Europe’s ambitious net-zero pledges hit home—with eye-watering energy bills

Running out of gas as the cost of energy hits record highs, Europe is facing a “power crunch”—one that has been years in the making. As the global demand for gas soars, Europe’s uptake of intermittent renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, combined with its aggressive shutdown of coal and heavy EU carbon taxation, has caused its electricity supply to tighten.

The continent’s gas crunch is causing extreme volatility, with the U.K. on Thursday seeing its electricity price jump 10-fold during one seven-hour period, to a record high of £2,300 ($3,180) per megawatt-hour (MWh), as Ireland, which regularly exports wind energy to the U.K., itself faced supply shortages.

Greta’s Chumps – Climate zeal decides an election in Norway.

Greta Thunberg Climate Hysteria Puppet

The main thing you need to know about the results of last week’s Norwegian elections is that the international media and political elites were absolutely thrilled – just like when Joe Biden won. “America is back!” they cheered in the world’s corridors of power last November. Similar sentiments greeted the news that Norway’s left-wing parties had secured a majority of parliamentary seats, ousting the conservatives.

Kerry: ‘We can’t get where we need to go’ in climate fight if China isn’t joining in

John Kerry, the special presidential envoy for climate, said the world “can’t get where we need to go” in its climate fight if China does not join the effort.

Kerry, during an interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Wednesday, pointed to China’s high percentage of emissions as a reason why their cooperation is needed to become net-zero by 2050.

Terence Corcoran: From vaccine passports to personal carbon passports: Get ready for CLIMATE-21 fossil fuel virus lockdowns

Somewhere deep in the cranium of the climate intelligentsia a seed was planted to produce the florid idea that the global COVID-19 virus could serve as inspiration for humankind to once and for all tackle the looming climate crisis. Mark Carney, the global master of modern corporatism’s climate crusade, dedicates a whole chapter of his book Value(s) to the COVID/climate nexus. “If we come together to meet the biggest challenges in medical biology, so too can we come together to meet the challenges of climate physics and the forces driving inequality.”

Does China Really Believe in ‘Climate Change’?

China told Biden climate czar John Kerry that it would march to its own drummer on the issue of global warming. The South China Morning Post wrote that “Beijing has rebuffed American calls to make more public pledges on climate change before a UN climate summit in November, insisting it should follow its own plan rather than bowing to US pressure, according to a person familiar with the two countries’ negotiations.”

U.S. climate nag Kerry given the brush off by Chi-Coms

U.S. climate envoy Kerry tells Chinese leaders: climate not about politics

This is what a permanent political class looks like.

SHANGHAI, Sept 2 (Reuters) – U.S. special climate envoy John Kerry said he had urged Chinese leaders to reach for the “highest ambition” in order to curb temperature rises, saying the climate crisis was not about politics.

Senior Chinese diplomats told Kerry during his visit to China that the issue of climate change could not be separated from the broader political disputes between the two sides.

IPCC relies on foregone conclusions to push climate narrative

The first report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on the science of climate change was released in 1990. The most recent one, the 6th Assessment Report (“AR6”), released two weeks ago, thus marks more than 30 years of operations. I’ve been an expert reviewer for both the physical science and social science working groups since the Fourth Assessment Report (AR4), which first went out for review in August 2005. I’ve criticized the IPCC in the past for being obtuse when it comes to reporting findings that go against its preferred narrative. I can illustrate the long-standing nature of this problem by explaining the history of a single sentence in the AR6.

Eco-hypocrisy is out of control

The eco-obsessed elite regularly embarrasses itself. In the past couple of weeks, we have been served up three separate helpings of green hypocrisy from celebrities and politicians.

We all know what Prince Harry thinks about the environment. He is a prominent campaigner for so-called climate justice. According to him, climate change is one of the ‘most pressing issues we are facing’.

Challenging UN, Study Finds Sun—not CO2—May Be Behind Global Warming

The sun and not human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) may be the main cause of warmer temperatures in recent decades, according to a new study with findings that sharply contradict the conclusions of the United Nations (UN) Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The peer-reviewed paper, produced by a team of almost two dozen scientists from around the world, concluded that previous studies did not adequately consider the role of solar energy in explaining increased temperatures.
