OPP announce largest gun bust in Turtle Island history

Ontario Provincial Police say a joint investigation with authorities in the United States has led to the largest bust of handguns and assault-style rifles in the province’s history.

According to police, 274 illegal firearms were seized as part of Project Saxom, an OPP-led investigation in Ontario, and Dual Approach, a U.S.-led probe by Homeland Security Investigation’s (HSI) Buffalo field office.

The press conference begins with a ludicrous land acknowledgement.

I Prefer a Tragedy Over a Statistic

In the wake of more gun control efforts and heated rhetoric from those who would tell you that you will be safer if you give government a monopoly on lethal force, I would like to remind anyone with ears and eyes unblinded by the emasculated compassion and empathy religion that passes for progressivism of three simple facts:

  1. The human race is filled with violent, ignorant, insane and avaricious people.
  2. It happens every day, even here in progressive USA, that innocent lives are threatened and sometimes taken by those kinds of people.
  3. People who are armed, trained and ready to defend themselves and their loved ones are the most likely to survive.

Football, ice hockey … shooting? Finland hopes hobby will boost national defence

Finland plans to open more than 300 new shooting ranges to encourage more citizens to take up the hobby in the interest of national defence.

It is hoped that shooting in the Nordic country – which last year became Nato’s newest member and which shares a 830-mile (1,330km) border with Russia – could become as popular as football or ice hockey.

There are about 670 shooting ranges in Finland, down from about 2,000 at the turn of the century. By 2030, the government plans to increase the number to about 1,000.

Murders Rarely Committed by Legal Firearm Owners: Statistics Canada

While the rate of homicides involving a firearm has increased in Canada, those crimes are not usually committed by people who have a licence for the weapon, according to a Statistics Canada report.

“The firearms used in homicides were rarely legal firearms used by their legal owners who were in good standing,” said the report, titled Firearms and Violent Crime in Canada 2022.

Could ‘smart gun’ tech have stopped the Danforth Islamist terror attack? Smith & Wesson denies liability in $150 million Toronto lawsuit

Could ‘smart gun’ tech have stopped the Danforth mass shooting? Smith & Wesson denies liability in $150 million Toronto lawsuit

In 2000, U.S. gunmaker Smith & Wesson acknowledged the risks posed by lost and stolen guns and entered an agreement with the U.S. government to implement “safety and design” changes to its civilian handgun products — including mechanisms that could deter unauthorized use.

That never happened, and 18 years later, a man in Toronto armed with a stolen Smith & Wesson M&P40 handgun randomly shot two young people and injured 13 others in a mass shooting on Danforth Avenue.

This was a Muslim terror attack.

Georgia Credit Union Bars Customers From Purchasing Guns With Their Own Money

Georgia United Credit Union recently updated their User Agreement — you know, that wall of text that your financial institution flashes at you from time to time and which few people bother to read. The catch: If you rely on Georgia United Credit Union for your purchasing tool, like, say, a debit card, you may no longer use that to purchase firearms, ammunition, firearms parts, or accessories, along with a host of other items.

In these chaotic times, a brief AR-15 primer

The Seventh Circuit has recently ruled AR-15 pattern rifles are not protected by the Second Amendment. The lawless ruling ignores the Heller and Bruen decisions.

Leading the list of long guns sold, the ubiquitous AR-15 is the most popular sporting rifle in America. Circa 2023, Americans own more than 23 million. The AR-15 is also the rifle type democrats/Socialists/Communists are most desperate to ban, that and so-called “high capacity magazines,” which have been standard capacity magazines since the Vietnam War.

Liberal gun bill passes Senate, but experts say it won’t stop gun crime

OTTAWA — The Trudeau Liberals’ contentious gun control legislation will do little to stop gun crime while ensuring the end of sport shooting in Canada, advocates say.

Bill C-21 is poised to become law after passing third reading in the Senate with an easy 60 to 24 majority Thursday evening. The legislation would freeze the sale or transfer of handguns, add a definition of what constitutes a prohibited so-called “assault rifle” to the criminal code, and introduce “yellow flag” and “red flag” laws that would allow anyone to apply for emergency prohibition orders against somebody they feel poses a danger.

Firearms Groups Appeal Dismissal of Lawsuit Against Gun Ban

Canadian gun rights advocates have submitted an appeal to the Federal Court’s decision in which it dismissed multiple lawsuits against the Liberal government’s May 2020 ban on more than 1,500 firearms.

The appeal was filed on Nov. 29 by the Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights (CCFR) along with several firearms dealers and gun owners after Justice Catherine Kane ruled on Oct. 30 that the government had not exceeded its authority granted by Parliament by bringing forth the ban.
