There’s more work to do to combat antisemitism on campuses, university presidents say

Four university presidents conceded to members of Parliament today that antisemitism is a problem on their campuses.

MPs questioned the presidents of the University of Toronto, McGill University, Concordia University and the University of British Columbia about their codes of conduct, responses to pro-

Palestinian encampments and efforts to include Jewish students in equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

U of T encampment to go on at least one more day.

Protesters were joined by unions during a rainy rally Monday morning as the University of Toronto announced that it would seek an injunction to remove the camp in the centre of campus after a deadline to accept an offer to set up a committee to consider the issue of divestment from Israel passed Friday at 4 p.m.

Students were then given until 8 a.m. Monday to vacate or suffer academic and legal consequences. This deadline also passed without protesters budging.

Netanyahu acknowledges ‘tragic mistake’ after Rafah strike kills dozens of Palestinians

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged Monday that a “tragic mistake” had been made after an Israeli strike in the southern Gaza city of Rafah set fire to a tent camp housing displaced Palestinians and, according to local officials, killed at least 45 people.

The mistake only added to the surging international criticism Israel has faced over its war with Hamas, with even its closest allies expressing outrage at civilian deaths. Israel insists it adheres to international law even as it faces scrutiny in the world’s top courts, one of which last week demanded that it halt the offensive in Rafah.

Canada pledges visas for 5,000 Gaza residents related to Canadians

Canada said on Monday it would grant temporary visas to 5,000 Gaza residents under a special program for Canadians’ relatives living in the war-torn enclave, a preparatory move in case they are able to leave in the future.

That figure is an increase from the 1,000 temporary resident visas allotted under a special program for Gaza announced in December, the immigration ministry said in a statement, adding that many people had expressed interest.

Less than one fifth of Canadians support anti-Israel protest encampments at universities

For more than a month, anti-Israel protesters have established themselves on university campuses across Canada, but less than one-fifth of Canadians support them, according to a new national poll.

The poll, conducted by Leger for the Association for Canadian Studies, shows that these protesters have the support of just 19 per cent of Canadians, although 21 per cent of people in metro Toronto and 25 per cent in greater Vancouver support the protesters’ aims. The support is dwarfed, however, by the 48 per cent of Canadians who oppose the encampments (including 45 per cent in Toronto and 34 per cent in greater Vancouver). Montrealers, at 49 per cent, are the most vehemently opposed.

I suspect this poll is off and support runs deeper than expected. People will often tell a pollster what they think they want to hear.

“Allahu Akbar” was a campaign slogan in UK local elections

Islamic candidates won in British local elections because they are the majority. And the UK is not alone in that.

Political Islam candidates have won local elections in England in large numbers, simply because they had a majority. These are the consequences of uncontrolled Muslim immigration.

Dark times lie ahead, not just for Great Britain. And this, more than the low numbers of the flaccid Tories who deserved a sound defeat in the general elections, is the most incredible fact.

A Green Party candidate, Mothin Ali, shouted “Allahu Akbar!” after being elected to Leeds City Council, while his supporters waved the Palestinian flag and a silly Green politician clapped her hands.

Some Muslims ‘want to challenge British values’, says minister

A Foreign Office minister has claimed some Muslims in Britain “want to challenge” fundamental UK values.

Anne-Marie Trevelyan was responding to widely criticised comments made by Nigel Farage, the honorary president of Reform UK, who said on Sunday there was a growing proportion of people in the UK who “loathe much of what we stand for”.

Farage explicitly identified Muslims when challenged on the remarks, claiming polls showed 46% of British Muslims supported the terror organisation Hamas.

Islam is a 5th column. By inviting Islamists to settle in Canada our elites have done the equivalent of inviting a Nazi army to move in during WW II.

We’ve only been screaming this for the last 20 years or so.

‘UK did not bomb Belfast to get IRA’, says prosecutor seeking Netanyahu arrest

Britain did not bomb the streets of Ireland to take out the leaders of the IRA, Karim Khan has said as he justifies seeking an arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor said it was not his job to make friends but to put the victims of injustice and war first, regardless of the geopolitical consequences.

Speaking to The Times, he said the court had to “do our job whether we are applauded or condemned.”

The Time to Call Anti-Semitism Terrorism Is Well Past Due

Well, this should come as no surprise to anyone. Unidentified gunmen fired shots from a dark-coloured vehicle at the Bais Chaya Mushka, a school for Jewish girls in the Greater Toronto Area, in the early hours of May 25.  These “heroes” fled immediately afterward and thankfully no one was injured.

The ever-helpful CBC won’t mention the “T” word as a possible motive (Toronto police are not ruling out terrorism at this stage but stress the investigation is ongoing and involves both the guns and gangs task force as well as the hate crime unit). For its part, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs calls it a “clear, calculated and premeditated targeting of a Jewish school for girls,” adding, “the fact a school was targeted regardless of whether kids were present or not represents another worrying escalation in the violence Jewish Canadians have been experiencing.”

We live in a nation where over 100 Christian churches have been burned down or vandalized and virtually nothing has been done about it because hating Christians in Canada, especially if they’re white has been made acceptable by our government, media and academics.

No to the politization of “Antisemitism” as terrorism.

We have laws on the books covering hate crimes. Make the powers that be enforce them.

‘The IRGC are on British soil,’ says woman beaten during London protest

A woman beaten by supporters of Iran’s government during a peaceful protest in London has warned that the “IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] are on British soil”.

Ellie Borham, 43, said she was minutes into a five-person protest in London when a group of pro-Iran supporters surrounded and beat her.

“We were standing peacefully, and then the men came. They surrounded us. They threatened us,” she told The Telegraph. “They slapped and punched my face, my body, my legs. One of the men said:

‘We are going to kill you’.”

Surprise, alarm from U of T faculty as school warns of termination for those who don’t leave pro-Palestinian encampment before deadline

The University of Toronto Faculty Association reacted with surprise and alarm to a school warning that professors and staff who refuse to leave a pro-Palestinian encampment on campus before a Monday morning deadline could face disciplinary measures, including termination.

The warning was contained in a trespass notice the university sent Friday to the protesters at the encampment on King’s College Circle, one of dozens of pro-Palestinian protests on campuses across North America that have been calling for universities to divest from companies connected to the Israeli military.

Jesse Kline: The wrath of Khan, and the failure of Trudeau

JERUSALEM — Israelis are more divided than ever before, but are united against the idea of their highly unpopular prime minister standing trial over his prosecution of the war in Gaza.

On Monday, International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Karim Khan announced that he’s seeking arrest warrants, not only for three Hamas leaders who orchestrated the barbaric October 7 massacre — in which 3,000 terrorists flooded across the border with Gaza, raping, torturing and slaughtering 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking around 250 hostage — but also for the two men charged with ensuring such atrocities never happen again: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.

Massive Gaza rocket assault targets Tel Aviv, central Israel

A massive barrage of rockets targeted Tel Aviv and central Israel for the first time in months. The rockets were fired from Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
