It seems as if hardly a month goes by without another revelation of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) infiltrating or influencing companies and orders of government within Canada.

This month is no exception. It has been exposed that the RCMP had contracted an Ontario-based company with ties to the CCP to provide equipment related to police radio communications. The security and encryption of communications within a national police force should be rather important considerations. A company providing services related to anything so sensitive should be thoroughly vetted, yet somehow the ties between Sinclair Technologies and the CCP were overlooked when sourcing services.

RCMP national security officers investigating China’s foreign interference activities in Canada were at the headquarters of a Richmond, B.C. non-profit group on Saturday.

The RCMP’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team conducted interviews at the Wenzhou Friendship Society and in the surrounding neighbourhood.

U.S. envoy pats Junior on head, hails Canada’s pivot on China, says Ottawa has ‘woken up’

The U.S. ambassador to Canada is hailing what he calls a pivot on China policy: Ottawa has woken up, he says, to a pressing geopolitical challenge.

David Cohen acknowledges there were worries in Washington about whether Canada was too chummy with China, noting it even came up last year in his Senate confirmation hearing.

But the U.S. envoy says those concerns are being put to rest by Ottawa’s latest moves: pushing Chinese state-owned companies out of Canadian mines, cancelling a contract for RCMP communications equipment and studying the creation of a foreign agents list.

Only a fool would trust Junior.

Trudeau’s National Security Adviser Says She Hasn’t Seen Evidence of Chinese Funding to 11 Candidates

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s national security adviser Jody Thomas says her office has seen no evidence supporting allegations that the Chinese regime funded 11 candidates in the 2019 federal election, but also said federal intelligence agencies are investigating the allegations.

“The news stories that you have read about interference are just that: news stories,” Thomas told the House of Commons national defence committee on Dec. 8, adding “We’ve not seen money going to 11 candidates, period.”

When they deny it you know it’s true.

RCMP suspends contract with China-linked company

The RCMP has suspended a procurement contract with a company that has links to China.

The office of Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino confirmed to CBC News that the RCMP has suspended a contract with Sinclair Technologies for radio frequency (RF) equipment. Sinclair’s parent company, Norsat International, has been owned by Chinese telecommunications firm Hytera since 2017.

The Chinese government owns around 10 per cent of Hytera through an investment fund.

National Defence to probe past contracts awarded to firm now tied to China

The Department of National Defence (DND) says it’s investigating contracts previously awarded to a firm that now has ties to the Chinese government, as concerns of foreign interference in Canada grow.

Ontario-based Sinclair Technologies, which designs and manufactures communications equipment, was given contracts for DND work between 2009 and 2013. The 12 contracts, worth $252,296 in total, were for work on “antennas, waveguides and related equipment,” procurement data shows.

National Defence headquarters, Maritime Forces Atlantic, Canadian Special Operations Forces Command headquarters and CFB Esquimalt were listed as the primary end users. A department official told Global News the contracts appeared to be mainly for antenna devices that amplify and receive but don’t transmit information.

The federal government is reviewing an RCMP equipment contract awarded to a company with ties to China’s government that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called “disconcerting.”

Trudeau said the government will also re-examine its approach to procurement.

A Radio-Canada investigation found that Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) awarded Sinclair Technologies a contract worth $549,637 last year to build and maintain a radio frequency (RF) filtering system for the Mounties.

The federal government awarded a contract to provide and maintain RCMP communications equipment to a company with ties to the Chinese government, Radio-Canada has learned.

The contract has security experts raising concerns about potential Chinese access to RCMP communications and data.

On October 6, 2021, the federal government awarded Sinclair Technologies a contract worth $549,637 for a radio frequency (RF) filtering system. One of the system’s purposes is to protect the RCMP’s land-based radio communications from eavesdropping.

‘Alarming escalation’ of espionage, foreign interference in Canada since pandemic: CSIS

OTTAWA — Canada’s spy agency has noted an “alarming escalation” of espionage and foreign interference since the beginning of the pandemic, with countries like China threatening or intimidating people in Canada into namely supporting a specific electoral candidate.

“These activities are real, they’re persistent, they’re increasing, and it’s not hypothetical, we see it everyday in our work. And these activities will be targeting all level of governments, whether it’s federal, municipal, provincial,” veteran CSIS intelligence analyst Noura Hayek told attendees of the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws conference Monday.

Can’t they identify the perps?

Can’t they deport them?

Why do CSIS’ hands seem to be tied?

Or is Canada’s China class preventing that action be taken?

Amnesty International Canada says it was target of cyberattack sponsored by the Chinese state

The Canadian branch of human rights organization Amnesty International says it was the target of a cyberattack it believes was sponsored by the Chinese state.

In a statement posted on its website, Amnesty International Canada said the digital security breach was first detected on Oct. 5, 2022, when suspicious activity was spotted on Amnesty’s IT infrastructure.

A human rights organization says it has found dozens of additional overseas Chinese “police service centres” around the world, including at least two more in Canada.

In a new report released Monday called “Patrol and Persuade,” the Spain-based non-governmental organization Safeguard Defenders says it used open source statements from People’s Republic of China authorities, Chinese police and state media to document at least 48 additional stations.

In 2017, the Communications Security Establishment revealed the existence of “low-sophistication cyber threat activity” on Twitter targeting the 2015 election.

More recently, a Global News report revealed that China was behind a “vast campaign of foreign interference” in the 2019 election. This interference reportedly included financial payments to at least 11 federal candidates and “numerous Beijing operatives” who worked in campaign offices at the behest of their Communist overlords.

Communist China Operating Illegal Police Stations Worldwide

China has set up at least 54 overseas police stations in 30 countries, including in the United States (New York), Canada, Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Argentina and Nigeria, according to a recent report from Safeguard Defenders, a human rights NGO. Most of these police stations are located in Europe, with nine such police stations in major Spanish cities, four in Italy, and three in Paris, among others.

I hope the Commie 5th Columnists operating in our country are publicly identified and criminally charged, jailed, stripped of citizenship, assets confiscated and deported on completion of very long sentences.

Canada Summoned Chinese Ambassador Over Reports of Unofficial Police Stations on Canadian Soil

Canada has made official complaints to the Chinese ambassador in regard to reports of unofficial Chinese police service stations operating in Canada, a senior official from the foreign affairs department told MPs.

Weldon Epp, director general for Global Affairs Canada’s Asia Pacific Bureau, testified at the House Canada-China committee on Nov. 29, that his department has formally raised objections to the China ambassador in response to reports of over 50 unofficial Chinese police service stations around the world. The revelations were first reported by Spain-based human rights NGO Safeguard Defenders in a September report aimed at investigating Beijing’s long-arm policing and transnational repression.

“We’ve had several engagements. We’ve called the ambassador in on multiple occasions, and we’ve conveyed our deep concern,” he said.
