Federal Firearms Buy-Back Program Estimated Cost Report

On May 1 2020 the Canadian Liberal Government announced an Order In Council (OIC) firearms prohibition. As part of this order the Government implemented an amnesty period (ending April 30 2022) to allow legal firearms owners the time necessary to become compliant with the new law. They also announced that they would introduce a buy-back program for the legal firearms owners affected by the OIC.

Since the mention of the buy-back program, there have been many questions around how much this federal buy-back would cost Canadians. Well, as of June 29 2021, the Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) has finally released their report on what they estimate the cost of this program to be. Spoiler alert, it’s not cheap. They’re estimating a cost that ranges between $47 million to $756 million.

San Jose is first U.S. city to require gun owners to compensate taxpayers for gun violence

In a unanimous vote Tuesday night that is certain to be challenged by advocates for gun rights, the San Jose City Council passed ordinances to require every gun owner to buy liability insurance coverage for their firearms. Budget officer says Liberals’ gun buyback could cost up to $756 million

OTTAWA — The parliamentary budget officer says it could cost the government $756 million to buy back guns now prohibited in the country, depending on how many there are in Canada and how the Liberals structure the program.

The high-end buyback figure is the budget officer’s estimate for how much it would cost for the government to buy back every gun that the industry estimates is owned across Canada.

Biden Gun Control Proposal Would Ban AR-15s, Increase Background Checks

Biden detailed a gun control proposal that that would outlaw “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines as Democrats continue to endorse the “Defund the Police” movement.

“Talk to most responsible gun owners they’ll tell you there’s no possible justification for having 100 rounds in a magazine,” said Biden during remarks on Wednesday, reiterating his opposition to high-capacity magazines.

In response to critics who say this is a violation of Americans’ Second Amendment rights, Biden responded, “We’re not changing the Constitution. We’re enforcing hit,” he stated, shortly after meeting with law enforcement officials.

  1. Does anyone dare ask Biden about his son falsifying a gun application?
  2. 2A is a limitation on the government power, not on gun owners.

Gun rights and medical marijuana activists join forces in Minnesota

Gun rights and medical marijuana legal reform advocates are seeking to join forces in Minnesota, where they hope to petition the federal government to drop its severe classification of marijuana.

The coalition of strange political bedfellows has emerged because medical marijuana users are barred from holding firearms permits, as the federal government designates marijuana a schedule I illegal drug – on a par with heroin, LSD and ecstasy – unsafe and without medicinal benefit.

Perpetrators with unmedicated, untreated brain illnesses behind majority of US mass shootings – study

A large majority of assailants behind mass shootings in the US have had untreated psychiatric disorders, primarily schizophrenia. Treating such patients in time could decrease the risk of violence, a new study suggests.

The major psychiatric analysis by researchers from the Stanford University School of Medicine studied US mass shootings spanning decades. Having identified 115 persons behind such crimes committed between 1982 and 2019, based on “the most comprehensive listing available,” the Mother Jones database, they mainly concentrated on the study of surviving assailants.

It also declares federal laws that infringe on that right null.

The Largest Gun Registration and Confiscation Scheme Is Being Planned By the Biden Administration

We know Joe Biden wants to confiscate guns. He’s open about it. He wants a ban on so-called assault weapons but also high-capacity magazines, an equally moronic term. His vice president, who is getting kicked in the teeth over the border crisis in what’s turning out to be a disastrous visit to Guatemala, also said that she would issue an executive order to ban these firearms. That’s not legal, but when has that ever-stopped Democrats from waging their war on the Second Amendment. The magazine limits don’t just apply to rifles, but also handguns, meaning the millions would become felons under the Democrats’ gun confiscation scheme. We all know the endgame, but they don’t have the legislative majorities to do so. Biden is then taking to tweaking current regulations through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. It’s through this avenue that his scheme to turn millions into felons is being planned as we speak. It’s significant for sure, with many in the industry calling it the largest gun registration and confiscation scheme in American history.
