China’s domination of European ports a security threat, warns Nato official

Beijing’s ownership of communications networks, harbours and shipping is being viewed with increasing alarm by western security services in their assessment of the threat posed by China and Russia to Europe’s critical infrastructure, a Nato official has warned.

In the aftermath of the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipeline last autumn, Nato has set up a special military unit to investigate the security of critical undersea infrastructure.

Polls suggest public has begun to suspect Trudeau is a deceitful ChiCom co-conspirator

John Ivison: Interference news has Liberals looking soft on a country intent on undermining our democracy

Polls suggest voters are skeptical, not only of the Trudeau government’s relationship with China, but also about the PM’s ability to tell voters the truth

OTTAWA — The serenity shown by one senior Liberal official in late March over the Chinese foreign interference saga was at odds with the fever that was gripping Ottawa.

At the time, it seemed the government was in real trouble. There was compelling testimony that suggested the Liberal party was warned by the security services that some of its candidates were helped by the Chinese government in successive elections.

The Michael Chong revelations leave little doubt that the Trudeau and his Liberal Party are criminally negligent for failing to notify Chong of the threat to his family from the Communist Chinese.

It was not an oversight. It is collusion, it is treason.

Trudeau has asked for yet another bullshit investigation designed to exonerate himself of blame for allowing his ChiCom pals efforts to harm a Conservative MP

Trudeau says he’s asked for investigation of Chinese foreign interference aimed at Conservative MP

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he’s asked his officials to investigate a report in The Globe and Mail that says the Chinese government has targeted Canadian MPs behind a Parliamentary motion declaring Beijing’s oppression of Uyghurs to constitute genocide.

Speaking in Question Period Monday, Mr. Trudeau was asked by Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre why a report on the matter from CSIS was produced in 2021 but no action was taken. He noted the Chinese diplomat reported by The Globe and Mail as involved in targeting Conservative MP Michael Chong is still listed as working in Beijing’s Toronto consulate.

“This is absolutely unacceptable and it shouldn’t have happened,” Mr. Trudeau told the Commons.

Seriously. We need to learn to riot like the French.

Liberal Minister Pinnochio Mendicino Caught In Lie: Chinese Police Stations Still Open In Quebec

Alleged Chinese police stations still open in Quebec, despite minister’s claims

MONTREAL – Two Montreal-area community groups under investigation for allegedly hosting secret Chinese government police stations say they are operating normally.

Their comments contradict claims made last week by federal Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino, who told a parliamentary committee that the RCMP had closed all the alleged secret police stations in the country.

Why Does Xi’s Puppet Trudeau Fight The Implementation Of A Foreign Agent Registry? Maybe Because A Report By CSIS Says It Would Be An Obstacle To China’s Interference In Canada

China views Canada as a ‘high priority’ for interference: CSIS report

China sees Canada as a “high-priority target” and employs “incentives and punishment” as part of a vast influence network directed at legislators, business executives and diaspora communities in this country, according to a top-secret intelligence assessment from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.

The report warned that Beijing is the “foremost perpetrator” of foreign interference in Canada. Its agents are unconcerned about repercussions, the report says, because of the lack of obstacles such as a foreign-influence registry of the kind established in the United States and Australia.

Justin has been harping about the potential dangers of a foreign agent registry because Canada is of course racist and we’ll probably use it to single out his ChiCom buddies and disrupt the China Grift. That sounds like the voice of Xi’s Puppet rather than a PM with the nation’s best interests in mind.

The continued exposure of China’s influence operations in Canada points to willful blindness bordering on collusion by the Trudeau government.

I maintain the ongoing exposure of China’s shenanigans may not be the work of a single leaker in CSIS and may in fact be a joint effort involving an ally or allies of Canada seeking to topple Xi’s Puppet because of the obvious security risk Trudeau and his party pose to the west.

PS. In the CBC article linked above detailing the potential harms of a foreign registry Trudeau references the internment of Italian Canadians during WW II. One small problem for Junior is that with a few unfortunate exceptions most detainess really were fascists.

The harm done by Justin Trudeau’s apology to Italian-Canadians might require an apology of its own

… Mr. Liberati compiled his own biographical database of the internees. He found police had detailed dossiers indicating involvement in fascist organizations for at least 100 of them. Even 500, however, represented a small fraction of the 3,500 Italian-Canadians known to have been members of local fascist groups.

“[M]any who later professed their loyalty to Canada had in fact been fervent Fascists and had maintained their positions even during their internment,” Mr. Liberati writes.

The spotlight is shining a little hotter on the Trudeau Family Business

This Exposes the Chinese Communist Party’s Deep Insecurity

There may come a day when the people of East Turkestan, Tibet, Southern Mongolia, and elsewhere are freed from communist domination.

There exists a vast taxonomy of political gaffes, including everything from verbal and Freudian slips to hot-mic fiascos and literal pratfalls, but few of these are of any lasting consequence. It might be mildly embarrassing for an American president to, say, accidentally mix up the rugby-playing All Blacks and the paramilitary Black and Tans, or to vomit in the lap of his Japanese counterpart during a nasty bout of acute gastroenteritis, but such faux pas, however unfortunate, are hardly meaningful in historical terms. Far more interesting are the notorious Kinsley gaffes, wherein a politician accidentally says what he or she really thinks, and in doing so provides welcome insight into the internal machinations of the political mind.

Former Trudeau Foundation head says past leadership misled Canadians on Chinese donation

Former Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation president Pascale Fournier told MPs Friday she believes the non-profit organization’s earlier leadership misled the country by characterizing a donation from wealthy Chinese benefactors as a Canadian donation.

Ms. Fournier, who resigned her post in March, testified before the Commons ethics committee Friday on the crisis at the publicly financed foundation that arose after The Globe and Mail reported that the Chinese government had orchestrated $1-million in donations to the foundation and the University of Montreal law school in hopes of influencing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Former Trudeau Foundation CEO says she resigned after pushback on ChiCom donation audit

OTTAWA – The former CEO of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation says she resigned because some members of its board of directors refused to recuse themselves from involvement in an independent forensic audit into a 2016 donation that she says was linked to China.

Pascale Fournier and eight other board members of the foundation resigned on April 11.

Fournier was a witness at the House of Commons ethics committee this morning as part of its study on foreign interference in Canada.

How the West Is Helping Train China’s Military

The PLA enjoyed their stay in Canada.

China is reportedly recruiting former air force pilots from the West to understand better how Western military aircraft and pilots operate. Up to 30 former UK military pilots are believed to have traveled to China since 2019 to work as instructors in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

“They are a very attractive body of people to then pass on that knowledge. It’s taking Western pilots of great experience to help develop Chinese military air force tactics and capabilities,” an unnamed Western official said. “Money,” he added, “is a strong motivator.”

Conservative MP accuses minister of taking ‘no meaningful action’ on Chinese ‘police stations’

… In a testy exchange, Cooper pressed Mendicino to explain why Canada hasn’t arrested any officials or expelled any diplomats tied to the handful of police stations China is believed to have operated in Canada.

Human rights groups have accused the Chinese government of using the stations to threaten and monitor members of the diaspora abroad.

“Not a single Beijing diplomat expelled. Why not, minister?” asked Cooper. “You’ve taken no meaningful action.”

Chinese cars pose an existential threat to Europe

Electric vehicles are taking over from German diesel

The European automotive sector — above all the German car industry — is a bulwark of the EU’s economic might. But for how much longer? It’s becoming increasingly clear that Chinese exports pose an existential threat.

This week, Brad Setser, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, tweeted out two charts that illustrate the astonishing speed and scale of recent developments.

The Chinese Communist Party’s Secret Projects in the US: What Is Going On?

In 2018, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) celebrated “Michigan-China Week” to highlight the growing economic ties between Michigan and China. At the time, Michigan already had more than 300 Chinese companies located in the state, with more than $4 billion in investment, supporting roughly 6,000 jobs. MEDC wanted to publicize this story in its bureaucratic hopes that more Chinese businesses would follow.
