Jesse Kline: How terrorists took over academia

The bodies of Israeli civilians who were slaughtered by Hamas were still warm when celebrations broke out on the streets of Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa on October 7. Almost immediately, National Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), an umbrella group that co-ordinates its chapters at universities throughout North America, sprung into action, issuing a toolkit that parroted Hamas propaganda and featured images of Palestinians standing atop an Israeli tank next to the Gazan border and an illustration of a hang glider, which the terrorists were using to invade Israel.

This has always begged the question: did these groups have foreknowledge that a terror attack was imminent? Over eight months later, we’re starting to understand who has been organizing and funding the anti-Israel campaigns on university campuses. The picture being painted is not of a grassroots, student-led movement to support the Palestinian cause, but of an intentional, co-ordinated effort to build support for Iran’s global terror network among western youth and those responsible for educating future generations.

An Open Letter: They turned into monsters on October 7th

They turned into monsters

In most narratives about the war in Gaza, the war does not begin where it began. The war did not start in Gaza. The war began on October 7 – exactly 50 years after Egypt and Syria invaded Israel. Palestinian Hamas terrorists committed an unimaginable massacre in Israel.

They filmed themselves as heroes and celebrated their bloodbath. Their victory celebrations continued back home in Gaza, where the terrorists dragged severely abused hostages and presented them as spoils of war to the jubilant Palestinian population. This macabre jubilation extended all the way to Berlin. In the Neukölln district there was dancing on the streets and the Palestinian organization Samidoun distributed sweets. The internet was buzzing with happy comments.

As Hezbollah steps up attacks, world waits to see if war is truly on the table

Hezbollah claimed to have carried out six attacks on Israel on Friday. Saturday was relatively quiet in the morning, but Friday saw 21 incidents where sirens sounded in northern Israel. It was not clear if the number of claimed attacks matched what happened in the north.

Hezbollah has launched more than 5,000 attacks on Israel since October 7. Hezbollah has often suggested that if there was a ceasefire in Gaza, then it would stop its attacks on the north.

Liberal MP Housefather’s appointment to role fighting antisemitism delayed by concerns about caucus divisions

A proposal to appoint Liberal MP Anthony Housefather to a new role fighting antisemitism — which has been in the works for weeks — has been held up by concerns about divisions in the government caucus over the Israel-Hamas war, CBC News has learned.

And sources who spoke to CBC News — including one caucus member — are asking how Housefather’s role would differ from the work of Deborah Lyons, the special envoy on preserving Holocaust remembrance and combating antisemitism.

The government has been accused by Jewish groups of not being supportive enough of Israel, though it has seen its support erode among both Jews and Muslims.

Mike Fegelman: The evidence is clear — there is no famine in Gaza

For months, the Hamas terrorist group and pro-Palestinian activists around the world have been claiming that the Gaza Strip is facing an imminent famine and accusing Israel of deliberately starving Palestinians. Yet this scenario never materialized.

Those claims were rarely questioned, and instead were uncritically repeated by far too many pliable news media outlets in Canada and beyond, which jettisoned their journalistic integrity in favour of an easy narrative.

Only 50 hostages remain alive in Gaza, US intelligence officials believe

The number of Israeli hostages alive in captivity in Gaza may be as low as 50, according to leaks from mediators involved in the negotiations for a ceasefire deal.

It is the lowest assessment to date of the 120 people still imprisoned by the Hamas terrorist group, and comes as talks to end the war in Gaza have largely stalled amid growing anger at the Israeli government.

All eyes should be on Al Jazeera for being founded, funded — and directed — by terrorists

All eyes should be on Al Jazeera for being founded, funded — and directed — by terrorists

Considering how much attention the American media get, it’s amazing that one piece of actual, unbelievable subversion keeps going on.

That is the Al Jazeera network — founded, funded and directed by the terrorist-supporting state of Qatar.

Last month, The Washington Post reported darkly that the Israeli government had shut down the Al Jazeera network’s operations in Israel because of its coverage from Gaza.

WaPo portrayed this as a “dark day” for press freedom.

Huge majority of York parents fear for Jewish children’s safety in school, survey finds

Since the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, parents across Canada have complained that schools have become hostile environments to Jewish students. Now, a survey of dozens of Ontario schools suggests that huge majorities of parents worry about the safety and social isolation of Jewish students.

The informal survey, carried out between May 12 and May 15, comes at a time when school boards, parents and community members are concerned about alleged acts of antisemitism and other forms of discrimination in schools, both on the part of other students and teachers and staff.

What Does the Student Intifada Want?

A recent conference in Detroit revealed its radical aims.

With few exceptions, college and university presidents were slow and ineffective in responding to the protests and encampments on their campuses this spring. Their passivity calls to mind the character Gottlieb Biedermann in Max Frisch’s play The Fire Raisers, who, hearing about a series of local arsons, refuses to believe that the men who manipulated their way into occupying his attic could be the perpetrators. Deceived by feelings of guilt, Biedermann is unwilling to throw the men out or believe that they are dangerous—even when they tell him exactly what they are doing. Remaining in denial to the end, he hands them the very matches they use to incinerate his home.

Toronto school board votes to include ‘anti-Palestinian racism’ in discrimination strategy

Toronto District School Board trustees voted Wednesday to include “anti-Palestinian racism” in their broader strategy to combat discrimination within Canada’s largest public school district.

The vote was carried by a 15-to-7 margin and went ahead despite objections from hundreds of Jewish parents and community members, including Larry Maher, a parent of TDSB students, who said the “adoption of anti-Palestinian racism is going to enable those to weaponize against anyone that practices Judaism and or supports Israel. Regardless of ethnicity or religion.”

Israel and Hezbollah play with fire but neither wants another war

It’s a peculiar political twist that hostilities rose between Israel and Hezbollah this week, even as the missiles ebbed.

The recent intense exchange of fire replaced, during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, with a fiery volley of threats, the familiar drum beat of deterrence spotlighting the path to war.

The Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, on Wednesday threatened to invade northern Israel if a full-scale war with Israel broke out.

Jihadists Brutalize Non-Muslim Women, Feminists in West Remain Silent

Hamas terrorists, backed by Iran, invaded Israel on October 7, 2023. They massacred more than 1,200 people; burned families alive, tortured and raped women, children and men, and abducted roughly 250 hostages, including babies and children.

Since the October attack, however, Israeli women have faced public doubts and questions about the brutality and sexual violence they experienced at the hands of Gaza’s Muslim men.

Despite the silence, and sometimes even outright denial, by many women’s organizations around the world, Hamas’ sexual crimes are well-documented. The Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel published a report in February entitled “Silent Cry – Sexual Crimes in the October 7 War”.
