‘It Is the Church that Is Under Attack’: The Persecution of Christians, October 2023

The Sexual Abuse and Forced Conversion of Christians

Pakistan: Three Muslim men abducted and violently gang-raped a 16-year-old Christian girl, Persis Masih, on her way to Sunday church service. The girl’s father, a pastor, and most of the family had left early for church, while Persis continued to get ready. She never appeared at church and was not home when they returned. After immediately filing a report with police, “the family spent a sleepless night contacting relatives in the hope of finding Persis,” according to the Oct. 1 report.

‘Killing Christians Takes Us to Paradise’: The Persecution of Christians, July 2023

Ten days earlier, Amina Nanfuka, 31, while being treated for medical complications, had gone to stay with a relative. During her stay, a pastor visited and prayed for her recovery. According to the relative (name withheld), who had become Christian prior to Amina’s visit:

“I shared the saving power of Jesus, and she showed a desire to accept and to believe in Jesus but requested waiting for the day that the doctor in Kampala had given her for a check-up and thereafter attend the church.”

Pakistan: ‘Eye-for-an-Eye’ Repercussions on Christians from Sweden Burning the Quran

In the interconnected, digital world of the 21st-century, an event thousands of miles away can send shockwaves felt in other parts of the world. The recent burning of a Quran in Sweden has had reverberations as far away as Pakistan and a special impact on the already defenceless Christian minority there.

This is not the first time Pakistani Christians have experienced societal prejudice, institutional discrimination, and sporadic violence. These issues are frequently exacerbated whenever similar events take place anywhere in the West. The fallout from the Quran’s desecration in Sweden, however, has intensified these conflicts, resulting in an alarming rise in threats and the defilement of Christian symbols, particularly the Cross, symbolising Christianity.

‘We Deal in Lead, Friend’: Nigerian Christians Are Right to Defend Themselves

We should respect the desire of a community to protect itself from destruction.

Christian farmers in Nigeria have a right to protect themselves, despite the Biden administration’s indifference.

Years ago, as I was finding my feet as a national security professional, I became friends with a wise and wonderful man, a retired Special Forces (SF) officer whose experiences reached back to the earliest days of SF, before Vietnam, before John F. Kennedy conferred the seal of presidential authority on the wearing of the Green Beret.

‘What Is the Sin Committed by Christians?’: The Persecution of Christians, May 2023

“When I was little, Muslim children would spit on the Christian cross and kiss the Islamic crescent moon in front of us. We, the Christian children in the village, were called slaves and cockroaches…. The hatred towards our [Christian] communities may be less visible now, but it is still there. This is because Muslims know that the authorities are behind them…. [O]ne boy taught other Muslim children to say ‘kill the infidels.'” — palnws.be, June 28 2023, Turkey.

It also works to change the culture of society — which puts it under great pressure — so that it becomes more radical and extreme, not only toward other religions but also toward other Islamic sects.” — catholicnewsagency.com, 2023, Libya.

A Global Pandemic: The Jihadist Rape of Christian Women

The global targeting of Christian women for rape and sexual violence, according to a new study, appears to be at an all-time high, especially in the Muslim world.

Open Doors, a human rights organization that tracks the global persecution of Christians, recently published reports examining the role of gender. One of these, “A Web of Forces: The 2023 Gender Report,” ranks nations based on the category of “gender-specific religious persecution” and shows how a victim’s gender shapes their respective persecution.
