It’s sad and alarming what local Jews have been facing

Over the past 19 months, on several occasions, Toronto Police Service has published figures showing an alarming surge in antisemitic hate crimes in our city. Just this month, the TPS released data showing a historic high in reported hate crime incidents in 2024, with Jews the most targeted.

While the Jewish community represents less than 4 per cent of Toronto’s population, anti-Jewish hate crimes accounted for 40 per cent of all reported incidents.

Remarkably, even in the face of incontrovertible, well-documented facts, some people seek to diminish or rationalize this sobering situation. They insist it’s not about Jews, it’s about Israel. But the reality on the ground tells a very different story, as Jewish individuals and institutions continue to face an onslaught of hate, as documented by the recent police statistics.

The author ends with a plea for non-Jews to take action especially our public officials.

Beyond lip service nothing will happen.

Our public officials are part of the problem. It was they who imported the Islamists.

Years of conditioning Canadians as racist settler Islamophobes has paid off thanks to DEI and CRT.

Alan Kessel: Anand’s one-sided comments on Israel a strategic blunder

It invites adversaries to believe that Canada’s leadership can be pressured or swayed by asymmetric warfare and media optics

Practically the first words out of Anita Anand’s mouth after she became Canada’s new foreign affairs minister were not about reaffirming alliances, protecting Canadian citizens abroad or defending democratic norms. Instead, she chose to cast immediate blame on Israel for the devastating conditions in Gaza — without acknowledging, let alone condemning, Hamas’s horrific October 7 massacre, which precipitated this war.

It’s not a blunder.

It’s just a reflection of our modern political landscape which now resembles a map of  Middle Earth with Mordor menacing in the distance.

Media Optics? Canada’s government paid media are too often just typists serving up Liberal Party positions as news.

Thanks to a demographic tainted by criminally bad immigration policy the Liberal Party has chosen to side with the Islamists a vote bloc considerably larger than Canada’s Jewish community.

LPC lip service to the Zionist bloc will continue as required.

In Gaza, Long-Suffering Palestinians Are Directing Their Anger at Hamas

As the Gaza war nears its 20th month, pressure is building on Hamas from different fronts—not least of which is the growing anger among ordinary Palestinians who have had enough of the hunger, sleeplessness and the ever-present threat of airstrikes from Israeli forces.

Israel says it has started to expand its military offensive in the Gaza Strip, potentially displacing more Palestinians and occupying territory. The specter of starvation is growing from two months of Israel blocking humanitarian aid into the besieged enclave after a fragile cease-fire broke down. A U.S.-backed aid distribution is being planned, which Israel says would prevent Hamas profiting from seizures of food and fuel deliveries to civilians. An Israeli airstrike this week targeted Mohammed Sinwar, Hamas’ top leader in Gaza, which if proven to be successful would be a big blow to the militant group.

But few expected Hamas to be wrestling with the most visible internal challenge to its authority since it seized control of the Gaza strip in 2007: the people it professes to represent.

So called community groups sign letter opposing proposed ‘bubble zone’ bylaw

OTTAWA – Efforts by the City of Toronto to protect schools, seniors’ homes and places-of-worship from disruptive protests are being opposed by city activists.

The Toronto Sun intercepted a letter distributed among city non-profit groups and community activists opposing a proposed “bubble zone” bylaw declaring “vulnerable institutions” no-go zones for protesters.

Hamas Celebrates Shooting That Killed Israeli Mother en Route to Deliver Baby

An Israeli woman on the way to a hospital to give birth was shot and killed in the West Bank on Wednesday, in an attack that Hamas applauded as a “heroic act.”

The baby boy survived after being delivered in an emergency cesarean section, Israeli health officials said, and remained in “serious but stable” condition. No Palestinian militant group took responsibility for the attack, but a Hamas spokesman praised the shooting in a statement.

The England We Once Respected

Jews have a long history of residence in the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, under King Edward I in 1290 CE, England was one of the first countries to expel Jews from its borders — an event which Oliver Cromwell remedied in 1650, after nearly 400 years.

Since 1650, after a relatively undisturbed period in the UK of nearly another 400 years, publicly expressed animosity toward the Jews is escalating. Towards the end of April 2025, a British journalist who frequently appeared on the BBC’s Arabic channel commenting on Gaza events, reportedly called for “Jews to be burned ‘as Hitler did.'” The BBC lamely explained that the person was not “a member of staff nor part of the BBC’s reporting team.” Even so, the BBC – Britain’s official broadcaster – has frequently allowed pro-Palestinian content and, by implication, anti-Jewish sentiment to be promoted.

Footage released of IDF strike targeting Hamas leader in Khan Yunis

Dramatic footage from a rare IDF airstrike in Khan Yunis was released Wednesday, showing Gaza residents walking through an open area before sudden explosions and fire erupt at the site.

The strike targeted an underground command-and-control complex located beneath the European Hospital in southern Gaza.

Journalism or Jihad?

The Qatar-based Al Jazeera Media Institute recently hosted a webinar for journalists about detecting media bias to coincide with Press Freedom Day. One big problem: Muhammad Khamaiseh, the Al Jazeera instructor who specializes in “journalism ethics”, himself has a record not only of media bias but of hatred and discrimination. That’s quite an ethical dilemma, an area in which he claims to be an expert, and it’s also a dilemma for Al Jazeera, the organization for which he frequently acts as a public standard bearer.

What Most Palestinians Really Want

An overwhelming majority of the Palestinians (87%) believe that the Iran-backed Palestinian terror group Hamas did not commit atrocities against Israeli civilians, including women and children, on October 7, 2023, according to a public opinion poll conducted in early May by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research.

When asked if Hamas had committed the atrocities seen in the videos shown by international media displaying the acts committed by Hamas members against Israelis in their homes on that day, these Palestinians said the group did not commit such atrocities, while only 9% said it did.

Hamas frees US-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander

Hamas has said it has released the last living American hostage in Gaza.

Edan Alexander, 21, was handed to the Red Cross in Rafah on Monday afternoon.

In a statement, Hamas said: “The (Ezzedine) Al-Qassam Brigades have just released the Zionist soldier and American citizen Edan Alexander, following contacts with the US administration, as part of the efforts undertaken by mediators to achieve a ceasefire.”

Barbara Kay: The credulously pro-terror members of Mark Carney’s caucus

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s election victory speech included a note of humility: “Over my long career, I have made many mistakes, and I will make more, but I commit to admitting them openly, to correcting them quickly, and always learning from them.” Yet it is too late to correct one of his big mistakes. Will he at least admit to and learn from it?

During the election campaign, 28 Liberal candidates (19 of them elected) signed onto a five-point anti-Israel Vote Palestine platform. Vote Palestine began as a BDS project, and quickly gathered steam after a trial run in the 2021 election. The platform contains demands — such as a two-way arms embargo against Israel, a full boycott of Israel-controlled territories and recognition of Palestine as a state — that do not reflect current Liberal policy. In total, 362 candidates signed on.

Fixed Your Headline: Canada’s elites have disgraced themselves by their complicity with the Islamists

Interview with author Douglas Murray: ‘Canada has disgraced itself’

With rising Jew-hatred, what might be the tipping point for Jewish North Americans?

DM: It’s extremely hard to say, because everybody has their own early warning system in their heads, in their hearts. All I would say is that many Jews in the West have felt the first time in their lives, the re-eruption of hatred of Jews.

And by the way, nowhere more so than in Canada. To my mind, Canada has disgraced itself in the last 18 months by showing that that anti-Jewish hatred is permissible and is tolerable in a way which hatred of no other group would be.

I would submit that if there were a large number of protests across Canada calling for lynching of black people or Indigenous people or gay people or anything else, that all of the strength of government and civil society would condemn the people doing that. Swiftly, too.

This is the great shame of Canada, that synagogue after synagogue and Jewish school after Jewish school across Canada should have been attacked, fire bombed, shot at. Canada’s politicians, if they care about Canada’s view in the world, should address this. But of course, seems that they’re doing the classic thing of feeding the crocodile.

The average Canadian does not share the toxic values of our elite.

Our political class, the crony capitalists who crave cheap foreign labour and the 5th columnists who infiltrated the academy and our government bureaucracy are responsible for this mess, ordinary Canadians had nothing to do with it.

Canadians were bullied and bludgeoned with the smears of Islamophobia and racism if they dared declare the obvious, that Islam is a violent cult and should never have been allowed to gain a foothold in Canada.

Rather than admit their lunatic decision to import Islam was a horrid disaster our government encouraged DEI programs that ensured  white working class people were scapegoated as Canada’s “official national oppressors”.  All because our skin tone automatically makes us Nazis.

So it should be a slam dunk that Canada’s many many millions of Nazis could make a case that the Swastika has been culturally appropriated by Islamists and their useful idiots.

Unfortunately Islamist marches  have more “Jews For Palestine” in their ranks than wannabe white Hitlers nixing that notion.

I wonder what plans Carney’ immigration advisor Wiseman has in store for us. What other countries besides Canada does he think should enjoy the benefits of unvetted mass immigration?

Please forgive my confusion but why should we rally to our cynical elites call to fight an evil they imported and continue to support? Wouldn’t that be Islamophobic?

A gift from Canada’s elite to you.

Terry Newman: Nova festival exhibit shows survivors still paying dearly for October 7

On Tuesday, I visited the Nova Music Festival Exhibition — a travelling installation dedicated to the memory of the brutal massacre of 411 Nova music festival attendees and hostage taking of 43 others by Hamas terrorists in Israel on October 7, 2023 — an event the organizers point out is the largest massacre in music history. The exhibit speaks to the remarkable resilience of surviving festival-goers and their desire to heal their community which they refer to as the Nova Tribe. What’s unfortunate, is that doing so requires such a heavy and costly security detail.
