When people compare Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau with father Pierre, the son almost never measures up. Perhaps that isn’t fair. After all, the old man won four general elections; established diplomatic relations with China in 1970, well before the United States; made Canada count in international politics; defeated French Quebec separatism; made multiculturalism and bilingualism official; and formed a new constitution for the country.

How can you beat that? To be sure, his strong federalism laid the seeds for the subsequent provincial discontent, if not rebellion, especially with the resource-rich western ones.

Justin Trudeau’s smug incompetence is making Canada a laughing stock

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been a mediocre, ineffective leader since coming to power in 2015. Every time you believe he’s reached the lowest depths of political incompetence, he finds a new way to sink even further into the muck.

As fate would have it, the most unserious government in Canadian history has reached another new low.

Global Affairs Canada adjusted its international travel advisory this week to warn the LGBTQ+ community against supposed discrimination they may face in the United States. “Some states have enacted laws and policies that may affect 2SLGBTQI+ persons,” the advisory noted, and to “check relevant state and local laws.”

I can’t wait for the foreign commentary once Junior is out of office.

Canada’s Fashionable Lie

The California man who shot and killed the owner of the Mag.Pi clothing store in Cedar Glen, Calif. , on August 18 did so after making “disparaging remarks” about the Pride flag that adorned the establishment. The suspect, who was later killed by police, is alleged to have attempted to take down Pride-related regalia outside the store and issued homophobic remarks ahead of the violence. The sequence of events suggests that anti-LGBT sentiment at least partly inspired this attack. The event made headlines across the United States, in part, because atrocities like these are so blessedly rare.

ROME – Italy’s “far-right” Premier Giorgia Meloni on Sunday rejected criticism from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the G7 Summit about her government’s stance on LGBTQ+ rights.

A reporter asked Meloni about the criticism at a news conference early Sunday in Hiroshima, Japan, which is hosting the annual summit of leaders from seven of the world’s leading industrialized nations.

Meloni should have kicked PM Groomer in the nutz.

Cynically dressed up as a coronation-related gift to the Canadian nation, just days after the coronation, the country’s leader Justin Trudeau has unveiled a Royal Crown of Canada.

Not a physical gold and jewelled crown, mind you, but a virtual crown, designed to replace St Edward’s crown – the very crown placed on the King’s head a week ago – on Canada’s coat of arms, official documents, and armed forces and Mountie badges and insignia.

Everyone despises this cretin.

Justin Trudeau, Canada’s clown prince, is the future of the woke West

Shallow, shameless, self-aggrandising – and obsessed with moral posturing – the Canadian PM should serve as a warning

What in the world, you might be asking, is up with Canada? How did a country famed for its sensible, moderate attitudes and customs transform itself into the front rank of the woke phalanx?

We are an immense country – one infinitely rich, blessed by nature (with the possible exception of winter) and mostly pristine. Yet on almost every front, we are becoming an embarrassment – to ourselves and, increasingly, to the world.

We have fallen, for instance, one-quarter behind our American counterparts in terms of incomes – the wealth that offers security, opportunity and educational resources to our children. We’ve done so while creating an economy that will lag behind most of our peers in the developing world for the next four decades.

Do you think PP can recover from his Christine Anderson gaffe? I don’t think so. He is a Uniparty man.

The country used to be known for being boring. That was before Justin Trudeau took over

My natural reaction to Canada, as someone who grew up in its more famous and influential neighbour, used to be a blink or two and a lazy stir of recollection that the country does, in fact, exist.

But Canada, perhaps aware of its peripheral status, has since the election of its liberal-Left leader Justin Trudeau, left us no choice but to pay attention – for all the wrong reasons. Trudeau, an opportunistic wokester, has turned the country from a dull but relatively sensible-seeming place into a case study in why identity politics – and contemporary progressive ideology – is disastrous if allowed to reach the top. And reach the top it has in Canada, with the judiciary, schools, universities and public debate demented by it in myriad troubling ways.

‘Everyone in China should be allowed to express themselves, should be allowed to share their perspectives and indeed protest.’ So said Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau this week, in response to Beijing’s brutal crackdown on China’s anti-lockdown protests – the largest protests in China since the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989.

To describe Trudeau as an unlikely defender of the right to protest would be the understatement of the year. This is a leader whose own crackdowns on protest broke new ground in the West when it came to Covid authoritarianism. His showdown with the Canadian truckers earlier this year was an especially shameful episode.
