Randall Denley: Doug Ford’s nonsensical Ontario-wide lockdown is his dumbest move yet

Ontario Premier Doug Ford made the dumbest move of his premiership Monday. His severe pandemic lockdown of the entire province will not only subject millions of Ontarians to unnecessary restrictions, it effectively undermines the idea that his government’s decision-making is driven by science, logic or even a minimum of rationality.

There is a significant COVID problem in Toronto, the GTA and Windsor-Essex. That’s not going to be helped one bit by shutting down everyday life in Ottawa, Northern Ontario and other areas where COVID numbers are light.

Pastor irked after Covid police called during London, Ont. collapse victim’s funeral

The pastor at a Port Burwell church says he was surprised to get a call from police during the funeral for a young man killed in the partial collapse of an under-construction apartment complex in London.

Pastor Herman Bueckert of the Lighthouse Gospel Church says an OPP officer left him a voicemail citing a report of overcapacity issues at the church, where mourners had gathered last Thursday for John Martens’ funeral.

Who in hell rats out a funeral church service?

COVID, Woke Science—and Death

COVID, Woke Science—and Death

In this brave new world of ours, will we be pruning back the elderly altogether by credentialed “ethicists,” whether because of their longevity or race?

Since March, the Left has proclaimed itself the guardian of science in dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic. Its champions are the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Dr. Fauci. All in the past have rendered valuable service to the public, and often life-saving aid.

Yet the mixture of COVID-19, the first national quarantine, and Trump Derangement Syndrome have combined to give us reason to question their judgment. These authorities variously have issued conflicting recommendations to wear, then not to wear, and finally to wear masks. Or they have both criticized and then advised travel bans.

New Study Shows Mask Mandates Had Zero Effect in Florida or Nationwide, But the Lie Continues

Obviously, no amount of evidence, data, trends, facts, studies, or science will ever convince most ‘public health officials’ that masks aren’t doing squat to stop the spread of COVID-19. Cases and deaths continue to spike (yes, many of these are super-sensitive PCR test-driven numbers, but still) despite the fact that well over 90% of the country are complying with their absurd mandates. Yet, predictably, the virus keeps going right on virusing, as highly contagious respiratory viruses, unfortunately, tend to do, especially once cold weather hits.

Covid-19 vaccine rollout will see crime ‘increase dramatically’, Interpol chief warns

Interpol’s secretary general, Dr Jürgen Stock, has warned that the authorities are expecting a significant spike in thefts, as criminals attempt to steal supplies of Covid-19 vaccines.

Stock raised concerns about the potential situation facing governments, as countries around the world prepare for and seek to conduct mass vaccination campaigns, following the authorization of several Covid-19 vaccines by medical agencies.

Ontario reports 2,123 new Wuhan Flu cases

Ontario reported 2,123 new COVID-19 cases on Monday and 17 deaths, a decline from the previous three days of data, as the Ford government prepares to announce a widespread lockdown to prevent breakdowns in the healthcare system.

“Locally, there are 611 new cases in Toronto, 480 in Peel, 192 in York Region and 138 in Windsor-Essex County,” Health Minister Christine Elliott wrote on Twitter.

WHO (Finally) Admits PCR Tests Create False Positives

Warnings concerning high CT value of tests are months too late…so why are they appearing now? The potential explanation is shockingly cynical…

Progressive hypocrite AOC gets Covid Vaccine ahead of needy – Twitter users vent at Congress rule that sees ‘politicians cutting the line’

AOC wears two masks to get her Pfizer vaccine and shares moment with her 8.2m Instagram followers – but Twitter users vent at Congress rule that sees ‘politicians cutting the line’

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez documented her experience getting the COVID-19 vaccine on Instagram in an effort to convince followers to follow suit when it becomes available to them.

The New York socialist, known for her strong social media presence, posted a string of videos on Friday when the jab was offered to her and other members of Congress.

At the start of the thread, the 31-year-old urged her 8.2 million followers to send in their questions, writing: ‘Just like wearing a mask, I’d never advise you to do something I wasn’t willing to do myself.’

AOC is a true socialist, willing to cut in line ahead of those who need it most.

‘Show us the evidence’: Scientists call for clarity on claim that new Covid-19 variant strain is 70% more contagious

Boris Johnson was last night urged to publish clear evidence of the Covid data he used to cancel Christmas for millions.

The Prime Minister has warned the new variant of coronavirus may be up to 70 per cent more transmissible than previous strains and could overwhelm the NHS.

But last night one scientist demanded greater transparency over the number that shut down swathes of the UK.

The future of work: How the pandemic’s ‘awakening’ will shape Canada’s labour force

Canada’s first robot barista kiosk emerged in Toronto’s upscale Yorkville neighbourhood in September. The Dark Horse Automat espresso bar offers specialty coffee on demand, delivered without any human contact to the caffeine-seeker.

This is one of countless innovative new ways of getting work done that were born out of the pandemic. The automat is an example of technology that can replace several shifts of work, perhaps even a barista position or two, though it requires servicing and regular maintenance. In fact, there are few facets of the way that we approach and perform our work that haven’t been impacted by the pandemic.

Birx travels, family visits highlight pandemic safety perils

As COVID-19 cases skyrocketed before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Dr. Deborah Birx, coordinator of the White House coronavirus response, warned Americans to “be vigilant” and limit celebrations to “your immediate household.”

For many Americans that guidance has been difficult to abide, including for Birx herself.

The day after Thanksgiving, she traveled to one of her vacation properties on Fenwick Island in Delaware. She was accompanied by three generations of her family from two households. Birx, her husband Paige Reffe, a daughter, son-in-law and two young grandchildren were present.

The shocking cruelty of cancelling Christmas

So Christmas is cancelled. The neo-Cromwellian edict has been issued. The thing that Boris Johnson said would be ‘inhuman’ just a few days ago has now been done. For the first time in centuries people in vast swathes of England – London and the South East – will be forbidden by law from celebrating Christmas together. The government’s promise of five days’ relief from the stifling, atomising, soul-destroying lockdown of everyday life has been snatched away from us. It’s too risky, the experts say; the disease will spread and cause great harm. You know what else will cause great harm? This cruel, disproportionate cancellation of Christmas; this decree against family festivities and human engagement.

But we have new traditions like “The Rat Out Your Neighbors Advent Calendar.”
