A Toronto nursing home left isolation rooms empty as COVID-19 spread on crowded floors, killing 81

At 6:41 p.m. on Dec. 10, an urgent email went out to families of residents at Tendercare Living Centre.

The long-term-care home warned of an escalating COVID-19 outbreak at the 254-bed facility in the eastern Toronto suburb of Scarborough.

“Residents who have Covid-19 will be moved to the 4th floor on December 11, 2020,” read the email, signed by Francis Martis, executive director and Esther Spencer, director of care.

Guidance for what Canadians can, and can’t do after vaccines coming ‘shortly’ says discredited Hajdu

Guidance for what Canadians can, and can’t do after vaccines coming ‘shortly’ says discredited Hajdu

OTTAWA — Canadians will “shortly” receive federal guidance around what they can, and can’t do safely after their first and second COVID-19 shots, according to Health Minister Patty Hajdu.

Facing questions about why Canada has yet to offer any formal guidance to people who have been vaccinated about what degree of risk they have in certain circumstances in the way the United States has, Hajdu said it’s in the works.

Why warnings of a deadly 3rd wave in Canada may have gone unheeded

It was a Friday in February and Canada’s COVID-19 situation seemed to be improving. The second wave had crested. Just over 3,000 cases were reported countrywide that day, Feb. 19, down from a peak of 8,766 six weeks earlier.

Dr. Theresa Tam, however, came to a virtual news conference with a warning. New variants of the novel coronavirus threatened the country’s progress.

“We’ve been saying all along that if we ease measures too soon, the epidemic will resurge even stronger. But with highly contagious variants in our midst, the threat of uncontrolled epidemic growth is significantly elevated,” Canada’s chief public health officer said.

Tam has zero credibility. She parroted the Communist Chinese Party line and spread falsehoods from spread to masks etc etc etc.

Canadians who flout quarantine laws could face stiffer penalties, Trudeau says

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said today his government is open to stricter penalties for travellers who violate the mandatory quarantine period.

The PM also appeared to swat away Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s call for stronger restrictions at the land border, arguing the measures now in place are working.

“We’re always looking at doing more enforcement, at stepping up on the penalties on that, and we’ll continue to work with the provinces on that,” Trudeau told a media briefing in Ottawa today.

Risk from COVID-19 variants remains after first dose of Pfizer vaccine, U.K. study finds

“This study highlights the importance of getting second doses of the vaccine rolled out to protect the population,” said Rosemary Boyton, a professor of immunology and respiratory medicine at Imperial who co-led the study.

“People who have had their first dose of vaccine and who have not previously been infected with SARS-CoV-2 are not fully protected against the circulating ‘variants of concern’.”

MPP Randy Hillier charged after organizing Kemptville anti-lockdown rally

Ontario Provincial Police have charged independent MPP Randy Hillier for his role in an anti-lockdown rally last month that drew dozens of people to a restaurant in Kemptville, Ont.

Hillier was one of four people charged Thursday for defying COVID-19 restrictions at the South Branch Bistro on April 8, 2021.

Police identified Hillier, the MPP for Lanark–Frontenac–Kingston and a vocal opponent of the province’s COVID-19 rules, as an organizer of the rally.

Manitoba teachers will be able to get vaccinated in North Dakota, premier says

An agreement announced last week that allows Manitoba truck drivers who regularly cross the border into North Dakota to get vaccinated in the U.S. will be extended to teachers and other school workers, he said.

“The way this will work is the person will go to the border, [cross], get a vaccine and must come immediately back. They’re not going shopping in Grand Forks,” Pallister said during a news conference Thursday.

‘I recorded them murdering patients’: COVID nurse goes public with shocker

A nurse who responded during America’s 2020 fight against COVID-19, traveling from Florida to New York to help in one of the hospitals in that pandemic-struck city, reports the health care system was about as bad as the pandemic itself.

“I recorded them murdering patients. I recorded just the complete and absolute disregard for human life,” Erin Maria Olzewski said during an interview with LifeSiteNews.

Cuomo Nursing Home Scandal Worse Than Previously Reported, Aides ‘Spent Months’ Hiding Death Toll

Aides to New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo “spent months” trying to obscure the death toll associated with Cuomo’s now-infamous nursing home policy, according to a report from the New York Times, repeatedly overruling state health officials who authorized sharing the death toll with the public and with other New York legislators.

Oregon city declares state of emergency to end COVID mandates

Here’s an example of some outside the COVID box thinking that might start catching on in other parts of the country. Out in the eastern part of Oregon, many of the residents and business owners of Baker City (population: 9,752) have long since grown tired of the lockdowns and mask mandates being kept in place by Governor Kate Brown. Mayor Kerry McQuisten, who was just sworn in this January, listened to the complaints of her constituents and began a process to determine if there was anything that could be done about the situation. The result was a proposal to declare Baker City to be a “Common Sense Sanctuary” dedicated to ending the harm being caused to businesses and residents by the mandates.

Ontario reports 3,871 new Wuhan Pneumonia cases … Stop! You Can’t Say Wuhan Pneumonia Says Red China Linked Conservative MPP

Ontario reports 3,871 new COVID-19 cases and 41 more deaths

Ontario reported more than 3,800 new coronavirus cases and 41 more deaths on Thursday, as one epidemiologist says the province is showing “early signs of improvement” amid the third wave of the pandemic.

Provincial health officials logged 3,871 new COVID-19 cases today, up from 3,480 infections recorded on Wednesday.

‘Wuhan pneumonia’: Ontario MPPs urge Chinese-Canadian doctor to remove ‘divisive’ sign

Two Toronto-based politicians are pressing a Chinese-Canadian doctor to remove a sign on his office door – in Chinese – that refers to COVID-19 as the “Wuhan pneumonia,” complaining the wording could incite anti-Asian hatred.

Vincent Ke, a Progressive Conservative member of the provincial legislature with a history of ties to the Chinese government, said Kong may have made an innocent mistake, but it doesn’t matter that the mention of Wuhan was in Chinese.

“No matter the language spoken or written, the term ‘Wuhan pneumonia’ to describe the COVID-19 virus is not just incorrect, it is inflammatory,” a spokesman for the politician said by email.

Lots of CCP fanboys have jumped on this “Asian Hate Crime” bandwagon. They are much too inscrutable for me to discern a possible motive.
