Iran: A Grin and Bear it Game?

“Today he is the bravest, the wisest and the most popular leader of the Resistance Front.” This is how the Iranian daily Kayhan spoke of guess who.

Wrong guess.

The daily’s editorialists are notorious for their exaggerated praise of the “Supreme Guide” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. But this time it was not Khamenei they had in mind. Believe it or not, it was Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese branch of Hezbollah, who was thus being accoladed beyond his wildest dreams. You may wonder why…. Until recently, the Tehran media treated Nasrallah as something of an Iranian satrap in Beirut. Each time he came to Tehran, he was reported to have asked for an audience with the Great Leader to offer a report on his satrapy.

Iran: Desperately Seeking Gorbachev

Could Pezeshkian be Iran’s Gorbachev?

Referring to President Masoud Pezeshkian, the question was headlined in a Tehran daily Tuesday and triggered a torrent of comments.

The paper’s commentator described Pezeshkian as a man trusted by the system and thus capable of introducing unspecified reforms to save Iran from unspecified dangers.

This is not the first time that regime insiders call for adjustments in its trajectory.

How Iran’s Mullahs View the US Election

In Iran’s latest presidential elections, the candidates revealed that they are concerned about the possibility of former President Donald J. Trump winning the upcoming US election. From their perspective, a victory for Trump would be detrimental to their interests.

Since assuming office, the Biden-Harris administration, in the tradition of former President Barack Obama, released billions of dollars to Iran. In addition, there was lax enforcement of existing sanctions, waiving of other sanctions and no secondary sanctions whatsoever — meaning that any country that does business with Iran is banned from doing business with the US — placed on Iran to discourage other countries from financing it.

European Union Is Funding Iranian Aggression

The Iranian regime, largely thanks to the backing of a powerful ally, the European Union, has managed to sustain and even increase its revenue streams.

The continued funding of Iran’s regime by the EU is crucial in bolstering Iran’s ability to attack its neighbors and US troops in the region, both directly and through its proxies — Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Houthis — and to accelerate enriching uranium to complete its nuclear weapons program.

Gurski: Again, the Liberals show they don’t really understand national security

Last week saw a flurry of activity from the Canadian government on national security. First, it announced on June 19 that the IRGC — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — had been formally “listed” as a terrorist entity. Then the Senate approved Bill C-70 calling for the establishment of a foreign agent registry.

The Obama and Biden Administrations: Paving the Way for a Nuclear-Armed Iran

Death To Israel Missile Iran

As Iran is on the brink of acquiring nuclear weapons, the responsibility for this development lies squarely on the shoulders of the Obama and Biden administrations. Through a series of misinformed and misguided policies, they have paved the way for Iran to realize its nuclear ambitions.

America’s “diplomatic efforts,” instead of putting a stop to Iran’s nuclear program, have only resulted in a series of concessions that have empowered the Iranian regime. The lack of stringent enforcement and verification measures, and especially lifting secondary sanctions — by which any country that does business with Iran is prohibited from doing business with America — have allowed Iran to accelerate its nuclear activities “under the radar.” The leniency and strategic missteps of both the Obama and Biden administrations have thus critically undermined global non-proliferation efforts, bringing the world to the current situation where Iran stands about to become a nuclear-armed state.

Transphobic Iranian parliament proposes labeling Canadian army as terrorist group

Iranian lawmakers introduced a motion on Sunday to label the Canadian army a “terrorist” entity, according to the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency. This move follows Canada’s recent designation of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

The motion was presented during an open session in Tehran, where the Iranian parliament reacted to Canada’s declaration on Wednesday. The new measure mandates the Iranian government to categorize the Canadian army and affiliated armed and security forces as “terrorist” organizations.

Iran Mullahs Drastically Speed Up Their Nuclear Program, US Administration Sits Idly By

Death To Israel Missile Iran

The United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recently issued an unusually jarring warning, highlighting a development in Iran’s nuclear program. IAEA inspectors confirmed that, for the first time, Iran has commenced the process of feeding uranium gas into three cascades of advanced IR-4 and IR-6 centrifuges at its Natanz enrichment facility. These cascades, which consist of multiple centrifuges working in unison, increase the efficiency of uranium enrichment by spinning the uranium gas at extremely high speeds, allowing Iran to enrich it at a much faster rate and significantly reducing the time required to produce nuclear weapons.

Michael Higgins: Liberals realize IRGC is a terrorist group now that it’s politically convenient

Hurrah. Finally. At last, the Trudeau Liberals have listed as terrorists the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, one of the most dangerous organizations on the planet.

The fact it has taken them so long to do something so simple is an indicator that national and world security is not a high priority for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Of course, the Chinese election interference debacle has told us that already.

Canada to list Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as terrorist group after years of pressure

The federal government is preparing to list Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization under Canada’s Criminal Code after mounting pressure, CBC News has learned.

Multiple sources with knowledge of the talks say an announcement is expected as early as this week. Discussions are still ongoing and details not finalized, they said.

Once a group is placed on the country’s terror list, police can charge anyone who financially or materially supports the group and banks can freeze assets.

Sweden accuses Iran of paying local street gangs to conduct anti-Semitic attacks

Where are these strange anti-Semitic attacks, such as that which happened at the Brooklyn Museum, coming from?

For all the evidence out there that foundations are doing the dirty work, which is perfectly real, an important story linked by Instapundit found that Sweden has accused Iran of paying off street gangs to conduct antisemitic attacks in that country.

Bringing Iran ‘To Its Senses’

As Imperial Japan pursued a strategy of aggression and murderous destruction in China, the United States in 1940 sought to confront Tokyo with a strategy of economic restrictions, trading embargoes, and the threat of frozen financial assets.

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) said at the time it was not his intent to bring Japan to its knees but to its senses.

There are lessons from policies and strategies forged nearly 85 years ago that need to be learned and applied as it becomes evident to those even in deliberate denial that Iran remains the malevolent force in the Middle East, masterminding the recent carnage inflicted by Hamas on Israel.

The West will be forced to reckon with the threat posed by the 5th Column of Islamists within its borders.

Sweden: Iran Uses Criminal Gangs To Carry Out Terror Attacks

Sweden’s Security Service Säpo confirmed on Thursday that the Iranian regime is recruiting criminals to conduct attacks on Jewish targets in the Scandinavian country. This corroborates earlier intelligence reports from Israel’s spy agency Mossad.

At a joint press conference with the Foreign Ministry in Stockholm, Swedish counter-intelligence chief Daniel Stenling described Iran as wanting to use “criminal networks” as “proxies.” He indicated Iran’s chargé d’affaires would be summoned to a meeting on Friday to answer the claims.
