Hamas, Israel and the Hypocrisy of Arab and Muslim Leaders

Most of the Arabs who are now condemning Israel for its military strikes against the Iran-backed Hamas terrorist group in the Gaza Strip have never uttered a word against Hamas’s rocket attacks on Israel. These Arabs, who are now weeping over the plight of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, chose to turn a blind eye to Hamas’s repressive measures against the residents of the Gaza Strip. They also chose to look the other way as Hamas accumulated an arsenal of weapons and built dozens of offensive tunnels along the border with Israel. Incredibly, most of these Arabs still have not denounced Hamas for initiating the war on October 7, when hundreds of its heavily armed members crossed into Israel and massacred more than 1,400 Israelis, wounded thousands more, and abducted more than 200 hostages who were taken to Gaza.

Cory Morgan: Unions Have No Business Being Anti-Israel Activists

Canadians were horrified as the carnage and bloodshed were unfolding in Israel during the unprecedented terrorist attack by Hamas was unfolding. The horror turned to outrage for many when the social media account for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) local 3906 cheered on the attack, saying “Palestine is rising, long live the resistance!”

CUPE 3906 represents staff and faculty members at McMaster University. The university quickly released a statement distancing itself from its own union.

Israel-Hamas war tests Western unity as Global South slams ‘double standards’

It was supposed to be a landmark visit, featuring a politically seasoned US president arriving in an active war zone to hold talks with representatives on both sides of a longstanding conflict that had reached a crisis point.

US President Joe Biden’s Mideast visit was meant to mark America’s return to a geopolitical zone after a “pivot” in recent years, but where Washington still has the clout to bring aggrieved regional players together.

Gil Troy: Students, it’s time to find your courage and confront Hamas apologists on campus

Dear students,

I cannot believe it. How can we wake up every morning since Oct. 7 knowing that young kids are being imprisoned in dungeons simply because they are Jewish and not speak out? How can we accept a world in which young women are sexually enslaved, while others are being tortured, because they were visiting Israel? Why would you respect a campus culture that excuses such abominations?

Berlin: 174 arrested at unauthorized pro-Palestinian events

At least 174 people were arrested and 65 police officers were injured at unauthorized pro-Palestinian demonstrations in Berlin on Wednesday night, according to a police spokesperson.

Authorities had banned such protests, which have been called in response to the conflict between Israel and Hamas, the militant group which killed around 1,400 Israelis in a terrorist attack two weeks ago.

Clashes broke out in the district of Neukölln between police and protesters who did not comply with orders to disperse.

Trudeau’s Liberals Prioritize Delicate Sensibilities Of Hamas Supporters Over Truth Of Hospital Bombing

Federal government isn’t saying who it thinks was behind Gaza hospital blast

The federal Liberal government dodged questions Wednesday about who Ottawa believes is responsible for the Gaza hospital blast that may have killed or maimed hundreds of people in the Palestinian territory.

Hamas has blamed an Israeli airstrike for the blast at the Ahli Arab Hospital, an Anglican Church-run facility in Gaza City.

The Israeli military has said a misfired rocket launched by other Palestinian militants was behind the explosion.

Junior luvs that Muslim vote.

The Israel-Hamas war is sowing strife in national capitals around the world

Although 999 of every 1,000 people on Earth live outside the theatre of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it has long had a hold on the public imagination stronger than that of many larger and deadlier conflicts.

Much of the world barely noticed the war that tore Ethiopia apart between 2020 and 2022, causing innumerable atrocities and hundreds of thousands of deaths. It featured rampages of murder and rape against civilians even deadlier than those Hamas perpetrated on October 7. It saw the bombing of cities and the deliberate starving of civilians.

Anywhere you have a Muslim diaspora you have riots. The religion of the perpetually offended doesn’t need Israel as reason to run amuck.

Star Columnist Demands Israel Cease Collective Punishment Of The Baby Beheaders

Canada must use its clout to demand Israel stop collective punishment

… But Israel is not fighting Nazis. Naziism was a far graver threat to Jews. And it was based on pure racism, not on a battle over land — which, unlike racism, is possibly negotiable.

Bennett and others might prefer to characterize Israel as fighting Nazis because that makes it easier to justify relentlessly bombing and cutting off water and electricity to Palestinian civilians, effectively treating them as Nazis to be obliterated.

This amounts to collective punishment, a war crime under international law. It is also deeply unfair to the 2.3 million Gazans — half of them children — who clearly had no role in the highly secretive Hamas attack.

Ms. McQuaig should be asked her interpretation of “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free” and the characterization of baby killing as “resistance” by so many of our fellow “Canadians.”

Sabrina Maddeaux: Trudeau’s rush to blame Israel for Gaza hospital explosion an embarrassment to Canada

For a party that so brazenly accuses its opponents of spreading disinformation and misinformation, the federal Liberals too often fail to pass their own test. In the aftermath of Hamas’ brutal terrorist attack on Israel, and in the midst of one of the most pivotal geopolitical crises in recent years and a pronounced spike in antisemitism, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and some of his cabinet ministers seem to be having a hard time breaking their bad habits.

Inside an Israeli ‘war room’ on the volatile Lebanon border

They call it “Hamal” – short for “war room” in Hebrew. It sits high in the mountains on the Israel-Lebanon border, at the heart of a complex protected by blast walls.

Everything here is about security. There are no windows, and before you can pass through the solid door you have to leave behind mobile phones and smart watches – anything that could give away this secret location.

Inside are banks of monitors. Right around the clock, a team of soldiers are gazing at them intently.

Can Canadians Stop Paying Union Dues Over Ideological Differences?

Workers in most other comparable countries have more freedom than Canadians to disassociate themselves from unions they find ideologically objectionable, says labour expert John Mortimer.

Mr. Mortimer, who is president of the non-profit Canadian LabourWatch Association, discussed with The Epoch Times the realities workers face if they want to stop paying dues to unions such as the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).

Democrats Tlaib & Omar Duck Questions About Baselessly Blaming Israel for Hospital Bombing

On Tuesday afternoon, Democratic congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar rushed to Twitter to repeat Hamas’s claim that Israel had bombed a Gaza hospital, killing 500 civilians, as though it were a fact.

“Israel just bombed the Baptist Hospital killing 500 Palestinians (doctors, children, patients) just like that,” Tlaib tweeted. “Bombing a hospital is among the gravest of war crimes. The IDF reportedly blowing up one of the few places the injured and wounded can seek medical treatment and shelter during a war is horrific,” Omar tweeted.
