Pierre Poilievre says Israel preventing Iran from getting nuclear weapons would be a ‘gift’ to humanity

OTTAWA — Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says it would be a “gift” for Israel to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, a statement he made when asked about American opposition to an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites.

Outside the House of Commons on Tuesday, Poilievre sidestepped a question about whether an Israeli strike against nuclear facilities in Iran could lead to a direct war between the adversaries. U.S. President Joe Biden, who like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has urged restraint to prevent the conflict from intensifying further, told reporters last week that he does not support an attack on Iran’s nuclear sites.

Fake Solutions for a Real Problem

Although the war, or in fact wars, triggered against Israel by Hamas are far from over, global punditry is already regimented in a cacophonic chorus to tell the protagonists what to do and what not to do.

In fact, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s decision to try and save face by firing missiles at Israel could expand rather than shrink a battlefield that covers a large chunk of the Middle East down to Yemen.

Iran’s leader defends strikes on Israel in rare public speech

Iran’s missile strikes on Israel were “correct, logical, and lawful”, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told a vast crowd which had gathered to hear him speak in Tehran on Friday.

The country’s supreme leader described the attack as the “minimum punishment” for what he called Israel’s “astonishing crimes” while leading Friday prayers in the capital, something he has not done since 2020.

Khamenei’s speech came three days after Iran fired nearly 200 missiles at Israel, in what it said was retaliation for the assassination of Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah.

Iran’s Newest Proxy: Sudan

Iran, having just had two of its major proxies, Hamas and Hezbollah, seriously degraded, is setting its sights on a new, “consolation prize” proxy to use as an additional base of operations: Sudan.

Iran has, for a while, been trying to establish a port in Sudan’s major coastal city, Port Sudan. Iran’s strategy of supporting and infiltrating other countries and terrorist groups — as it has done in Iraq, Syria, Gaza, Lebanon, Venezuela and Yemen — appears as yet another extension of its strategy of moving into territories with weak or unstable governments to expand its influence throughout the Middle East, to create new fronts for its campaign to destroy Israel and bring down the world order led by the West.

When the Iranian Regime Intervenes in US Elections

In a significant move that, since the establishment of Iran’s Islamist regime, Iranian leaders have actively extended their influence to support a political party and candidate in a U.S. presidential race. This notable intervention is directed towards aiding the Democratic ticket headed by Vice President Kamala Harris. It is a move that signals that Iran’s regime hopes to secure an even deeper geopolitical alignment after the upcoming U.S. elections.

The FBI recently confirmed that information stolen by the Iranian regime agents, through their hacking of Donald Trump’s campaign, was disseminated to individuals connected to the Democratic campaign.

Sweden Accuses Iran of Sending Thousands of Texts Calling for Revenge After Quran Burnings

Swedish authorities said on Sept. 24 that Iran was responsible for hacking into a messaging service and sending thousands of text messages urging people in the country to seek revenge for the 2023 Quran burnings.

The cyberattack was carried out by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which hacked into a Swedish company that runs a major SMS service and sent “15,000 text messages in Swedish” in response to a series of public burnings of the Islamic central religious text in August 2023, according to officials in Stockholm.

US says Iran sent info from Trump hack to Biden associates

Iranian hackers distributed information about Donald Trump’s electoral campaign to people linked to the Biden campaign, according to the FBI and US intelligence agencies.

US officials now believe that information taken from the Trump campaign was sent in unsolicited emails to people linked to the campaign in late June and early July – before Biden dropped out of the race for president.

There is currently no evidence that the hackers received any reply from any recipients.

They just keep trying.

New details emerge on Iranian-backed plot to potentially assassinate Trump, Haley or Biden

Four days after former President Donald Trump came inches from death during a campaign rally, federal investigators interviewed a man charged in an Iran-backed plot to potentially assassinate the 45th president or two of his political rivals — President Biden or former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, according to an FBI document made public Thursday.

Asif Merchant, 46, a Pakistani man charged in the scheme, recounted his dealings with handler Mehardad Yousef, according to a proffer agreement released by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who obtained it from law enforcement whistleblowers.

Will The Biden-Harris Administration Allow the World’s Leading State Sponsor of Terrorism to Acquire Nuclear Weapons?

Despite widespread concerns over Iran’s advancing nuclear program, the Biden-Harris administration, along with European leaders, are largely inactive in curbing this growing threat. As the clock ticks, there has been no concrete strategy proposed to halt Iran’s march towards nuclear weapons, leaving the world in an alarming position.

Iran’s new terrorist drone aircraft carrier can’t face the US Navy – but could be dangerous

Some time in 2022, Iran began building its first aircraft carrier. Two years later, Shahid Bahman Bagheri is nearing completion. Recent photos reveal important finishing touches to the nearly 800-foot vessel, including an angled flight deck with markings to help guide landing aircraft.

Bagheri is not a proper purpose-built carrier like the US Navy’s thousand-foot supercarriers. Instead, she’s a commercial container ship with modifications that allow her to launch and land small aircraft – almost certainly drones.

We’re gonna love this new warfare.

In both world wars surreptitiously armed merchant ships were sent to roam the seas preying on the unwary.

Iran: Good and Bad News Are the Same

The good news from Iran is that there isn’t going to be any change in the way the Islamic Republic has always behaved. This is to say, the “Supreme Guide” has decided to swallow his latest humiliation caused by Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s assassination in Tehran and refrain from seeking “hard revenge” as his more radical followers hoped. On Tuesday, a group of Revolutionary Guards raided the German Goethe Institute in Tehran and shut and sealed it in retaliation to the German government’s closing of an Iranian propaganda center in Hamburg last month.

The bad news is also the same: there isn’t going to be any change in the way the Islamic Republic has always behaved. Newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian isn’t going to be the Iranian Gorbachev, as the pro-US faction in the ruling clique had hoped.

Iran is Helping the Kamala Campaign

The Mullahs create pro-Kamala site, hack Trump accounts, leak materials to media.

With headlines like “Harris Surges Ahead: A New Era of Democratic Enthusiasm and Opportunity” and “Former Friend Exposes JD Vance’s Radical Transformation: A Study in Political Opportunism”, you might mistake NioThinker for another mainstream media outlet.

Only the occasional odd word choice and convoluted bit of grammar hints that the digital media site flowing with enthusiasm for Kamala and contempt for Trump isn’t really American.
