“A Nanos Research Group poll, reported by Bloomberg News, found that only 17% of respondents think the country should accept more immigrants in 2021 than it did in 2020.

The result is a shunning of majority opinion by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. As Cultural Action Party has pointed out, within the world of public polls in Canada, a curious state-of-affairs exists.

Immigration policy should be designed solely to benefit citizens not the corporate sector or political parties as is the case in Canada.

Ethics Committee to Summon Kielburger Brothers to Testify

This should be under oath with penalties for perjury:

Members of the House of Commons ethics committee have unanimously voted to summon WE Charity co-founders Craig and Marc Kielburger to testify.

Last week, they declined requests to do so, a fact that MPs from all parties expressed concerns about on Monday.

A summons from a Commons committee has legal force, and the motion gives the brothers until Friday to appear.

The Commons ethics committee wants to hear from the Kielburger brothers as part of ongoing scrutiny of a federal agreement to have WE manage a now-cancelled student services grant program.

But the charity had noted that New Democrat MP Charlie Angus has requested that the RCMP and the Canada Revenue Agency investigate WE’s operations.

The charity said it would be unfair to subject it to what it called a partisan committee investigation at the same time.

Make the little sh— testify:

The ethics and the procedure and House affairs committees have both requested that Craig and Marc Kielburger come forward and testify. They declined. In a March 3 statement, WE Charity referenced Feb. 28 comments by NDP MP Charlie Angus, who said he wrote to the Canada Revenue Agency and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police requesting an investigation into the charity.

“Accordingly, WE Charity and its leadership are declining the additional requests to testify from the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics and also the Procedure and House Affairs Committee,” said a WE Charity press statement.

The statement said the charity has already testified at various “highly partisan” committee meetings, and that it would continue to work with Dion’s investigation.

At this point, the committees could issue a summons, compelling the Kielburgers to attend. If they continue to refuse, according to the House of Commons Procedure and Practice, the committee can report it to the House of Commons, and the House “then may order the witness to appear” and they will be “called to the Bar” — a literal brass bar across the House of Commons — to explain themselves.

The House has the power, similar to a court, to compel someone’s presence.

“If the witness disobeys the order, the witness may be declared guilty of contempt,” the House manual says.

OTTAWA – “Horrifying” stories of WE Charity’s alleged plaque-swapping and other dubious practices has prompted calls for investigations by the RCMP, the Canada Revenue Agency and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.

Charity experts fear that the allegations will make Canadians less likely to open their wallets to other charities, already dealing with a downturn due to the pandemic.

WE Charity was ‘duplicitous’ in its Kenya dealings, claims prominent donor Reed Cowan

A prominent donor to WE Charity has alleged that the charity was “duplicitous” in its relationships with donors and has failed to provide a proper accounting of its use of donor funds in Kenya.

Reed Cowan, a U.S. television journalist who estimates that he has mobilized millions of dollars for WE Charity, told a House of Commons committee that the charity had misled donors by promising sponsorship of the same Kenyan school to different groups without their knowledge.

It’s no wonder the Kielburgers and the Liberal Party embraced one another, they’re philosophical and ethical twins convinced they’re doing “The Lords Work.”

On June 25, 2020, the WE Charity was awarded a federal contract of $43.5 million to administer a student summer grant program, despite the organization’s close ties to the Trudeau family. In July 2020, the federal Ethics Commissioner launched an investigation into whether Trudeau and his then-finance minister Bill Morneau had violated the Conflict of Interest Act.

The latest draw unfairly rewards the low scorers, who “took a flyer” and entered the pool, he said, even if they have poor qualifications, poor language skills and poor job prospects while qualified applicants who are still collecting documentation and not yet in the system lose out.

“The draw transforms a well-structured and predictable system into a lottery ticket,” said Karas. “It makes the system look worthless and game-able.”

Liberal MP asks Speaker to strike Ramesh Sangha’s comments about Sikh support of Khalistani extremists from official record

A Liberal MP has asked the Speaker of the House of Commons to strike a former Liberal caucus member’s comments from the official record after he made a statement he said “impinged on the reputation” of Sikh MPs.

Ramesh Sangha, who was removed from his party’s caucus last month, read a statement before question period today accusing Sikh MPs of pressuring the government in 2018 to have the word “Sikh” removed from the 2018 Public Report on the Terrorist Threat in Canada.

Sangha said the Sikh MPs — he did not name them — had a “hidden agenda” to “camouflage” the names of Sikhs linked to the Khalistani extremist movement.
