Canada’s ‘leaky bucket’ of immigration? More newcomers are choosing to leave Canada for greener pastures

More recent immigrants are leaving Canada for greener pastures, a new study says.

The findings suggest the phenomenon is especially prevalent between four and seven years after newcomers have received their permanent residence.

Although the number and ratio of people leaving each year varied, over the course of 25 years, accumulatively about 20 per cent of immigrants in each cohort ultimately left Canada, said the report, “The Leaky Bucket: A Study of Immigrant Retention Trends in Canada.”

Which may say something about the “quality” of immigrant who is forced to stay.

Canada’s immigration planning will now take into account housing, health care and infrastructure, minister says

In response to growing concern over Canada’s capacity to welcome more newcomers, the federal government says it will incorporate housing, health care and infrastructure planning with provinces and municipalities when setting the country’s annual immigration targets.

On Tuesday, Immigration Minister Marc Miller unveiled a report on the current state of Canadian immigration — along with a road map for tackling those challenges.

“We aim to build a system that is easier to navigate, with an inclusive and co-ordinated plan that aligns our immigration programs and policies with the needs of the country,” Miller said in a statement released the day before he will table his 2024-26 immigration levels plan.

Public support for immigration falls sharply amid affordability concerns

… Under Mr. Trudeau, the Liberals have made high immigration a cornerstone of their economic agenda. They argue that not only will immigration lead to stronger growth, but it will also help fill jobs as Canada gets progressively older.

David Williams, vice-president of policy at the Business Council of British Columbia, said this is a naive view of how economies work. He pointed to a stagnation in gross domestic product per capita as a sign that average living standards were not improving, despite the high intake of newcomers. Furthermore, there is ample research that indicates immigration has little effect – positive or negative – on per-capita output or average wages.

“Canada’s immigration policy has really become disconnected from the academic evidence,” Mr. Williams said. “There seems to be a view in Ottawa that ever-increasing immigration levels is a panacea for all of the structural problems in Canada’s economy.”

The cranks from the Century Initiative are cited in the article. They’re a lobby group for Corporate Canada that seeks to ensure mass immigration will continue to create profitable shortages for their clients to exploit and ensure depressed wages.

It’s all a scam designed to benefit Big Business and their political minions, they’ll go to any lengths to keep the con going including accidentally “misplacing” a MILLION FOREIGNERS.

The Liberals’ immigration blueprint is unsound, and will hinder the economy it seeks to help

For years, the Trudeau government has rapidly brought in newcomers it cannot house, hoping for economic gains it has not delivered. It’s time to change course

On the afternoon of June 16, Canada’s population surpassed the 40-million mark.

In a country long lamented by some of its leading thinkers as a low-density also-ran stunted by a lack of bodies to fill its vast expanses and dynamize its sleepy cities, it was to be expected that hitting this milestone would be considered a big deal by some.

The official population estimate came from Statistics Canada, which called reaching the 40-million mark “a cause for celebration.” Our national number cruncher even said Canada was “40 million strong,” seemingly equating population size with strength, an idea that is largely passé in the technology-driven 21st century.

Temporary foreign workers in Canada have skyrocketed over the past decade, according to StatsCan. Here’s a breakdown

The overall number of temporary residents reporting income in Canada has increased close to 150 per cent between 2010 and 2020, a new Statistics Canada study found.

That growth is being driven by postgraduate work permit holders and international students with study permits.

The federal government runs two programs for temporary foreign workers and residents: the Temporary Foreign Worker program and the International Mobility program.

Another scam run by corporate interests to flood the country with cheap labour and benefit their bottom line.

Immigration minister announces new rules to curb international student fraud schemes

OTTAWA – Colleges and universities that issue acceptance letters to international students will have to confirm all of them with the federal immigration department as Canada moves to crack down on fraud.

Immigration Minister Marc Miller announced the new rules Friday following an investigation this summer into more than 100 cases involving fake admission letters.

The department launched a task force in June to investigate a scheme that dates back to 2017, which saw immigration agents issue fake acceptance letters to get international students into Canada.

Bullshit.

Emboldened Global Jihad Is Final Nail in Coffin of Mass Migration Delusion

It has become obvious that assimilation of huge numbers of non-Western immigrants into Western society is simply not working.

The weeks since the Oct. 7 Hamas pogrom in Israel, in which the most Jews were slaughtered in a single day than at any time since World War II, have seen an astonishing rise in global Jew-hatred. One might have thought that the mass carnage and unspeakable barbarism of the Hamas Holocaust would instead galvanize a concerted pushback against Islamic jihadism, but it is the ancient scourge of antisemitism — and not so-called Islamophobia — that is once again the world’s most politically correct and fashionable form of bigotry.

Terrorism watch: New Hampshire governor sets up own patrols of border with Canada

Citing inaction from the Biden Administration on the New Hampshire border with Canada, the governor of the Granite State is taking action.

A joint task force comprised of local, county and state law enforcement has been established to conduct patrols along New Hampshire’s border with Canada to combat threats and illicit activity.

Gov. Chris Sununu, Attorney General John Formella and New Hampshire Department of Safety Commissioner Robert Quinn announced the establishment of the Northern Border Alliance Task Force today. The task force will perform patrols along the northern border to reduce crime, illicit activity, threat response and collect criminal intelligence in cooperation with federal law enforcement.

Immigration: Canadians should just accept unaffordable housing, a decline in their standard of living and more Hamas supporters or else we’ll call you a racist

Amid growing dissent, will Canada change its immigration plans?

Canada is set to unveil the latest targets for how many new residents it hopes to welcome in the coming years.

The annual announcement of permanent resident levels, something Immigration Minister Marc Miller must do in Parliament on or before Nov. 1, is the kind of dry fare that has traditionally drawn little attention, serving largely as a governmental formality amid high levels of public support for immigration.

… NDP immigration critic Jenny Kwan said she’s concerned about the backlash against the immigrant community.

“No good will come out of that because we have already lived through racism and discrimination in Canada’s history,” she said. “The government has to have a housing plan and an infrastructure plan for our community.”

The usual Liberal propaganda from the Star. Apparently Canadians are too dumb to realize that unaffordable housing and a rapidly declining standard of living is good for them.

Their “experts” are the usual spokesman for the corporate class who crave depressed wages and love the thought of profiteering from the shortages mass immigration brings.

Corporate Canada should have no say in immigration policy like our politicians they are insulated from the negative impact mass immgration has on society.

How do you think we ended up with thousands of Hamas supporters in our streets?

Corporate Canada doesn’t care where the bodies come from, they’re just fodder for the machine.

The usual garbage “analysis” is thrown up i.e. immigrants are necessary for economic growth.

They fail to mention that immigrants themselves age and thus are not a fix for Canada’s aging demographic or that Canada no longer attracts the “younger immigrant” that can give as much as they take over the course of their working lives.

Our immigration policy is so sick that most granted permanent resident status can’t even be bothered to take out Canadian citizenship any longer because we’re just a waystation on the route to greener pastures to them:  In 2021, of the permanent residents who had come to Canada within the last 10 years, just 45.7 per cent had become citizens. In 2001, that figure was 75.1 per cent.

The cost of family reunification with grandma and grandpa to Canada? Not mentioned.

They lie about a non-existent labour shortage and make no mention of how mass immigration depresses wages.

The impact of Automation and AI on employment? Not a factor in Star land!

But they do let you know that you’re a racist for daring to defend your own best interests.

The Day the Delusions Died

… We woke up on October 8 to the clamor of street protests in cities across the West condemning Israel even before any major Israeli response to the attacks. We watched celebratory crowds brandish swastikas and chant “gas the Jews” at events purporting to be about the loss of Palestinian lives. We saw Black Lives Matter chapters lionize terrorists.

In London, where I live, we watched the mayor deliver glib assurances that “London’s diversity is our greatest strength” in the midst of a wave of antisemitic attacks, and as Jewish schools were forced to close because of safety concerns.

Across the West, we noticed that our representatives refused to condemn Hamas’s kidnappings, and that the legacy media was all too eager to swallow and regurgitate Hamas propaganda.

For 17 years this blog has served as a minor record of the destruction our elites have visited upon Canada and western civilization in general through the mass import of Islamists.

Some who happily demonized those that dared point out Islam’s incompatibility with our culture and values are suddenly appalled to witness “Canadian” Muslims openly celebrating the  murder of Israeli men, women and children.

But only some are appalled most of their kind dance in delight at the slaughter.

Our politicos of all stripes enabled this hate to fester within Canadian society, they protected and nurtured its growth and criminalized citizens who spoke against the madness.

And all for our latter day 30 pieces of silver, votes.

Sadly those responsible for inviting this evil to our shores lack the remorse of Judas.

Trudeau’s immigration policies exacerbate housing crisis

It’s not racism or xenophobia, it’s simply mathematics.

As the Trudeau government has cranked up immigration to record levels, the nation’s housing supply has failed to keep up. Hundreds of thousands of new Canadians are entering the country each year, while the number of new housing units being built is not even as high as it was in the 1970s.

America, Jr.

Canada is currently subjecting itself to a bizarre experiment in extreme population growth due to pedal-to-the-metal legal immigration.

Canada’s population rose about 1 percent per year for the first decade and a half of this century. But the Justin Trudeau era began in 2015, and growth was goosed to 1.5 percent by 2019. After a brief pandemic pause, the Trudeau government is now opening the borders extraordinarily wide.

In response, Canada’s annual population growth rate hit 3.0 percent in the third quarter of 2023, the kind of rise normally associated with Bangladesh in the 1980s. Over the summer, Canada’s population reached 40 million, up from 30 million in 1997.

Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker program is ballooning — creating a new class of wage slaves from abroad

This time last year, the media buzz about the labour market was over The Great Resignation, a bigger phenomenon in the United States but occurring here too, as workers took advantage of record-high job vacancy rates to abandon suboptimal jobs for better ones.

This year there’s an emerging made-in-Canada phenomenon that has barely generated a whisper, let alone a buzz: wage slaves from abroad. It’s a result of public policy.

The idea of owning workers seems like an abomination from another time and place. In Canada, in 2023, it’s difficult to comprehend how any worker could be beholden to a single employer.

B’nai Brith Canada Discovers Hamas Flag at Rally in Support of Terrorism

TORONTO – B’nai Brith Canada is deeply concerned after discovering a flag bearing the emblem of the Hamas terrorist organization at a demonstration celebrating the unprecedented wave of terrorism in Israel.

Only one?

I was photographing Hezbollah flags etc a decade ago.

It’s now an accepted part of our multicultral experience!

Because the immoral monsters in Ottawa invited them here.

Not a good idea in my, sunlight works best: UK Home Secretary may ban Palestian flags after pro-Hamas rallies
