Hollywood Movies Still Missing

Why American films ignore life under Communism.

Every so often someone in Hollywood uses his power to break the movie colony’s rules. Consider this year’s “Total Eclipse.” Odd as it may seem, this is the first serious American film set against the background of the 1939 Nazi-Soviet Pact, the deal that allied Europe’s two totalitarian powers against the West and helped plunge the world into war. With an ally on the Eastern Front, Hitler sent his Panzers west while Stalin helped himself to the Baltic states and invaded Finland. A film like this could have been as big a didactic dud as the Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s 1982 bomb, “Inchon,” with Laurence Olivier as Gen. Douglas MacArthur. But this time the verisimilitude of the script, carried by some outstanding performances, is the source of the film’s dramatic power.

Woke Fail: Disney Begins Layoffs, Hiring Freeze, and Limiting Employee Travel as Stock Crashes

It’s been a bad week for the Walt Disney Co.

First, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) won re-election in a landslide victory on Tuesday. Then Disney’s corporate earnings disappointed Wall Street, sending its stock crashing to new lows. Now the entertainment giant is reportedly planning layoffs, a targeted hiring freeze, and travel limitation on its employee.

It takes a lot of effort to screw up an institution like Disney.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Saying he wants to clear his name, Alec Baldwin on Friday sued people involved in handling and supplying the loaded gun that he was using when it fired, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during a 2021 filming accident in New Mexico.

Baldwin filed a cross-complaint in Superior Court in Los Angeles alleging negligence against some of the people sued by a script supervisor, Mamie Mitchell. Among other things, it seeks a share of any damages that Mitchell may win from the people Baldwin names and asks that they pay for any damages assessed against him.

Prosecutor: Women’s stories show Weinstein’s predatory power

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A prosecutor at Harvey Weinstein’s sexual assault trial told jurors Tuesday that the accusers who will testify will tell uncannily similar stories of themselves as young aspiring women who were cornered in hotel rooms by a man who at the time was the definition of Hollywood power.

“Each of these women came forward independent of each other, and none of them knew one another,” Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson said during his opening statement at Weinstein’s Los Angeles trial.

The 70-year-old former movie mogul, already serving a 23-year sentence in New York, is charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault in California.

Sacheen Littlefeather, made famous for declining Marlon Brando’s Oscar is revealed as Hispanic NOT Native American

Sacheen LittleFraud

Native American actress and activist Sacheen Littlefeather, who died earlier this month at the age of 75, has been exposed as an ethnic fraud by her two Hispanic sisters.

The model-turned-activist gained instant notoriety in 1973, when she took the stage at the Academy Awards in place of Marlon Brando. The actor, who had won the best actor statue for his role in ‘The Godfather,’ allowed Littlefeather to speak in his stead about the way Native Americans were treated in Hollywood.

Gavin Newsom’s wife emailed Harvey Weinstein asking for help dealing with California Gov’s cheating scandal two years AFTER movie magnate ‘raped and sexually assaulted her’, court hears

Gavin Newsom’s wife Jennifer wrote to Harvey Weinstein asking for his help in dealing with a sex scandal involving her husband, two years after she says the movie mogul raped her.

The email will be presented to the jury at Weinstein’s Los Angeles trial as apparent proof that their encounter was consensual. It was first raised last night in a filing from Weinstein’s legal team.

Jennifer Siebel Newsom says Weinstein raped her in 2005 after ‘luring’ her to a hotel room. At the time, she was an actress and had not yet started dating Newsom. In 2007, a year after she met Newsom and started dating him, he became embroiled in an embarrassing sex scandal.

Why can’t we just Nuke California?

Nolte: Amazon‘s Woke ‘Rings of Power‘ Loses Nearly 20% of Audience

Amazon’s woke (and boring) reimagining of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Rings universe is bleeding viewers when it should be snowballing.

According to the far-left Hollywood Reporter, “The Rings of Power had 988 million minutes of viewing time in the United States from Sept. 12 to 18, per Nielsen (the show’s fourth episode debuted Sept. 16). That’s a decline of about 18 percent from the previous week’s 1.2 billion minutes.”

The series has no connection to Tolkien’s world. No one asked for a ham-fisted reimagining with Gay elves, Bad MAGA people and identity politics.  No wonder people fall asleep watching, it’s just another boring batch of unpalatable leftist twaddle. A pity too as a great deal of money was invested in this. What a waste.
