UK: The Islamist threat is all too real

Responding to the Government’s new definition of extremism, the Muslim Association of Britain called the move “cynical… Orwellian” and an “erosion of civil liberties”.

The response was a case study in how Islamists use the language of liberalism to pursue illiberal objectives. For the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB) is one of several organisations declared extremist by Michael Gove in Parliament last week. Previously, an expert government report called it “the Muslim Brotherhood in the UK”.

Joe Roberts: NDP’s anti-Israel motion is a moral test for this country

It’s become crystal clear why there have been four ministers of foreign affairs in the past five years under the Trudeau government: it is are a rudderless ship with no vision for how Canada should be represented on the world stage. The prime minister’s leadership has been catastrophic for Canadian foreign policy.

The Liberals have failed to meet our NATO commitments, leaving our allies questioning our ability and our resolve. They’ve failed to stand with our Israeli allies, who are facing an existential threat. They’ve left Canada’s image degraded, tarnished and nearing the point of total collapse.

Signs That The Religion Of Peace Is Intensifying Its Grip

Post 10/7 Looks a Lot Like Post 9/11, Only Worse

News that the U.S. will build a “temporary pier” in the Mediterranean Sea to facilitate transfer of humanitarian aid to the Hamas-occupied Gaza Strip should tickle the déjà vu receptors of anyone who was politically aware at the dawn of the 21st century.

After the worst terrorist attack against the U.S. in its 225-year history on September 11, 2001, “the world” reacted sympathetically at first. But it didn’t last long. After the worst terrorist attack against Israel in its 75-year history on October 7, 2023, the world’s sympathy was as ephemeral as an Ivy League “pro-Palestine” hunger strike.

The U.S. and Israel were consoled and pitied – until they fought back. Then they were suddenly portrayed as aggressive colonizing villains, each seeking to impose its version of “empire” on an oppressed “other” while meting out “collective punishment.”

NDP motion to recognize a Palestinian state tests Liberal caucus divisions over Israel-Hamas

OTTAWA — MPs are set to vote Monday on an NDP motion calling on the government to officially recognize a Palestinian state, testing deep splits in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal caucus over the Israel-Hamas war.

The motion also calls on the government to advocate for an end to what it calls the “decades-long occupation of Palestinian territories.” It calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all hostages, an arms embargo against Israel, unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza and a lifting of the “arbitrary cap” on the government’s temporary resident visa applications from Gazans.

LILLEY: Jewish Canadians feel abandoned by politicians, police and you

Two weeks ago, I was hearing a disturbing message from two young Canadians while having lunch at a downtown Toronto cafe.

They were questioning whether it’s still safe to be a Jew in Canada.

This week, I was sitting with two rabbis in Thornhill as they raised the same questions for themselves and their congregations.

I don’t blame them for feeling that way.

But to be clear politicians count votes not principles and the police are a militia who follow the orders of our pols.

Neither politicians or the police were ever your friend.

This could be the devastating proof that Hamas is faking its death figures

But too many won’t believe anything other than that Israel is deliberately targeting women and children

One of the marks of anti-Semitism, George Orwell observed in 1945, is “an ability to believe stories that could not possibly be true”. Which brings us smartly to Hamas and how the broadcast media, aid organisations, international bodies and world leaders take its disinformation as gospel. Last week it became clear that this gullibility may have led to a crime against reality.

Pro-Palestinian activists target dozens of MPs in ‘litany of menace’

A damning dossier has revealed almost 40 incidents of MPs and councillors being targeted with intimidatory tactics by pro-Palestinian activists, The Telegraph can disclose.

PA Officers by day, terrorists by night

A shocking new study released by the Regavim Movement, an NGO dedicated to the protection of Israel’s national lands and resources throughout the country, reveals the deep and growing involvement of officers of the Palestinian Authority’s security apparatus – officers who are trained, armed and equipped by the US and Europe – in terrorism against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers.

Brampton company says its light armoured vehicles were destined for police use in Israel, not Gaza, as Ottawa delays shipments

OTTAWA—A Canadian company that makes light armoured vehicles says its shipments destined for police use in Israel, not military use in Gaza, have been delayed without explanation by the federal government.

So have Brampton-based Roshel’s proposed shipments of light armoured vehicles (LAVS) for federal police use in Bosnia, the company says, with applications for an export licence filed on Sept. 11, nearly a month before war broke out in the Middle East. The company says this indicates Ottawa’s delays in approvals are “systemic.”

A literary magazine’s collapse reveals the censorship the Israel-Hamas war has wrought

There’s a story often told about Pablo Picasso’s Guernica. In black and white and shades of grey, his monumental anti-war mural depicts the aftermath of the 1937 German and Italian bombing of the Basque town of Guernica, in support of Spain’s nationalists. As the legend goes, when a Nazi officer visited Picasso’s apartment in German-occupied Paris, he pointed to the mural.

“Did you do that?” the Nazi asked.

“No,” Picasso responded. “You did.”

Teen Vogue quietly tweaks article on US airman’s self-immolation after ‘glorifying suicide’

Teen Vogue has quietly made changes to a controversial story it published about a US airman who lit himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington last month — days after critics slammed the article for “glorifying suicide” and promoting “propaganda”.

The Condé Nast-owned magazine published a March 5 article about Aaron Bushnell — the 25-year-old US airman who self-immolated on Feb. 25 while screaming, “Free Palestine!” — and the glossy publication got blasted for minimizing Bushnell’s potential mental health issues while portraying him as a martyr fighting an alleged “genocide.”

Israel-Gaza: Aid reaches Gaza shore in first sea delivery

The first maritime humanitarian aid shipment to Gaza has been unloaded on to the shore.

The US charity behind the mission, World Central Kitchen, is carrying out the mission in co-operation with the United Arab Emirates.

The shipment contained 200 tonnes of food desperately needed for Gaza, which the UN says is on the brink of famine.

Toronto police make arrest as pro-Palestinian protesters rally outside Trudeau event

Toronto police made an arrest on Friday as a large crowd of pro-Palestinian demonstrators rallied outside a downtown hotel where Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was appearing at a Liberal party fundraiser.

Protest organizers had earlier promised to disrupt the event at the King Edward Hotel, insisting in a statement that the Liberal Party of Canada could not proceed with “business as usual” amid the Israel-Hamas war.

March break so the protests may be a little larger than they have been of late.
