Hail Mary By Justin’s Journos – Let’s run with that “Foreign ‘adversaries’ may have leveraged ‘freedom movement’ to ‘advance agendas’ angle … again

Unnamed foreign “adversaries” may have leveraged the Canadian “freedom movement” protests to advance their own interests, a newly-disclosed intelligence report suggest.

According to previously secret assessments by the Ontario Provincial Police’s (OPP) intelligence branch, the “available information” on Feb. 19 suggested that foreign actors may have pushed support for the movement, which fueled the convoy blockades in Ottawa and across the country, “to protect or enhance their own strategic economic and political interests.”

Again? First they did then they didn’t, now they did! Anything for Justin!

OPP Intelligence Head Concerned With False Allegations of Extremism made by Politicians, Media Against Convoy Protesters

“So when I read accounts that the state of Russia had something to do with it, or that this was a result of American influence, either financially or ideologically, or that Donald Trump was behind it, or that it was un-Canadian, or that the people participating were un-Canadian and that they were not Canadian views and they were extremists, I found it to be problematic.”

Wow an honest public servant. Compare and contrast with Justin, the CBC and the rest of those frauds.

Canadian MPs across the spectrum see threats to democracy: ‘There’s no common middle ground’

OTTAWA — In a troubled world, Canadian democracy endures. But some sitting members of Parliament are worried — for various reasons — that it is getting weaker.

Ryan Turnbull is one of them. The Liberal MP for Whitby was first elected in 2019, and sees the problem through the lens of his education in philosophy: the ideal of democracy allows for public debate on a common ground of fact and reality, but Turnbull believes persistent misinformation and its self-serving weaponization by some politicians is threatening this shared basis for a functioning public discourse.

Mostly this is LPC, NDP and Elizabeth May griping about the scary convoy and such. The Star’s is gonna need a bigger fainting couch.

CBC Has Nervous Breakdown! Convoy donors gave more than $460K to CPC leadership race — and many were first-time federal donors

Canadians who donated to the Ottawa convoy protest contributed more than $460,000 to Conservative leadership candidates — and many of them were donating to a federal political party for the first time — an analysis by CBC News shows.

A comparison of donations to Conservative leadership contenders up to Aug. 1 with the GiveSendGo crowdfunding campaign for the convoy protest found over 3,100 people who contributed to both campaigns, based on identical combinations of names and postal codes.

The lion’s share of convoy donors’ leadership campaign donations went to Pierre Poilievre’s campaign.

OMG! Convoy supporters donated! And many were 1st time donors! That must be against the law!

Blackie’s Star: Only Crazy People Disagree With Us

Surging angry, dangerous Canadians have no arguments, so they can’t be argued away

Anger stalks the land, and Canada is finally talking about it. You could blame the pandemic, but as with just about everything, the pandemic exacerbated existing conditions. The seeds were already in the ground.

But we need to remember something: a great deal of the current anger in this country is based on grievances that aren’t real. We can glaze over the use of “conspiracy theories” or “misinformation” as a catch-all descriptor, but we’re talking about people being angry over largely imaginary problems. A lot of it isn’t based in the real world at all.

It’s all in your head!

The coming confrontation over government intervention in the media

Summer is nearly at an end. Parliament is about to resume. The Conservatives are about to elect a new leader. And our politics are about to enter a period of sharper definition, with clearer differences between the two main parties. Nowhere is this more true, seemingly, than over the issue of government involvement in the media: broadcast, print and internet-based.

Canadian politics has a rage problem — and politicians have to be part of the solution

On a June day nearly 40 years ago, Brian Mulroney happened upon a 63-year-old woman named Solange Denis. Mulroney’s government was proposing to make a change to Old Age Security. Denis was mad about that and — with reporters watching — she conveyed her displeasure directly to the prime minister.

Mulroney’s run-in with Denis became a national story. The government was compelled to back down and “Goodbye Charlie Brown” subsequently became shorthand for how a single interaction with a voter can waylay a politician and a government.

What happened to Chrystia Freeland in Grande Prairie, Alberta last week was something else entirely — and many political leaders, from across the partisan spectrum, seemed to recognize that immediately. Among those who condemned the incident were Alberta Premier Jason Kenney and Ontario Premier Doug Ford, two politicians who have had their differences with the federal Liberal government.

The nerve of the CBC publishing this tripe. The anger at the Trudeau Liberals is justified.

Media’s unseemly Laflammesturbation

In an open letter, prominent Canadians call on Bell to ‘make things right’ for LaFlamme and the public

A group of prominent Canadians including artists, journalists, civil rights activists, politicians and business executives is calling on Bell Canada to ‘make things right’ after the dismissal of CTV News anchor Lisa LaFlamme.

In an open letter published on Saturday in The Globe and Mail, they say Bell Media’s ‘business decision’ to fire the award-winning journalist “in the very prime of her career” has had a profound impact on everyone.

Uh no. Not even close.

This must be the 400th article on Laflamme getting canned with no end in sight.

No one I know gives a shit but tax payer money helped produce this orgy of self-love by Trudeau’s media.

Trudeau Granted Establishment Media $100-Million+ Bailout

The Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) on Tuesday revealed direct federal subsidies to the broadcast industry during the pandemic exceeded $100 million in Canadian dollars (about $77 million U.S.), plus a $36.5 million giveaway from waiving license fees.

Canada’s convoy movement waved the Dutch flag. Then conspiracy theories swirled about fertilizer and bugs

Over the summer, supporters of the Freedom Convoy movement have continued to hold anti-mandate demonstrations across the country, attracting anywhere from a few dozen to several hundred people in places like Sudbury, Ont., Acheson, Alta., and Regina.

Like the protests in Ottawa last winter, these smaller demonstrations featured big rigs, pickup trucks and honking — though they tended to last only a few hours and kept to parking lots or slow-moving convoys on highways.

But they also featured a new — and perhaps surprising — symbol: The flag of the Netherlands was being waved alongside the more familiar Maple Leaf and F–k Trudeau banners.

I am grateful to see that F*ck Trudeau banners are recognized as part of the political landscape.

The CBC is in full “Scare Mode”. All “right wing media” in Canada are spreaders of crazy conspiracy theories harmful to the national fabric crafted by Justin the Savior.

Women And Racialized Journalists In Canada Facing New Wave Of Harassment And Threats

A series of mainstream Canadian journalists and public activists received identical emails last week. The message suggested that people would be waiting outside a young reporter’s home, and implied coordinated plans for violence and stalking amid a flurry of racial and gender-based slurs.

Whether or not the premise of the email is true, the violent message was sent to numerous Canadian women who dare to be public figures. The calls in the text for broken windows and “wig-removal service” on specific journalists has one intention – to intimidate.

Success Of Right Wing Podcasts An Annoyance To Globe Reporter & Friends

How podcasts have become misinformation machines — and what can be done about it

“… That’s part of the appeal of podcasts for listeners who feel disenfranchised from mainstream news and media.

“There has been a clamouring in recent years for a totally independent and isolated and bubble-wrapped media ecosystem on the right — and they’ve created it,” Ling said.

“They’ve created it thanks to a ton of money from some investors and ideologues, but also because there’s been just an outpouring of enthusiasm.”

Not satisfied that the Left dominates Canada’s government paid media Rachel and friends denounce the success of scary right wing podcasts. Seriously. It’s the same old MSM propaganda tactics at work, create a “scare” to advance an agenda and demonize dissent.

“Journalist” Rachel Gilmore travels in the usual circles.

One of the “experts” cited is Ahmed Al-Rawi,  he is the typical sort of left wing ideologue  employed at our universities who refers to “hookers” as front line pandemic workers. Loves him his Palestine too, very pleased to remind us that so does Salman Rushdie.

Pro-Trudeau propaganda outlet “fact-checks” independent journalism

What do you do if you are Justin Trudeau and an independent journalist exposes your flawed Covid response? You deploy the “fact-checkers” at Press Progress to discredit that reporting and the journalist, of course! That’s exactly what happened this week when Press Progress jumped at the chance to protect Trudeau by labelling Rupa Subramanya’s bombshell report as “misleading.”

The CBC is about to get WAY worse

The CBC is about to get 30% more woke thanks to new requirements imposed on them by the Canadian Radio‑television and Telecommunications (CRTC). The CBC will now have to dedicate 30% of its English-language programming to woke causes such as promoting “racialized” voices,” “disabled voices” and language minorities. Did anyone on the woke left really feel that the CBC wasn’t serving them enough biased left wing content? Also, doesn’t the CBC already surpass that target? Harrison Faulkner breaks it all down on this week’s episode of Ratio’d.
