‘It’s a different beast’: US fentanyl deaths will rise, warns Narcan developer

Deaths from fentanyl will continue to rise and overdoses may be increasingly difficult to battle in the US, said Roger Crystal, who helped develop Narcan nasal spray, an easy-to-use medication that reverses overdoses.

The overdose crisis that killed more than 100,000 Americans in one year is “all about fentanyl”, Crystal said – and it’s only going to get worse.

Those who are overdosing from fentanyl have a shorter window of time to be saved and may need additional doses of the medication.

Vancouver city council voted Thursday to back a push for “compassion clubs” to supply safer drugs to drug users in the city.

Merck’s New Drug – A Wonder Or Incipient Slaughter?

Molnupiravir, a drug Merck thinks “may be the answer to Covid-19”, is now all the rage. The company will be asking for authorization to use it, presumably in an EUA since there are “no other treatments for ambulatory (non-hospital) persons.”

That’s bull****, of course, but bull**** is the norm; just ignore the elephants in the room — all of them — for which we have a crap-ton of safety data spanning decades.

This is a “new molecule.” I looked at it. Those who are calling it Merckmectin or Phizermectin (that is, an “on-patent” reformulation of an extremely safe and widely-distributed drug) are making a serious error, and that error may kill you.

Major US Cities Becoming Fentanyl-Infested Cesspools As Millions Plunge Into Hopelessness & Despair

If you live near a major U.S. city, you don’t have to go to a movie theater to see a horror show.  Instead, just find out where fentanyl-laced heroin is being sold and go hang out with the drug addicts for a few hours.  If you survive the encounter, it will be an experience that you will never forget.  In city after city, hopelessly addicted men and women wander the streets of our core urban areas like zombies.  Unfortunately, many of them won’t last very long because it is exceptionally easy to die from a fentanyl overdose.  As you will see below, drug overdose deaths in the U.S. were up 30 percent last year, and fentanyl was the main reason.

And where does the fentanyl come from?

Chinese Mafia biggest Importer of Methamphetamine to British Columbia

Asian organized crime has never been this prevalent on an international scale. Like in the historical West, crime revolved around gangs and thugs. But globalization, economical and political changes in the mid-20th century in China and Asia-Pacific created conditions for a new form of organized crime: transnational organized crime.

Transnational organized crime is characterized by cross-border activities. Stiff bureaucracy, tunnel-visioning on economic growth and the flexibility of transnational crime syndicates, has made it insanely hard to combat organized crime.
