria.

Dure Ahmed, who is now living in the Toronto area under conditions, was married to El Shafee Elsheikh. He’s a high-profile ISIS militant who was part of a cell known as “the Beatles” because of their British accents.

Elsheikh is the highest ranking ISIS member to be tried in the U.S. He’s serving multiple life sentences in a supermax prison for his role in the deaths of eight American, British and Japanese hostages.

CSIS chief opens up about China’s interest in Canadian universities

The head of Canada’s intelligence agency spoke openly about China’s interest in partnering with Canadian universities to gain a military edge during a conference with his Five Eyes counterparts on Tuesday.

“Everything that they’re doing in our universities and in new technology, it’s going back into a system very organized to create dual-use applications for the military.”
