TDSB investigating incident of alleged antisemitism at North York school following community rally

The Toronto District School Board is investigating an incident that sparked a community rally outside a North York school Friday morning in support of a Jewish student.

In a letter sent home to parents Friday afternoon, Principal Katia Robles said the rally “was related to serious allegations involving students.” She said it was reported to administrators that “a small group of students were throwing stones, among other items, at each other at various times during the day” on Thursday. The letter does not specify further details about what happened or why.

Rally attendees, however, say that the student they showed up to support was targeted because he is Jewish and the victim of antisemitism and bullying.

Ditto for Canada

Admitting Gazan refugees would be proof that Britain has a death wish

It was only a matter of time before the call came. Now Labour MPs, including Sam Tarry and Jess Phillips, are agitating for Britain to take in Palestinians fleeing Gaza.

Tarry, the MP for Ilford South, suggested that the Gazan people are “a highly skilled … and well-educated workforce” who could benefit the UK, while Phillips said “all of the Gazans that we resettled into Birmingham Yardley were actually doctors, and are bringing huge amounts of resources”. If that is the case, then surely Palestinians who can get out of Gaza can apply for skilled worker visas like any other immigrant trying to get into the UK?

The Myth of Student Protest

Student radicals turning out in droves to protest for Palestine seem to expect that their organized mass demonstrations will foment revolutionary change. They are inspired by the example of the 1960s, and the civil rights marchers and Vietnam War protesters are their muses. These were the heroes who put their bodies on the line facing fire hoses and club-wielding cops to bend the arc of history toward good.

At least that’s the myth they’ve been taught, sometimes by aged protesters themselves, or by student activists who morphed into professors and never left campus for the real world.

US Administration Abandons Israel, Empowers Enemies

In an unprecedented move in US governance, the Biden administration has embarked on a policy that departs from its longstanding support for Israel.

Instead, there is a discernible tilt towards policies that favor the adversaries of the United States, notably Iran and its proxies such as Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as China and Russia. This strategic realignment marks a significant shift in US foreign policy and has generated a substantial risk both domestically and internationally.

Israel recovers bodies of three hostages, including Shani Louk

Israel has recovered the bodies of three hostages who were killed at the Nova music festival, including Shani Louk.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that Hamas had taken the remains of the German-Israeli woman, as well as those of Amit Buskila and Itzhak Gelerenter, back into Gaza on Oct 7.

The bodies of the three were found by the IDF in Jabalia in northern Gaza, the army said.

Carson Jerema: The Freedom Convoy was bad. The Hamas camps are much worse

With apologies to the Headstones, in Canada everything is legal, even if you get caught. Especially trespassing if you have the right politics.

Three years ago, Freedom Convoy protesters entrenched themselves in downtown Ottawa, illegally blockading roads and disrupting the lives of thousands. The protest went on for three weeks in large part due to enormous policing failures that stemmed from sheer incompetence.

How Hamas became radical chic

Palestinians are painted as the new proletariat

Any thinking Jew today hears the alarm resounding like a shofar blast in days of old, announcing rising floodwaters or marauding Cossacks. Confronted with a worldwide, increasingly violent explosion of antisemitism, the mind turns to dark mysteries. Why have radical groups of all stripes, including all the usual suspects, coalesced in support of a suicidal death cult that raped, tortured, and murdered 1,200 Israelis and has publicly pledged to eliminate the Jewish state?

A Landmark on the Road to Decline

The normalization of antisemitic terror we have witnessed among protestors since the October 7 attacks on Israel is a portentous landmark on the West’s road to civilizational degeneration. Every dimension of our socio-political order––all three branches of the federal government, and many blue-state governments; popular entertainment and high-brow culture; mainline churches; corporate boards and C-suites; national security and defense agencies, and education from K-12 to universities–– has been corrupted by illiberal, if not antihuman ideologies that undercut the foundations both of our political freedom and equality, and the morality and ethics that nourish both.

What Israel’s strategic corridor in Gaza reveals about its postwar plans

Israeli troops are fortifying a strategic corridor that carves Gaza in two, building bases, taking over civilian structures and razing homes, according to satellite imagery and other visual evidence — an effort that military analysts and Israeli experts say is part of a large-scale project to reshape the Strip and entrench the Israeli military presence there.

The Netzarim Corridor is a four-mile-long road just south of Gaza City that runs from east to west, stretching from the Israeli border to the Mediterranean Sea. Hamas has made Israel’s withdrawal from the area a central demand in cease-fire negotiations.

CBC has whitewashed Israel’s crimes in Gaza. I saw it firsthand

Working for five years as a producer at the public broadcaster, I witnessed the double standards and discrimination in its coverage of Palestine—and experienced directly how CBC disciplines those who speak out

The executive producer peered at me with concern. It was November 16, 2023 and I had been called into a virtual meeting at CBC. I was approaching my sixth year with the public broadcaster, where I worked as a producer in television and radio.

He said he could tell I was “passionate” about what was happening in Gaza. His job, he told me, was to ensure my passion wasn’t making me biased. He said I hadn’t “crossed the line” yet, but that I had to be careful. The conversation ended with him suggesting that I might want to go on mental health leave.

I declined. My mind was fine. I could see clearly what was happening.

Canada provides $40 million in new assistance for Hamas front UNRWA

Ahmed Hussen Islamist

OTTAWA – Canada is providing $40 million to help Palestinians in the Gaza Strip amid concern over what it calls a catastrophic humanitarian situation, worsened by an Israeli ground offensive in Rafah.

Ottawa says the funding will support the provision of food, water, emergency medical assistance, protection services and other life-saving assistance in the region.

The money will go to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees, known as UNRWA, as well as trusted partners in the region including the Canadian Red Cross and other Canadian non-governmental organizations.

Israel accuses South Africa of false claims at ICJ

International Court Of Justice – ICJ

Israel has accused South Africa of distorting reality in its attempt to get the UN’s top court to force it to stop its military campaign in the town of Rafah in southern Gaza.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) began two days of hearings on Thursday, when South Africa told the court that Israel intended to “wipe [the Palestinians] off the face of the Earth”, calling Rafah “the final stand”.

Lawyers for Israel presented their response to the court on Friday.
