Mississaugastan Held Their Yahya Sinwar Memorial Rally Despite Much Huffing & Puffing

Rosie DiManno: We need to hear more from Mississauga’s mayor on Hamas controversy

Mississauga Mayor Carolyn Parrish is no stranger to contempt-signalling.

She’s called Americans “bastards,’’ referred to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq as a “coalition of idiots,’’ stomped on a George W. Bush doll and was kicked out of the Liberal caucus for describing then-prime minister Paul Martin as “weak.’’ That was in her MP era.

Which is merely to suggest that theatre of the absurd is right in the mayor’s wheelhouse.

This is a good rant by Rosie DiManno of the Star against Mississaugastan Mayor Carolyn Parrish but as I posted on X  it misses the mark.

Where DiManno and others go wrong is in their refusal to recognize that Parrish isn’t the problem her constituents are.

Instead we get over the top outrage at the Nelson Mandela slur and a recitation of the memorial creators prolific Islamist lunacy.

Parrish and Firas Al Najim are good lightening rods for Rosie’s Two Minute Hate but they’re the symptom not the disease. Islam is.

Parrish is loathsome but she’s not stupid and knew her Islamist support base would back her against demands to ban the Sinwar memorial and nothing says that better than yesterday’s videos of the Sinwar celebration (See below).

I can’t wait for Justin Trudeau’s statement of outrage.

If Oct 7 has taught us anything it is that support for Israel’s destruction has deep and wide support among the Muslim diaspora, our schools, universities and the political elites.

Will anything be done about Carolyn’s constituents?

You know the answer.

The elites who enthusiastically imported and continue to coddle the Islamists now cosplay their support for the Jews while simultaneously condemning our Islamophobia.

You and I are expected to serve as props in what amounts to an elite power struggle.

No thanks. I refuse to be cannon fodder for an elite who have demonized me as an Islamophobe and smeared me as a racist oppressor in their DEI struggle sessions.

Word of advice, fear who may follow Parrish as mayor and make sure any solution you offer to deal with Carolyn’s supporters includes Mass Deportation.

PS. I get Mandela is a Liberal Totem*  but please. h/t Patti Jo for the vids.

Police refuse to pursue ‘hate crime’ after Swastika sent to Jewish group

A police force refused to prosecute a man who sent an image of the Star of David intertwined with the Nazi swastika to a Jewish students’ organisation, on the basis it was not offensive enough.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary concluded that the image, sent on social media to the Union of Jewish Students, was not “grossly offensive” and therefore not a crime, it has emerged. As a result, the incident was reported as a non-crime hate incident (NCHI).

I don’t believe the Hibachi girl was bothered by the TPS.

A clearer picture is slowly emerging of the violence involving soccer fans in Amsterdam

A week after Israeli soccer fans were attacked in the streets of Amsterdam, triggering damning accusations of a “Jew hunt” in a city with an ugly history of antisemitism, a clearer picture of what happened that night is slowly emerging.

It suggests a far more nuanced take on events than Dutch authorities had initially indicated.

The Possibility of a ‘Golden Age’ in the Middle East

Never underestimate the power of an administration’s single term or the harm that policies – whether constructive or poorly-informed — can have on the international stage.

As President Joe Biden’s administration approaches the end of its term, it is hard not to see the global volatility, emboldened adversaries, and fractured alliances.

Those are lessons to be learned about the costs of weakness in leadership and the consequences of strategic missteps in foreign policy.

The Intifada Was Globalized in Amsterdam

On university campuses throughout the world, there have been chants demanding that the violent intifada – which killed thousands of Israeli children, women and other civilians – be “globalized.” Last week, we witnessed the first significant manifestation of that demand in Amsterdam, where large groups of predominantly Arab and Muslim rioters physically attacked Israelis and Jews who had been cheering for an Israeli soccer team.

Although some of the media tried to blame the attacks on Israelis, the evidence strongly suggests that this pogrom was planned well in advance and would have taken place even if there had been no provocation by Israeli fans.

Chris Selley: The perils of ‘defining’ bigotry

The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) and B’nai Brith both say they’re “alarmed” by news that “the government of Canada is considering a definition of anti-Palestinian racism.”

“Canada risks branding legitimate critiques of Palestinian political narratives as ‘racist’ or ‘discriminatory’,” B’nai Brith warned. “This dangerous expansion of the definition of racism will censor open discussion of Jewish identity, history, and the right to self-determination — core aspects of Zionism and Jewish identity.”

Canada’s dirty money is funding instability in the Middle East

Hamas’ and Hezbollah’s financial tentacles span the globe and reach deep into Canada.

“War is a matter not so much of arms as of money,” according to ancient Greek historian Thucydides. Indeed, the gruelling year-long, multifront counteroffensive is costing Israel’s economy $260-million – a day.

The other side deals with a similar problem, which is compounded by the fact that Hamas has impoverished Gaza. Yet, until recently, Hamas seemingly had no shortage of cash.

Vancouver police staged a raid Thursday morning at the home of a high-profile pro-Palestinian activist who is currently facing a hate crime investigation.

Neighbours awoke to the sound of a “bang” around 9 a.m., and were surprised to see an armoured police vehicle and heavily-armed members of the Vancouver Police Department’s Emergency Response Team outside the home near 1st Avenue and Victoria Drive.

Jesse Kline: The lie behind definitions of ‘anti-Palestinian racism’

Rather than working toward a world in which everyone is treated with dignity based on their inherent human worth — not treated differently due to their religion or ethnic background — we are now locked in an arms race between groups seeking to define various forms of racism.

This process has been spurred on by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who seems to think that stuffy conferences and lengthy dissertations are the solution to the ever-growing levels of hate on Canadian streets.

Ottawa asked to adopt ‘anti-Palestinian racism’ approach, alarming Jewish groups worried about pro-Israel speech

OTTAWA — Jewish-Canadian groups are voicing concerns after special anti-Islamophobia representative Amira Elghawaby met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last week to urge him to adopt a federal definition of “anti-Palestinian racism.”

Critics warn that embracing the concept could end up targeting Jewish Canadians by conflating pro-Israel speech with racism, while insulating pro-Palestinian interpretations of history from criticism.
