FBI Investigating ‘Concerted Effort’ by Out-of-State Protesters to Stop Building Police Training Center

Atlanta police arrested eight protesters on Tuesday after Molotov cocktails were thrown at officers escorting construction workers who are building a new police, fire, and EMS training facility.

Many of the protesters were from out of state. The FBI is also investigating the possibility that the protesters crossed state lines in order to commit felonies.

Yes, Policing Is Getting More Dangerous

The recent surge in attacks on cops reflects a broader increase in violence.

Recent headlines give the impression that it’s dangerous to be a cop right now. In just the past six months, we’ve seen a Baltimore police officer ambushed and shot dead in her cruiser, a Houston cop shot by a serial felon during a routine traffic stop, an NYPD officer slashed with a machete, and dozens more attacks on law enforcement officials.

FBI Head Says Skyrocketing Police Murder Rate ‘Doesn’t Get Enough Attention’

FBI head Christopher Wray said that the skyrocketing rate of police murders since 2020 deserves more attention in the press.

Wray sat for an interview with “60 Minutes” in an episode that aired on Sunday. During the interview, the FBI chief pointed to the 59% increase in the number of police officers murdered last year as one of the under-covered stories of the year.

A Cop’s-Eye View of Seattle’s Undoing

‘We were hated. We were literally hated overnight.’

This February, Bruce Harrell, newly installed as mayor of Seattle, made it official: His city is in decline. “The truth is the status quo is unacceptable,” Harrell said in his first state of the city address. “It seems like every day I hear stories of longtime small businesses closing their doors for good or leaving our city.”

But it’s not just small businesses.

Much of Seattle’s core looks like a pockmarked ghost town.

Leftists’ anti-police policies have led to a startling number of black, Latino crime victims

A Fox News story reports there was a staggering 43% increase in the murders of black Americans in 2020 compared to the past 10-year average.

The finding is shocking — but not surprising. After all, New York proved decades ago that reducing crime disproportionally benefited blacks and Latinos because they comprise most of crime’s victims. Fewer crimes mean fewer victims of all races, but the drop is most pronounced among nonwhites.

Black Americans bearing the brunt of murderous ‘Defund the Police’ movement: report

New analysis of FBI data revealed the devastating impact that defunding the police has had on black Americans who experienced a 32 percent spike in murder from 2019 to 2020 after the death of George Floyd “spurred an outpouring of contempt against the pillars of law and order.”

2020 was already fraught with challenges as Americans were faced with the unprecedented governmental response to the COVID pandemic. However, the death of Floyd in May is now being interpreted as the catalyst for the dramatic spike in violence that had been witnessed, at much lower levels, following similar publicized tragedies.

What is the thin blue line and why is it so hotly contested in Calgary

The thin blue line patch causing controversy among the Calgary Police Service and its oversight body has a long and complicated history, appearing in various iterations at different times of policing over the past century.

The image features a blue line across a background, often a black and white flag for the country it appears in. The Calgary police commission recently issued a directive for officers to no longer wear the symbol on their uniforms citing negative perceptions of it, particularly among marginalized communities. In response, the Calgary Police Association said its members would not oblige.

Michigan police release footage of white cop fatally shooting black man in the head during struggle over taser after traffic stop

Michigan police have released footage of a black man being shot in the back of the head by a white cop during a struggle over the officer’s Taser following a traffic stop, prompting calls for justice as the family’s high-profile attorney claimed ‘unnecessary, excessive used of force was used.’

Amid public outcry for transparency, police released the footage on Wednesday showing Patrick Lyoya, 26, facedown on the ground as he is fatally shot by the officer in Grand Rapids on April 4.

The newly released footage also shows the moments leading up to the shooting, including the traffic stop over suspicions involving Lyoya’s license plate, which led to a brief foot chase and struggle over the cop’s Taser.

Buffalo police cleared over pushing 75-year-old George Floyd protester

An arbitrator has ruled that two Buffalo police officers did not violate use-of-force guidelines when they pushed a 75-year-old protester to the ground in June 2020, during racial injustice protests following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

The episode drew national attention when a news crew captured video of Martin Gugino being shoved by officers Robert McCabe and Aaron Torgalski in downtown Buffalo, as crowd control officers in riot gear cleared demonstrators for an 8pm curfew.

The fall of Seattle

After George Floyd died, the city turned on the police

This February, Bruce Harrell, newly installed as mayor of Seattle, made it official that his city has gone into decline. “The truth is the status quo is unacceptable,” he said in his first state of the city address. “It seems like every day I hear stories of longtime small businesses closing their doors for good or leaving our city.” But it’s not just small businesses. In mid-March, Amazon announced that it was abandoning a 312,000-square-foot office space in downtown, citing concerns over crime.

Black, Indigenous Peoples likely to have little to no trust in police: Statistics Canada

It’s been over seven years since an Indigenous man from Regina was wrongfully arrested with excessive force.

On Dec. 10, 2014, Simon Moccasin experienced what he calls “racism within a system” after officers of the Regina Police Service (RPS) stopped him while he was walking near the casino.

The officers were searching for a robbery suspect and even though Moccasin said he did not match the description, he was arrested anyway.

Democrats Are Responsible for the War on Cops

They have pushed the idea that criminals are the victims.

Awar on cops is brewing across the country, and the Democrat Party is directly responsible for aiding and abetting it. They can deny it all they want, but they have blood on their hands.

Following George Floyd’s death in 2020, calls by Democrat politicians to defund or “reimagine” the police, in conjunction with soft-on-crime district attorneys, have led to a massive increase in homicides as well as an all-out assault on police officers.

Portland offered to rehire dozens of recently retired police officers, only 2 expressed interest

Watching the city of Portland gradually come to terms with reality has been a long, painful process. After jumping onboard the “defund the police” bandwagon and watching dozens of officers retire or resign, shootings and murders skyrocketed in the city. Suddenly, the mayor reversed course and started talking about refunding the police and putting back together the Gun Violence Reduction Team he had disbanded, albeit under a different name.
