Iran’s Khamenei says homosexuality example of West’s immorality

DUBAI, March 1 (Reuters) – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei described homosexuality as part of the “moral deprivation” widespread in Western civilisation, during a televised speech on Tuesday.

“There is severe moral deprivation in the world today such as homosexuality and things that one cannot bring oneself to even talk about. Some have rightly called Western civilisation a new age of ignorance,” Khamenei said.

Honor Killing of Transgender Woman Sparks Outcry in Iraq’s Kurdistan

… Doski Azad was killed Monday, reportedly by her brother, who has apparently fled the country. Kurdish media have described Azad as a victim of a so-called honor killing.

“Our investigation so far suggests that Doski Azad was killed by her brother at a location just outside the city before he managed to flee crime scene,” said Hemin Suleiman, a spokesman for the Duhok police, adding that the victim was killed by a handgun.

He told VOA that an arrest warrant had been issued for the suspect, who reportedly lives in Germany.

Gul Rahim, 38, spoke matter-of-factly about cutting hands and legs off thieves, issuing permits for women to leave their homes and toppling walls on gay men as a form of execution in his Taliban-controlled district in central Afghanistan.

He added that his aim is to introduce the Sharia law punishments across the whole of the country if the Taliban can re-take control once America departs, saying: ‘That was our goal and always will be.’

The police LGBT group FLAG! released a statement this week saying that due to safety concerns for officers, they would not be participating in the Pride march this year.

Syrian refugee ISIS-supporter murdered gay man and injured another for committing ‘grave sin’ of holding hands

A Syrian refugee in Germany who stabbed one man to death and seriously injured his partner because he saw them holding hands has gone on trial today.

The man, identified only as 21-year-old Abdullah AHH due to German privacy laws, is charged with one count of murder for fatally stabbing tourist Thomas L, 55, to death on the streets of Dresden in October last year.

He is also facing one count of attempted murder for attacking Thomas’s partner Oliver L, 53, with a different knife but failing to kill him.

An alleged terror plotter said he wanted to “hunt down” gay people in the UK, a court has heard.

Sahayb Abu, 27, denies planning an atrocity and told the Old Bailey he was just “flexing his muscles” in a pro-Isis chat group.

The court heard that in a message posted to a private group on the encrypted Telegram app, Mr Abu wrote that he had “panic attacks” when he saw gay people, adding: “I need to hunt them down.”

Wielding a large kitchen knife, Abdullah al-H H, a 20-year-old Syrian, allegedly stabbed the couple, who were visiting Dresden on 4 October.

Prosecutors claim al-H H, based in Aleppo, targeted the couple because they were gay and was motivated by radical Islamist ideology, being a recruiter for the Islamic State (ISIS).

He was charged last Thursday (11 February) with murder and attempted murder, according to Deutsche Welle.

The United Nations (U.N.) has condemned reports from Iran that LGBT youth suffer electric shocks and other mistreatment from state authorities, saying the practices amount to “torture,” the Jerusalem Post reported on Friday.

The U.N. is “concerned at recent reports that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender children [LGBT] were subjected to electric shocks and the administration of hormones and strong psychoactive medications,” in Iran.

German federal prosecutors charged a Syrian national suspected of stabbing two men last yearin the eastern city of Dresden, German media outlets reported Thursday.

The 20-year-old suspect is said to have been motivated by a radical Islamist ideology, and targeted the couple because they were homosexual, prosecutors say.

He is facing charges of murder and attempted murder with Islamist and homophobic motives, according to Der Spiegel magazine.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said there is ‘no such thing as LGBT’ after activists clashed with police during a month-long protest at an Istanbul university.

‘The LGBT, there is no such thing,’ Erdoğan said during a televised address to his ruling Justice and Development Party (AK) on Wednesday.

‘This country is… moral, and it will walk to the future with these values.’
