Canada’s Corrupt Liberal Government
Canada is siding more often with its European allies when it comes to Israel
Ottawa has been particularly critical of Israel recently, often moving in lockstep with European allies as the Trump administration’s relationship with the Netanyahu government deepens.
Last month, Prime Minister Mark Carney warned Israel against launching a “significant” ground offensive in Lebanon in a joint statement alongside European leaders. Just a few weeks later, he condemned the very military invasion he and Canada’s allies said should have been averted.
Parliamentary record contradicts Liberal MP’s claim about forced labour comments … Beijing Stooge Silent
OTTAWA — Parliament’s official record shows Liberal MP Michael Ma was referring to Xinjiang — a region in China where reports of forced labour have been documented — in a committee meeting last month, contradicting the MP’s claims that he was misheard during a contentious exchange with a witness.
Ma was also given the opportunity to correct the official transcript and didn’t do so, the office of the Speaker of the House of Commons told the Star.
Carney is Beijing’s stooge.
If Canada doesn’t improve, I don’t expect my children to stay
At the risk of sounding melodramatic, I do not expect that my sons will choose to stay in Canada when they are adults. Certainly not if this country stays on its current trajectory — namely, on our slow and agonizing decline.
Swathes of Canadians seem unbothered, at best, by the country’s first unelected majority government, made possible by five dubious parliamentary floor crossings. Yes, the majority technically didn’t happen until three byelections, two occurring in Liberal stronghold ridings, clinched the deal; however, Prime Minister Mark Carney would not have a majority government without those floor crossers. That is incontrovertible.
Ottawa spends $43M on health care for rejected asylum claimants sparking backlash
Federal figures show Ottawa spent more than $43 million last year providing health care benefits to illegal immigrants and rejected refugee claimants, fuelling criticism from Conservatives who say taxpayers are footing the bill for services many Canadians struggle to access.
Blacklock’s Reporter says data released by the Department of Immigration indicates 19,771 individuals whose asylum claims were denied still accessed coverage through the Interim Federal Health Program, including prescriptions, clinical care and transportation to medical appointments.
John Ivison: Washington’s set to eat Canada’s digital sovereignty for lunch in the CUSMA talks
Canada’s trade negotiator, Janice Charette, told a business audience this week that our trade agreement with the U.S. is “the envy of the world.”
The consensus in Ottawa seems to be that if Canada can emerge from the renegotiation process with much of the current trade deal intact, it will be a win.
But there is a minority view that looks at the Canada-U.S.-Mexico agreement through the lens of digital sovereignty and prosperity. From that perspective, Canada is not the most privileged of America’s trading partners: rather, it is the most captive.

Prime minister should be required to divest assets, says committee
Prime Minister Mark Carney and other Canadian prime ministers should be required to divest their investment portfolios when they assume office, not just put them in a blind trust, the House of Commons ethics committee recommends in a new report.
In its report made public Thursday morning, the committee said putting assets in a blind trust isn’t good enough, recommending instead “that the Government of Canada amend the Conflict of Interest Act that, for the application of subsection 27(1) the prime minister, as a reporting public office holder, is fully divested from their controlled assets through sale, since placement in a blind trust does not constitute true divestment.”
Joel Kotkin: Canadians must stop romanticizing a failing Europe
Canadians have long looked away from their often gruesome southern neighbor, tempted instead to embrace a chicer European identity. They could point to a more civil public culture, greater bilingualism and a more generous welfare state, compared to the dog-eat-dog reality of the United States. Prime Minister Mark Carney has called Canada “the most European of non-European countries,” and some policy wonks now advocate joining the EU.
Canadian Senator’s Anti-‘Foreign Interference Hysteria’ Group Invites Elected Officials to Fundraiser After Parliament Clash Over United Front Findings
TORONTO — Days after a former Central Intelligence Agency analyst testified in Parliament about a sitting Canadian senator’s group’s alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party, that group, led by Liberal-appointed Senator Yuen Pau Woo and former Conservative senator Victor Oh, reached out to elected officials in the Toronto area and invited them to a fundraising gala.
GOLDSTEIN: Tracking Carney’s ever-changing positions on a trade deal with Trump
If you’re confused about where Canada stands heading into negotiations with the U.S. on the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement on trade, it’s likely because Prime Minister Mark Carney keeps moving the goalposts.
Here’s a brief history of how we got to where we are today …
Michael Higgins: Carney continues to blame Trump for problems the Liberals created
Young Canadians have never had it so bad in this country, and yet you wouldn’t know it if you listened to the prime minister’s cozy “fireside chat” on Sunday.
It was Prime Minister Mark Carney who should have done the listening, particularly to his House of Commons finance committee, which a day after his “we are all in this together” platitudes revealed that younger Canadians are increasingly out of it altogether.
Ottawa has boosted monitoring of Iran’s threats to diaspora in Canada, official says
OTTAWA – A senior executive with Public Safety Canada says federal officials have ramped up their monitoring of Tehran’s threats against members of the Iranian diaspora in Canada.
Sébastien Aubertin-Giguère, who oversees Canada’s response to foreign interference, says Iran and other countries have intensified their pressure tactics targeting their critics abroad.

LILLEY: CBC isn’t telling you the truth on trade talks with USA
The headline from the CBC made it sound like the Trump administration was engaged in a street-level shakedown of their closest ally and neighbour.
“Washington demanding ‘entry fee’ from Ottawa before trade talks: sources,” CBC’s headline read.
Miller refuses to explain Canada Summer Jobs grant to ‘antisemitic’ activist
Heritage Minister Marc Miller is refusing to say who approved a federal summer jobs grant to an organization tied to a Montréal activist with a documented history of “antisemitic” remarks, despite records showing his office signed off on the funding.
Blacklock’s Reporter says internal documents reveal a $2,882 grant under the Canada Summer Jobs program was awarded in 2018 to the Community Media Advocacy Centre, an organization linked to activist Laith Marouf, whose past statements included calls for violence against Jews.
