Majority of Canadians Say the Country Is ‘Headed in the Wrong Direction’: Internal Federal Poll

A confidential poll last year indicated widespread concerns expressed by Canadians who think the federal government is not leading the country in the right direction.

“Most were of the view the country was currently headed in the wrong direction,” said the Nov. 4 poll, reported to the Privy Council Office, and obtained by Blacklock’s Reporter.

MPs accuse officials of obstructing study on alleged foreign meddling in elections

OTTAWA – Members of a parliamentary committee say they continue to wait for information about when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was briefed about Beijing’s alleged interference in the 2019 and 2021 federal elections.

MPs from the procedure and House affairs committee have sent a letter to Canada’s top civil servant, the clerk of the Privy Council, following up on their previous request for answers.

David Johnston given broad powers to probe foreign interference in Canada’s elections

Former governor-general David Johnston will be given broad powers to investigate foreign interference in Canada and paid around $1,500 a day over the course of his probe, which follows Globe and Mail reporting on Chinese government meddling in this country’s elections.

Mr. Johnston will be empowered to “review any classified or unclassified records and documents, including, where necessary in their estimation, records protected by cabinet confidence,” the government said in a statement on Thursday detailing his role as special rapporteur.

Johnston is a member in good standing of Canada’s China Class, he’s already a sell-out like Justin.

How Convenient! Agencies reviewing foreign election interference face a wall of cabinet secrecy

Both of the federal agencies tasked with reviewing what the Liberal government and security agencies knew about allegations of foreign interference in the last two Canadian elections — and when they knew it — do not have an automatic right to review cabinet records.

The National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP) and the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency (NSIRA) are not allowed to review cabinet documents.

The agency that safeguards those records — the Privy Council Office (PCO) — will not guarantee that either agency will get an exemption from that rule for the foreign interference probe.

Liberal MP asks for second look at carbon tax report that shows Canadians will come out behind, asks PBO to make shit up so Liberals look good

‘Most households will see a net loss, paying more in the federal fuel charge and GST,’ the PBO says

… Guelph MP Lloyd Longfield wrote an open letter to Giroux on Wednesday asking him to take a broader perspective, arguing the PBO wasn’t factoring in the cost of climate inaction.

“In light of the overwhelming body of evidence, including your own analysis, that climate change is bringing huge costs to bear on Canadians, I would ask that you launch a new study that integrates both sides of the climate ledger into your assessment,” Longfield wrote.

Military starves while federal bureaucracy feasts

Canadian soldiers were sent to Poland last October, with more sent in February and March. In all, there are about 100 Canadian soldiers in Poland. They are there as part of Operation Unifier to train Ukrainian forces in “battlefield tactics and advanced military skills.”

But the Canadian Armed Forces didn’t send a cook with them. Our soldiers were told to eat out at local restaurants and turn in their receipts to be paid back.

Except they aren’t being reimbursed. Like seemingly everything else in the federal government, there is a months-long backlog in processing their expense claims.

19 Canadians detained in northeastern Syria on their way back to Canada: sources

After more than four years of living in an open air prison, 19 Canadians detained in northeastern Syria are on their way back to Canada, sources tell CTV News.

Six women and their 13 children were taken out of Al-Roj camp Tuesday evening by Canadian officials according to one eyewitness account.

They are not victims. They joined a Muslim murder cult. Their spawn are likely demented. They should be taken from the psycho mamas and raised in Christian homes.

Sabrina Maddeaux: Rat-infested 24 Sussex the perfect metaphor for Trudeau’s Canada

Imagine the scene. Prime minister’s official residence — early summer — a swanky garden party in full swing. Over one thousand Laurentian elites and politicos hobnob under a tent over wine and canapés as storm clouds gather outside. No one suspects complete and utter disaster, what historians would come to call God’s 11th plague, is about to strike.

I think it’s a sign that Trudeau is a minion of Satan. Nothing else explains his stupid evil.

Guilbeault has no plan for those left behind by green ‘innovation’

How can Canada contribute the most to the fight against climate change? Not by nickel and diming our own population

Lunatic

“A real piece of work.” That’s how Ontario Premier Doug Ford described federal environment minister Steven Guilbault after the latter lambasted him for having “no plan to fight climate change.” The riff came about after Ford criticized the latest hike in the federal carbon tax, from 50$ to 65$ per ton effective April 1, which raised the price of gas by three cents a litre.

Canadian Public Requires ‘Increased Education’ if Electric Vehicle Mandate Is to be Met: Federal Report

The general public needs to receive “increased education” to quell broad concerns about electric vehicles (EV) if the government’s EV mandate over the next 12 years is to be met, says an in-house federal research report.

Titled “Canadians’ awareness, knowledge and attitudes related to zero emission vehicles” and published in February, the report included results of a survey conducted in September and October 2022 with over 3,450 Canadian adults participating, as first reported by Blacklock’s Reporter.

Tom Mulcair: Trudeau Liberals have become the Phoenix pay system of Canadian governments

Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault had to admit the obvious during a recent interview. Appearing Sunday on CTV’s Question Period with Vassy Kapelos, Guilbeault explained that there will indeed be a cost to families for the carbon tax.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wore a bright green tie to last week’s budget announcement. It was supposed to be a nod to his big new vision for a green economy of the future. While there are worthwhile initiatives in the budget, everything Trudeau and the Liberals say on the environment and the economy has to be measured against their past performance. It’s been empty promise after empty promise, with no results.

I hope he just pretends to pursue the EV folly. We may save some money if he follows his usual suck and blow routine.

At the National Citizens Inquiry in Toronto, former CBC reporter Rodney Palmer delivered testimony critical of Canada’s public broadcaster during the COVID-19 crisis. A growing number of Canadians believe big grocery chains are profiteering from food inflation and unnecessarily pushing prices higher according to a new survey released Tuesday.
