Biden turns to country with documented child labor issues for green energy mineral supplies

Leader of the Free World

The Biden administration opened the door to financing mining projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Zambia to bolster the global green energy supply chain as it pushes ahead with its climate agenda, despite the DRC’s documented issues with child laborers being used in such mines.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken entered into the agreement Tuesday, signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the two nations and lauding their work improving the electric vehicle battery supply chain. During a signing ceremony, Blinken said the “future” was happening, given the importance of cobalt for manufacturing electric vehicles.

Renewables won’t keep us warm this winter

The cold snap is exposing the limits of wind and solar – and the insanity of the green agenda.

There are already many German loan words in the English language, but the latest addition should surely be the term ‘Dunkelflaute’. It describes a period of time in which virtually no energy can be generated using wind and solar power. It is a word that captures the grave problem that both Britain and Germany are facing today – namely, that you cannot run a modern economy on renewable energy. Especially during a windless and dark winter.

Terry Glavin: Trudeau and other environmental ‘colonialists’ set their sights on the Third World

It’s a harsh judgment, but it’s not without evidence that several human rights organizations have described the overarching objective championed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and several mainline environmental organizations leading the agenda at the COP15 summit in Montreal as racist and profoundly unscientific.

3rd World Thugs walk out of Montreal biodiversity conference after shakedown fails

MONTREAL – Developing countries have walked out of global talks in Montreal on conserving the world’s biodiversity over concerns about funding.

David Ainsworth, an information officer for the COP15 talks, says the countries left the negotiations early this morning.

He says the main one concerns the creation of a special fund to finance biodiversity conservation in poorer nations.

Jordan Peterson and Bjorn Lomborg: Hunger is more pressing than climate change, elites have it backwards

We traditionally reflect during the end-of-year holidays on the consequences of our past behavior, as well as contemplating the good we might want to achieve in the twelve months ahead. When we set resolutions, for example, we are striving to determine how we can do better in our own lives. Perhaps we could also take the occasion to consider how we might achieve such improvement on a larger scale.

Junk science lingers: one warm day cited as reason for an imminent climate catastrophe

The revelations from Twitter might be shocking, but it’s not much different from what the media has been doing for decades — picking and choosing what information to share in an effort to create a desired (leftist) narrative.

Just last week, The Washington Post used one warm day as evidence that mankind’s use of natural resources are causing Alaska to rapidly warm

‘This truck can’t do normal truck things’: YouTube star says towing with Ford’s new electric pickup is a ‘total disaster’ in viral video

It’s no secret that electric cars are becoming more and more popular these days. But will the EV trend carry over to pickup trucks?

According to Tyler Hoover — who runs the Hoovie’s Garage YouTube channel with 1.45 million subscribers — an electric pickup truck might not be a great option if you need to tow something.

In a viral YouTube video, Hoover tried to tow an old 1930s Ford pickup with his brand new Ford F-150 Lightning. The test didn’t go well, as the new electric truck used up way more range than expected.

Translated CBC – Be of good cheer Comrade! In the coming “Electric Soviet” you and your neighbor will be equally deprived of a personal EV!

Rush to electric vehicles may be an expensive mistake, say climate strategists

… For people with money and a conscience, EVs are doubly satisfying. They allow the affluent to indulge in the time-honoured pleasures of conspicuous consumption while at the same time saving the planet.

But for those who have looked more deeply at how the world can escape its dependence on oil and gas, the rush to replace existing gas guzzlers with a new fleet of clean, silent battery-powered personal transport leaves them uneasy.

… “EVs are here to save the car industry, not the planet, that is crystal clear,” said outspoken urban planning advocate Jason Slaughter in a recent email conversation. “Electric cars use batteries instead of gasoline, but they are still a horrendously inefficient way to move people around, especially in crowded cities.”

Once in awhile the mask slips proving that EV’s are the carrot and stick of the green-scam used to con a profoundly mislead public.

The rich will have EV’s but you and I won’t.

But cheer up Comrade! In the glorious “Electric Soviet” you will be offered the chance to stand in the rain and the cold waiting for what most certainly will be an overcrowded smelly “electric bus.”

Electric vehicles run on subsidies

Electric vehicles don’t run on electricity so much as they run on government subsidies.

In Canada, this includes federal and provincial subsidies for consumers to buy electric vehicles and federal and provincial subsidies to EV manufacturers to build assembly and EV battery plants here.

Fearless prediction – EV ownership will be restricted to a select few as Canada will lack the power infrastructure necessary to cope with their mass usage. You will be offered a chance to wait in the cold for an electric bus in exchange for your ICE vehicle.

Trudeau government preparing to rain your cash on corporate cronies by subsidizing EV battery production in Canada

Ottawa preparing to go toe-to-toe with U.S. to subsidize EV battery production in Canada

The federal government is preparing to transform its industrial policy in a bid to shelter Canadian production of electric vehicle batteries from the threat posed by the United States’ offer of billions of dollars in new subsidies, sources say.

For the first time, Ottawa is set to subsidize the production costs of large electric vehicle battery producers. It hopes to convince them to set up their plants in Canada, or to maintain their presence here.

The new measures would be a game-changer for Canada’s industrial policy. For decades, government programs have been based on funding “non-recurring” capital expenditures, such as the construction or modernization of factories.

GOLDSTEIN: The last straw — Canada’s single use plastics ban means more garbage

The Trudeau government’s plan to eliminate plastic waste in Canada by 2030 is underway in earnest with the gradual elimination of single use plastics.

As of Dec. 20, the manufacture and import for sale in Canada of plastic checkout bags, cutlery, takeout containers, stir sticks and most plastic straws (with some exemptions for flexible ones) will be prohibited. The sale of these items in Canada will end a year later.

France bans domestic flights in adherence to agenda of global communism

The writing was on the wall as soon as the “experts” declared “two weeks to flatten the curve.” Some of us saw right through the scheme, while the less-astute did not. We recognized the move was one against freedom and prosperity rather than for our welfare, and knew it was not only for two weeks. We knew that if the ruling class was allowed to follow through with their “lockdown” agenda — the forced closure of private businesses, dictating who was “essential” and who was “non-essential” — then greater tyranny would follow.

However, “told ya so” is bittersweet.
