This will end a long career

This is what CAF members have received. Vaccination Refusal is not an option for a service member.

The AHS’ Mismanagement of ICU Beds appears linked to the NDP’s War against Jason Kenney

I am no fan of Alberta Premier Jason Kenney, or the UCP for that matter, and I think his new regime of draconian restrictions and passport system is absolutely abysmal, but at the same time, it would be dishonest to hold Kenney solely responsible for the current situation. There are clearly forces inside and outside of the government pressuring Kenney and the UCP into blowing up the COVID-19 situation into something worse than it really is.

Federal public servants, RCMP and air and rail travellers must be vaccinated by month’s end, Trudeau says

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unveiled his government’s mandatory vaccine policy today — a mandate that will require public servants to either get their shots by month’s end or be forced into an unpaid leave of absence.

All would-be travellers must also be fully vaccinated by Oct. 30 before boarding planes, trains or marine vessels.

Federal contractors, like cleaning staff, must also be fully vaccinated to gain access to government buildings. The estimated 267,000 employees covered by this policy must report their vaccination status by Oct. 29.

I’m betting a lawsuit or two will be in order.

New Zealand Mongrel Mob leader given essential worker exemption to help boost Covid tests

New Zealand’s prime minister Jacinda Ardern has endorsed granting a Mongrel Mob leader special exemption to cross Auckland’s border so he could help minimise Covid-19 spread in hard to reach communities.

The head of the Waikato Mongrel Mob chapter, Sonny Fatupaito, was given essential worker status, which enabled him to enter Auckland last weekend, while the city was under level three lockdown, with a border in place.

Wuhan scientists and US researchers planned to create a new coronavirus in 2018

US and Chinese scientists were planning to create a new coronavirus before the pandemic erupted, leaked proposals show.

Last month, a grant application submitted to the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa) revealed that an international team of scientists had planned to mix genetic data of similar strains to create a new virus.

The grant application was made in 2018 and leaked to Drastic, the pandemic origins analysis group.

I think the China class should be rounded up.

Even telecommuting federal public servants must be vaccinated draft policy states: union executive

OTTAWA — Even federal employees who work from home will have to be vaccinated to keep their jobs if the government’s draft mandatory-vaccine policy stands, according to one union executive.

Stephane Aubry, vice-president of the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC), says the draft, as well as other communication between unions and the government, suggests that the Treasury Board is leaning toward making vaccination a condition of employment.

That won’t happen. Public service union members are too important to LPC election prospects, some sort of expensive, to us, compromise will be worked out.

The Extraordinary Hypocrisy of Molnupiravir

Trigger alert: This article may upset those who care about other human beings.

Molnupiravir (mull-noo-’peer-aveer) is the talk of the town, belle of the ball in the press. “Game changer” is the word on the street, according to a message to Science Insider:

“Molnupiravir is unquestionably a game changer! The large effect size, and the ease of administration change the paradigm of mild COVID-19 treatment with a potential to reduce COVID-19 death rates.”

PCR test kit orders DOUBLED in Wuhan seven months BEFORE first reported Covid case in fresh evidence that China covered up early spread

Orders for PCR test kits spiked in the Chinese province where Covid originated seven months before the first case was reported, it has emerged, providing fresh evidence that the disease was circulating for months before Beijing reported it to the world.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology, the Wuhan University of Science and Technology and the Hubei CDC were all among institutions placing unusually-large orders for PCR test kits starting in May 2019, according to new research.

US State With Highest Vaccination Rate Hit by Virus Surge

Vermont, the state with the highest vaccination rate in the United States, is experiencing a CCP virus surge at levels not seen since the pandemic’s peak last winter.

The number of cases in Vermont is at a record level, hospitalizations are close to the records notched last winter, and the state recorded the deadliest day and the second deadliest month of the pandemic in September.

More than 69 percent of Vermont’s population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Sept. 24, according to the CDC, far above the national rate of 56 percent.

89% are at least partially vaccinated, very like Ontario.

CNBC anchor to Fauci: Are you sure breakthrough infections are as rare as you guys keep claiming?

A notable example from Friday of a mainstream non-Fox news anchor expressing some polite skepticism about vaccine efficacy. I understand that the vaccines work to prevent hospitalization and death and that’s amazing, says Sara Eisen, but the impression given by public-health experts is that they largely prevent infections too, and, well, do they?
