Just Another Terror Attack?

The scariest outcome of the attacks in Israel may also be the most likely: that this one is just the first of its kind.

I spent last December in Jerusalem. It’s a vibrant city unlike any other, ebbing and flowing with ancient religious passions yet still youthful—and filled with the political extremism common to the young. Violence hovers here, enough to be felt, but not enough to paralyze. That’s how Ilya Sosansky, a bartender, 26, told me he felt.

Ilya said that he never felt safe in Jerusalem, though he accepted this as a fact of life. He was born in Ukraine but raised in Israel after his parents fled anti-Semitism there. He was jealous of those, like me, who grew up in quiet America. (My parents left Russia for America instead of Israel.)

Israel Festival-Goers ‘Defenseless’ After Gun Ban

Some Second Amendment proponents are criticizing the policies of an Israeli music festival that was attacked by Hamas militants over the weekend.

Thousands of people were dancing at the Supernova festival early Saturday when the surprise assault on Israel took place. After hearing sirens and rockets go off, festival-goers heard a barrage of gunfire that halted the music and sent crowds scrambling to get to safety. At least 260 bodies have been recovered from the festival site in the Negev Desert in southern Israel, according to rescue agency Zaka.

Amid images of Hamas’s brutality, how can so many in the West be so callous?

One of the lesser-known heroes of the Holocaust was a man named Rudolf Vrba, a Slovakian Jew who managed to escape from Auschwitz in 1944. Together with fellow escapee Alfred Wetzler, Mr. Vrba put together a collection of sketches, stories and descriptions of the concentration camp where he personally saw Nazis murder thousands of Jews. Their report would eventually wake up the world to the mass exterminations happening at Nazi death camps.

Hamas is not long for this world

There was long been a swell of sympathy for Hamas in the West. A certain leader of the opposition, you will remember, referred to them as his ‘friends’ and said that the UK government classifying them as a ‘terrorist organisation’ was a ‘big, big historical mistake’. He did not condemn Hamas this week. And he is not alone. The mass rallies on the streets of Britain in recent days have shown the level of support for a barbarism that for years has been quietly accommodated in this country.

Jihad on Israel: Where Does Turkey Stand? – Part II

When, on October 7, the terrorist group Hamas launched an unprovoked attack on Israel, killing more than 1,300 Israeli men, women and children (and wounding thousands more), Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, rather than dusting off his usual inflammatory anti-Israel rants, uncharacteristically advised both sides for restraint. That was, after Erdoğan’s vow to isolate Israel internationally had brought Turkey a heavy geopolitical cost, This was Erdoğan’s pragmatist-self.

Auditors allege Muslim Association of Canada charity helped Hamas financier

A government audit of one of Canada’s largest Muslim charities alleges some of its directors and employees were involved in “an apparent Hamas support network.”

Canada Revenue Agency auditors cited the “troubling” allegation as one of the reasons it felt there were grounds to revoke the charity status of the Muslim Association of Canada.

The March 2021 audit document, obtained by Global News, details the concerns the CRA charities branch raised about the federally-funded Muslim Association of Canada (MAC).

Gaza residents told to move south as Israel prepares for expected ground assault .. Hamas tells them to stay and sacrifice themselves

Israel’s military has delivered sweeping evacuation orders for almost half of Gaza’s 2.3 million people before an expected ground offensive aiming to eradicate the Hamas militant group after its unprecedented assault on Israel and the seizure of dozens of hostages.

In the blockaded enclave, the evacuation notice issued in the early hours of Friday sent panic through civilians and aid workers already struggling under intense Israeli airstrikes, and a blockade in which no food, fuel or medical supplies is being allowed in. The UN considers the tightened siege a war crime.

Hamas tells Gaza residents to stay home as Israel ground offensive looms

Mosques called on residents of the Gaza Strip not to leave their homes on Friday after Israel’s military told all civilians, more than 1 million people, to relocate south ahead of an expected ground invasion that risks high casualties.

This may be the pivotal moment in fighting between the Israeli military and the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which on Saturday launched the bloodiest attack on the country since the 1973 Arab-Israeli war.

Anti-Israel protests have been held in a ‘day of jihad’ across the world today after former Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal demanded thousands of Muslims take to the streets to demonstrate amid the ongoing conflict.

The demonstrations were staged after Friday prayers in Muslim communities around the world – including in Iraq, Japan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka – condemning Israel’s attacks on Gaza and showing support for Palestinians in the wake of the deadly surprise attack launched by Hamas terrorists in southern Israel.

Tens of thousands of demonstrators gathered Friday in Tahrir Square in the centre of Baghdad, and similar protests are expected in Syria and other Arab countries following afternoon prayers.
